      @rowsofshaflower688 5 лет назад

      Just looked it up, The Butlins is a chain of large, AFFORDABLE seaside resorts in the UK for ordinary people.
      I dislike homes that are stacked like BARRAXES, row houses or military sites, they SCREAM that the property designer and architect DID NOT ENGAGE THEIR IMAGINATION & CREATIVITY, consequently the building savvy onlooker recognize that they don't think the AVERAGE person; knows, expects or DESERVES DESIGN, instead of cookie cutter, plain Jane, entry level, UGLY, row houses...build with ZERO imagination..
      Common sense, ALWAYS do 'self investigation of truth' when buying 1. business, 2. rental or, 3. personal dwelling. You're buying the SURROUNDINGS as part of the total package....so, DON'T BUY A CAT IN A BAG --> consult The Better Business Bureau (or the equivalent of such), in the country of your POTENTIAL purchase), & two other (independent) sources.

      @@cleverB634 Hi Clever, I'm not complaining, just observing. By the way, my family is from Jamaica (Port Antonio specifically). I've been going to Ocho Rios every year for the past 20 years so I'm familiar with how people live there. I just thought that the development looks a little "tree-less." However, I understand that it's a new development and the trees need time to grow. I'm sure if I go there in 10-20 years it will be filled with shady trees. I'm looking to move to Jah in about 5-7 years that's why I was looking at the video. Lastly, I live in Washington, D.C. and you're right - just like London, just rows and rows of houses with very little land in front or back and they all cost $500,000 and up. I'd love to visit London, it's certainly on my bucket list. Take care and hope to see you in London some day.

    i am so sorry for what i am about to say which may cause others to blast me to hell but I dont give a castle main 4X...Fairfield Jamaica.... (and I am mainly talking to those who are coming from foreign, UK, USA, Canada or anywhere else) I am sorry, I was one of the early few who bought a house in fairfield, it wasn't fully developed like it is now (10 years ago to be precise) although at the time when I was buying, i was given the impressions that it will be a gated community, i didn't realize i would have to wait this long (judging by the images of the gate i seen in this video) but what the estate agent didn't tell me, was that I would be surround by ghetto areas, some just a stone's throw away....I got held up, robbed, traumatized and brutally attacked by GUNMEN, left nearly for dead as a lone female (my partner at the time ran off and left me), I survived another gun attack and another 2 attempts. Finally, and broken, I returned back to England. I have never been back since, although I Love Jamaica and desperately want to visit again, but i hate when these real estate people paint this perfect brilliantly picture of beautiful homes, and dont tell you the darker side of what may happen after dark (any why would they). Now... I am not saying what happened to me (i was just unfortunate) will happen to YOU, but please... before anyone buy into these beautifully designed homes, look into surrounding areas, check out how safe will you be travelling home late at night, how far can you safely walk to the taxi point, to the shops, to any other areas, check out bushes, alley-ways, the garden back of homes, or anywhere that gunman can hide and spring out on you unexpectedly. Is there enough lighting in the area, how far is the police station, is there regular police patrol, all of that before you just buy or else you are in for a nasty surprise. In the end, I ran and left my beautiful home, and from the safety of England, I tried to sell it with much difficulty and in the end i did and still, I got completely and totally RIPPED off via the estate agent, who gave me back pittance in change in comparison to the THOUSANDS and THOUSANDS OF POUNDS i handed over in cash. And the real estate agent who dealt with me at the time, didn't want to know, or help me when I went back to them in disrepair, they just didnt want to know or was interested to help me. I wanted to sell immediately (i was terrified at the experience) but they didn't want to know about me and my traumatic experience, just was interested in keeping the cash money I transferred by SWIFT bank from England to them. All I am saying is.... thoroughly do your due diligence before you just buy into these homes, and I apologize in advance for those who think I am just bashing Jamaica, I am Not, I am speaking from real life experience and if you still dont want to understand what I am saying then I dont give another castle main 4X at who don't believe me... This is what happened, otherwise to everyone else....Good Luck and may God have mercy on you and keep you safe when you do move in.

      That is a sad story, I'm sorry that happened to you. You should make a video about it. I would buy one of these gated properties as a second home, and definitely know the area back to front. There are other Islands you can invest in to retrive the equity you have lost.

      I'm so sorry for your unfortunate experience Nubian Ashanti.
      But your advice goes for everything. Do your due diligence before. And what some people call gates community is not necessarily what first world countries would call gated.
      I dont see why anyone with any intelligence would want to bash you for no one knows what you went through.
      The reality is Jamaica is beautiful but we have lost the love and respect for humanity. Money and materialism comes first.
      I suggest people buy property in the more mature gated communities in st Andrew. Yes they are more expensive but for me I would pay more for that and also easier to sell when its time.

Check to fron and rear doord for proper closer...check the taps in b/rooms and kitchen..they are valve operated. and if they are still..they need to be adjust or you will break the waste pipe UNDERNEATH the cabinet, check to see if the builder will install exhaust fans in the ceiling of the Living room and Kitchen...this will greatly reduce the amount of hot air that gets trapped in the roof...they won't tell you what the rvalue of the walls are..but I am sure they are not up to standard...during the Summer months if you use the A/C units...your electric bill will be close to $30,000.00 per month...Check the pole that holds up the electric and cable wires from the street to the house. Where I am living the pole are being pulled over because they cannot support the weight of the wire and Flow cable from the street...check who activates the Alarm system, check the quality of water...it's usually very cloudy..which tells me chlorine. As a Jamaican living in southwestern United States, these houses look great and with the exchange rate to pay $140k USD for a piece of the Jamrock and be able to come back a yard for a few months out of the year is excellent. Not much room to plant a breadfruit tree or ackee tree, but this will appeal to a tight niche of the Jamaican diaspora once complete. Many of them may not be ready to leave US, Canada or England just yet but they want to know they can hop on the next JetBlue and spend time in Negril or MoBay hassle free witht their own home. Hopefully, it brought many jobs to Jamaican local contractors! Big up yourself Jamaica!

    Why would I want to return to live in a community looking like this!!! Just watching the video shows that for such a nice located those with their fancy titles, contractors, architects and the developer had no vision. Community layout looks like an NHT plan, clustered, basic and of course like every other development in Jamaica they cant seem to plan with trees, vegetation in mind, they just strip away everything. Interior of the homes look choppy except for the larger home which has an open concept, they all should. What other amenities are in the the community other than just homes costing millions, recreation, football field, playground for kids, a community centre?

    Looks like a Camp site. And why are you guys building homes in the Caribbean where they have Hurricane all the time , and building these homes with those kind of roofs, and I am pretty sure these homes aren’t concreted or bricks homes . And I bet they are selling as if they are in the States .

    Okay first the houses are too close together. The houses are built the same and there is no yard and no 🌲 trees 🌲. Put some recreation buildings put swimming pools parks places for children built a pond. Somewhere couples can stroll at night. Be creative and make the place attractive. This thing that you have here is not selling.
    😒😒☹️😒😒 I'm sorry.

    Overpriced and undersized. $132,000 for the 3 bedroom!! At most that house is worth half that amount.
    I know it's still under construction at the time of this video but a community is more than just the houses.
    The landscaping is just as important, the streets should be lined with palm trees. The lot of every home should be well manicured and full of bright tropical foliage.
