Bulls and Jazz had unreal games at Utah. Jordan got them back the next year with a buzzer beater of his own.
When NBA was on top !!!!
2:20 got damn he jumped so high on that jump shot that jordan is dwarfing eaton
"Inadvertent elbows" from Karl Malone don't exist, Johnny.
Back then, NBA baskets had harder rims that bounced the ball more and made it hard to roll in. Just listen to that clanging sound when the ball struck the rims in this video. Before the 2009-10 season, NBA switched to a softer rim, and shooting percentage and scoring immediately went up, and that was before all the team started shooting more threes and went with faster tempo offense. The softer rim also made 3-pointers easier to make. Keep this in mind when you hear people compare Steve Kerr's 3-point-% with Curry's.
What about the ball technology? Any diferences between the NBA ball used back then and current ones?
interesting
And I wouldn’t say all arenas sounded this bad back then but goddamn these rims sound worse than the rims we had when I was in high school and I went to an Australian high school!! These sound god awful 😂😂
Reese B I don’t like it, I always like hearing the intensity of the crowds on the old telecasts.
The mics they used for the old Chicago stadium always sounded really loud. For instance, the 1988 dunk contest. Just had this loud sound to it
lmao yea yea sure the older generation is so much better than the new generation we get it
Even before the 2 finals appearances these two teams had battles especially in Utah.
88- MJ scores 47 and the bulls have a big comeback win
90-Stockton leads huge final minute comeback
91-Jordan hits a buzzer beater
92- Triple overtime classic with MJ getting ejected
93- Bulls come back down from 17 in the 4th. MJ scores 37 and Malone scores 40
This is amazing quality, like it came straight out of the NBA vault.
A year later, MJ would get his revenge back on the Jazz on a buzzer beater, savage!
Jordan feared no man.
The rims back then were like shooting at a carnival for a stuffed animal
The bulls and utah always had some awesome games.
Crazy, absolutely crazy... what an exciting game. that elbow from the mailman though. he could have easily killed him if hit him in the temple... I remember how he knocked out Robinson. Poor MJ, the amount of beating he got in those games... It is a miracle he survived let alone anything else.
Isaiah Thomas too
Jordan remembered that game for 8 yrs
Stockton was so clutch
Keep it up with these late 80’s early 90’s MJ highlights
…and Michael took that personally for the rest of his career. This is why he won the 1997 and 1998 NBA Finals. Lol
Imagine harden going against utahs defense, he would sit out the whole game, I miss these physicality of the NBA
1989 Jordan would definitely kill 2011 Lebron James.
Any version of LBJ
John Stockton is the GOAT pound for pound.
Michael Jordan in 1989-90
33.6 points
6.9 rebounds
6.3 assists
2.8 steals
All NBA First Team
All NBA Defensive First Team
Scored 40 or more points 22 times
Scored 50 or more 3 times
Scoring title
Steals title
Scored 17 points for the East in the All Star Game
And finished third in MVP voting
The Bulls had a meltdown during this one.
such a bs call on jordan at 6:05. today malone would be called flagrant on that. by the way, such a rare game. thanks!
2 reverse layups, beautiful
nice vid that is gold
goat duo. pippen was such an outstanding defender. jordan was slightly not as good defensively but the best scorer we've ever seen
I know this was 5 years ago but I don't know why the score isn't coming up on the bottom right of the screen in the last minute.
Revenge is a dish best served cold 😈💯😂
In the minute 7:40 when jordan passed the ball to john paxson and he put it on the floor, the referee signals traveling... but I think it was not a good call. Anyway, frenetic final seconds in this game.
Carl molone push in the ball at 0:0
1998 FINALS Gm 7 ?
I fucking hate it when players milk the attention on the floor pretending they are about to die. We get it, you got knocked. Toughen up and get on with it.
How big is Eaton fucking hell
Jordan the billy GOAT 🐐 himself.. LeBron in his wettest dreams could not be this man.. explain LeBron had to say "I want my damn respect." Jordan NEVER had to say that because he was respected and feared by all even Shaq said he was scared of MJ, highest scoring avg of all time 30.1ppg regular season, 33.5 playoffs and 6 50+ pt games in the playoffs, 27.9 per highest ever in Regular season and 28.6 PER in the playoffs highest in history, 9 times Al first team Defensive team, defensive player of the year in 1988, and 10 time scoring 🏆 champion, two 3peats 6 NBA MVP'S of the Finals and two time slam dunk champ when it meant something, MJ is the man but hell Lebron nothing wrong with silver or bronze because to me Kobe was the closest thing to Mike. Best to you all.
stop bringing up lebron, fuck jordan fans man.
Wow that is about the worst refed game I have ever seen the nba should be embarrassed to let this game be seen
\o/
Lol that Hansen dude wouldn’t be drafted today
MJ’s opposition SMH
He was a 3 point shooter. What is you saying?! Plus you young cats don't know nothing about having fundamentals anymore. A guy with fundamentals would run circles around you guys now days lol!
Well Darryl Griffith normally would guard Jordan in those early Utah matchups, but Darryl chronic knee problems moved him out of the starting rotation. Darryl had the highest recorded vertical ( true 48in ) coming into NBA in 1980.
Enjoy this one Utah, when it really mattered you lost to Jordan....twice!
