@@nightwalker174 at least jj is a star wars fan and tried to make it work. Yeah he didnt quite get it, but its not really his fault. People expected a lot from him and he gave them as much as he could
You have a show that has so many hours of time while a film only has a few. Hell Rebels and Clone Wars did more for the Star Wars lore than the OT. I'm just that type of fan that holds the same standard for every film.
What i love about Filoni is his belief in positive, optimistic outcomes with FEW casualties. Tragedy enriches a story, but Filoni has enough quality without the sobs and tears.
Sometimes. This show has a lot of drawbacks as a result of the characters coming out unscathed with almost every encounter they've had with the empire. It can get quite dull when it's like that all the time. TCW, by comparison, had someone getting injured or dying almost every episode in the later arcs. Obviously both shows served different purposes, but you'd think this time period would be quite dire, given the circumstances.
I actually disagree. Filoni is at his best when he's defying audience expectations, and that would seem rather predictable. I would rather get Sabine and Ahsoka's adventures as a novel or comic (or a live action movie, I'm just saying). I think Filoni would do best giving us something we didn't know we wanted.
Sabine and Ahsoka looking for Ezra in the Unknown Regions. Meanwhile Ezra and Thrawn's group of imperials try to survive out in uncharted space, fighting horrors that might threaten the Chiss or the greater galaxy, such as the darkside entity that was calling to Palpatine and eventually taught Snoke the darkest secrets of the Force, secrets that allowed him to rule over the imperial remnant.
Am I the only one who thinks that the voice actor's could easily play live action versions of their characters? (Zeb would probably require mocap though.)
Filoni the way he speaks about Star Wars is like Lucas, he gets it and he loves it. The padawan has become the master, he needs to be running Star Wars
I loved how it was Sabine who was closing the series off, really love her character and I liked the fact that she had a seen with another one of my favorite characters from clone wars which was Ashoka. Hope Sabine finds Ezra (I really like the both of theme as a couple as well as every single scene that they had together). Star Wars Rebels....it was one hell of a ride, i will truly miss you(but i will re watch all 4 seasons). Can't wait for the next Star Wars animated TV show(I hope it features Ashoka again). Farewell....until we meet again....and remember, The force will be with you, always.
Just rewatched Rebels and I think it must be, especially S4, my favourite bit of Star Wars media. Its incredible. It embodies everything that SW should be. From the selfless Jedi relying on the force, to the deeply unlikeable bad guys in Thrawn & Pryce. Thrawn is such an amazing bad guy. Need to see him more in Ahsoka.
Ayo Thrawn was super likeable. So I'd say, it embodies the extremely smart big bad, while previous villians used more brute force like Darth Vader Pryce I agree
I cried at the end and I rarely cry at the end of shows, what these guys did with just their voices to make me invested enough and care enough to cry at the end is fantastic. I hope Felloni gets to make a film and a roll these characters back in.

Hopefully Kathleen Kennedy will take notes on how Filoni gets Star Wars. Or at least put him in charge of all the cannon story writing or all of Star Wars from this point on. Bravo, Dave.
Dave Filoni is like Qui-Gon Jinn; underrated and often overlooked, but actually very knowledgeable and one of the most understanding of the Force. Kathleen Kennedy is like Mace Windu; the official leader and increasingly powerful, but filled with hidden darkness and hypocrisy.
FreakDaMIghet Makes sense, Windu is a real ass. If he wasn't played by Samuel L. Jackson, i'd probably hate him more. I also enjoy antagonising Kathleen after she has shown just how inadequate she is at handling Star Wars. So i suppose we're in the same boat.
Disney if you have any sense...put Dave Filoni in charge of SW!!! He is such a good guy and his message in this interview, 31:48, about fear and what it can do is so powerful. He has the moral integrity that is needed in all future writing. Put him in charge!
Guys they might make another one look what Dave put on his Twitter This is some of the crew that worked on #StarWarsRebels over the years. We wanted to thank you for all the support you have given us the last four seasons. Remember my friends, the Force will be with you, always. *Now let us begin, again.*
Them making a new show is like the worst kept secret Lucasfilm has. At Celebration last year Filoni said Rebels was not the last thing they were doing in animation. A filing for the name Star Wars: Resistance was uncovered. A Lucasfilm animation job posting was discovered for a supervising writer, citing both Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels as previous shows. Bob Iger's quarterly meeting with Disney investors offered information on the new stream service "Disney Network", noting that there were 2 live action Star Wars shows in the works as a well as a new animated Star Wars show.
He confirmed long ago that they were going to be working on another show after Rebels. It's what the show would be ABOUT that was veiled. It could be about Sabine and Ahsoka's search for Ezra, or something else. We don't know. We did know about the plans for a new animated series, though.
I don't think a search for Ezra is a big enough plot to justify a new animated series spanning at least two seasons. It's more likely that it will either be novelized, or a subplot of a much larger series.
I’m So annoyed that Kathleen Kennedy wouldn’t look in-house for amazing talent like Dave Filoni and Pablo Hidalgo, men who UNDERSTAND and BREATHE ALL Star Wars canon (pre and post Disney), to lead the new Star Wars. They probably would’ve given us a rich and impressive new trilogy if they helmed it with Lawrence Kasdan. Oh well. We can only hope that they give him reigns in the near future to steer Star Wars back to a more...natural...place. I’m not afraid of change, im of afraid of the people in charge not making their love for Star Wars the priority. Star Wars Rebels was incredibly amazing. I’m going to miss this show so much. Thanks for uploading this! Am I the only one who finds Dave Filoni's statements beginning at 30:10 to be very revealing of what the TRUE spirit of Star Wars is (and Filoni's total comprehension of it), and what some at Lucasfilm Ltd. may NOT be in tune with at present? Filoni REALLY should be the Creative Head of the company (AND, like Anakin Skywalker, George's personal rep. of Disney/Lucasfilm Ltd.)...he very much represents the guiding spirit of George Lucas' legacy in the Star Wars Universe. I can't wait to see what his next project will be. Hopefully, this cast will still play a role in SW in some fashion. *NOW, knowing that (a very pregnant) Hera was officially present at The Battle of Scarif, I'm REALLY disappointed that We didn't get to see the inside of The Ghost for about a minute or two, featuring the TV cast as their respective characters, esp. Vanessa Marshall, since she basically IS Hera, just w/out the green skin, etc.

What an incredible conclusion to an incredible show. Everyone lives until after ROJ, recalling that Luke defeated the Emperor and Vader, Lothal becomes peaceful once again, Zeb and Kallus on their new home world, Commander Rex on Endor, Hera, her son Jacen and Chopper, and Sabine and Ahsoka looking for Ezra. I am absolutely speechless right now seeing this emotional end to Star Wars Rebels, #rememberingrebels until, whenever we see these characters again. If we do, but I’m positive we will see them again, somewhere, sometime. So once more #rememberingrebels
Filoni is a story writer, universe builder, director, voice actor, a producer, and everything else much like the last head of Lucas films, George. Dave is basically the head of Lucasfilms Animation and would not be a stretch for him to head it all, the animation stories have added more to canon than the movies have. Don't fool yourself Kennedy does a lot more than just read the stories she has had her hand in everyone of the bad choices on creativity, I think even some on Rebels but not as much as the movies. She makes sure her influence is at every press junket and she only gets directors that she can directly lord over their creative processes as her puppet and insert her agenda. If a director and her have "creative differences" they are terminated already happened to at least 3 directors for "creative differences." Awakens and TLJ have basically just been her well financed fan fiction.
Ikanite Kennedy doesn’t know Star Wars like Filoni knows Star Wars. Kevin Feige at Marcel doesn’t write their stories but still has a grip on the universe, unlike Kennedy.

This is a brilliant finale. This literally makes Rebels so much better than any other Disney Star Wars stuff.. Make new series all about Ahsoka and Sabine going to Outer Rim
Thank you for uploading this. I'm a film student and I'm learning the art of storytelling from Dave a lot from this clip. Keep up the good work guys :) And May the Force be with You, Always....
This was awesome, thank you! I would have asked, since Malachor had such a long story arch before Rebels as told in KOTOR, and Filoni & crew obviously pulled from that, how did they land on the superweapon-gone-wrong story that we see in rebels? Were they limited in what they could pull from the non-canon?
Because he worked so closely with George Lucas for so many years, Dave Filoni has been able to cultivate much better Star Wars sensibilities. He should be promoted above Everyone else in the Lucasfilm Story Group. I know that most fans would find alot of comfort knowing he's in the driver's seat.
Thank you so much, Filoni, for such a wonderful and creative Star Wars adventure and taking my mind off of the horrible Sequel Trilogy! Episodes 7,8 and 9 would be in such better hands with you on the creative front.
26:45 Oh wow, I never noticed that, but the second Steve Blume mentioned her I recognized the voice. McGlynn is probably best known in anime for the voice of Tsunade in Naruto and Motoko (a.k.a. the Major) in Ghost in the Shell, which is also neat because Blume is also well known for many anime roles. It's also cool how the rebels team included relationships in the process of making the show, with Freddie's wife voicing the 7th Sister (who also played Buffy the Vampire Slayer I believe). It's stuff like this that helps the acting come from the heart, and it shows.
No Filoni is the executive director, that position (Which I was wrong it is an Episodic Director, which still is not the same position Filoni has) is just a part of his team, helping him make his vision happen
It’s clear Dave and the art department were thinking ahead when they designed the physical appearance of the characters in a way that would allow them to use the voice actors in live action in the future if the opportunity presented itself, just like they did with Katie Sackhoff.
Remember in the occupation episode when kanan and Hera were hiding in Lothal from the stormtroopers he said "it's been a while since we've been alone" implying they've been intimate before
I feel like maybe the epilogue could have done with brief mention that the planetary shield underneath the dome (It did look situated beneath the flying dome.) made it too time consuming for any fleet to bombard. That way the Emperor's not only scared, and distracted he can't even just send a small taskforce out of spite, it's "All or nothing."
Esto es la reflexión de tu trabajo en quien eres convertido en realidad, pienso que esto es lo que vemos en una serie como Rebels amo ellos lucen como una familia también
An awesome show and Filoni is a great man for carrying Lucas' torch so well. I have to admit that I didn't like Filoni's response you the young man who asked the question on whether Filoni had any future considerations for the Manadloreans. It reminded me of that scene from the movie Galaxy Quest, when Tim Allen brushes off the super fans when they ask a loaded question. Anyways, it kind of dampered the Q&A for me little bit.
Filoni out did himself with these last 4 episodes ! Thank God for it ! After the Last Jedi it was thought that Star Wars had died forever but these last 4 episodes where pure Star Wars!!!!! The force is safe as long as Rian Johnson keeps his ugly claws off this series ! I would love to see what Filoni could do if he had had a crack at 7,8,9 ! Thank you for recording this to share with those of us who weren't there. It was quite wonderful!
This is a brilliant finale. This literally makes Rebels so much better than any other Disney Star Wars stuff.. Make new series all about Ahsoka and Sabine going to Outer Rim
They're making it!
Filoni has to direct a Star Wars movie. No doubts about it.
What a series... Brilliant and beautiful from beginning to end.
Thank you for uploading this. I'm a film student and I'm learning the art of storytelling from Dave a lot from this clip. Keep up the good work guys :)
And May the Force be with You, Always....
33:42 Chopper voice!!!!!!! Haaaaaaa....I miss Star Wars Rebels already *cries*
So much respect for Dave. Love his respect for George and love this interview.
I know Kanan’s VA wasn’t there because his character wasn’t in the finale that was being premiered but it still would’ve been nice to have him there.
Filoni should be in complete control of lucasfilm. I’ve absolutely adored everything he has been involved with.
Thanks for posting this!
You’re welcome!
Well I’m pretty damn sure the next show is gonna be Sabine and Ashoka this is very obvious
By now, I think, we all should know better than to think that anything is obvious. I certainly wouldn't mind it though.
Ryan Joseph I mean, they are definitely going to continue their stories, the question is, are they going to make it the next show though ?
Hector Luis true true
Finally... it's been 3 years.
what was with that guy that showed up 38 mins in with a lightsaber?
thank you for this video just what i needed answered questions
You're welcome! Glad to help fellow Star Wars fans
Why no Freddie?
NumberXV good question!
NumberXV I wish he was there, I want to know what he thinks and feels about Kanan being a dad
Great job Amy, Loved Rebels, Dave, cast, and crew did a great job, the family aspect throughout the series was so important part of the series.
This was awesome when I saw it years ago and it’s somehow better now. The fact the we have the Ghost crew in live action now is amazing.
That’s why we are we watching REBELS. There’s more context now with Ahsoka.
I never doubted you Dave
First questioned aged very well 😂😂😂
Something tells me there’s going to be another Star Wars show
JUNIOR18 There is. Disney has already trademarked the name "Star Wars: Resistance".
Jason Dee REALLY?!
Lucasfilm Animation is also hiring a supervising writer
Icybubba You mean Filoni is getting replaced?
No Filoni is the executive director, that position (Which I was wrong it is an Episodic Director, which still is not the same position Filoni has) is just a part of his team, helping him make his vision happen
that dude with the red lightsaber made me super uncomfortable
He made EVERYONE uncomfortable!
haha what did the cast say about the guy?
Dave Filoni said "well, that was very performative..."
Hahaha bit of a weirdo wonder if they have history lol
He made me feel extremely odd. Did he do anything thing more other than asking the question.
I hope KK's taking notes, this is how you tell a Star Wars story.
Kathleen doesn't create the stories she just reads the stories all the story group dudes create and she's just like mhm.
I think it’s safe to say we know what the next series is going to be about
What are the theories?
Cough Ashoka and Sabine cough
Ahsoka, Sabine and Ezra will be in the next Animated series.
I hope not, maybe later in 4 or 5yrs. we've just had a search for a Jedi story in EP7/8 & Poe Dameron comic.
darth wint yeah, but now we can have a good one
It’s clear Dave and the art department were thinking ahead when they designed the physical appearance of the characters in a way that would allow them to use the voice actors in live action in the future if the opportunity presented itself, just like they did with Katie Sackhoff.
Sabine and ezra are the remaing scope for the rebels ,and surprisingly the voice actor of those two are same as their characters.
THRAWN AND AHSOKA SPIN OFF MOVIES AND EZRA :)
Remember in the occupation episode when kanan and Hera were hiding in Lothal from the stormtroopers he said "it's been a while since we've been alone" implying they've been intimate before
Damn those jackets that Dave and Steve have are awesome
I feel like maybe the epilogue could have done with brief mention that the planetary shield underneath the dome (It did look situated beneath the flying dome.) made it too time consuming for any fleet to bombard.
That way the Emperor's not only scared, and distracted he can't even just send a small taskforce out of spite, it's "All or nothing."
Dave: Darth Vader's miserable, he lost everything, he has nothing
Audience: Hahahahaha
This makes me sad that we probably won’t get an animated sequel.
taylor’s SCARF, I am ALIVE
Seeing him on video, I now know who is going to play Ezra. He looks spot.
Haha that's Turk from Scrubs @35:44. Turk nerding out to Star Wars is amazing, only thing that would've made that better is JD being there too
Thanks so much for posting this!
Love you Dave
Esto es la reflexión de tu trabajo en quien eres convertido en realidad, pienso que esto es lo que vemos en una serie como Rebels amo ellos lucen como una familia también
I agree, thinking about the family aspect in this show makes me want to watch it again!
This was wonderful. I just wish that Freddie was there but that’s okay! I’m so excited for the Ahsoka show
What else for commander Rex..after endor?!!
Great job on this video! Good camera work and sound! -D
Im sure the train wreck would not have happened and Luke would still be a Jedi worth mentioning ! ! ! Can't wait to see where he goes with his next project !!!
Turk asking the question everyone wants an answer to.. he's still the man
The real question is, where is dave filoni's hat!
