The sound of the horns in G is fabulous !!! Giovanni Antonini ist a very great chief who has a total understanding of the spirit of this music, especially in the minuets.
Il terzo movimento, in tempo di minuetto, è detto "Menuet al Roverso" (ossia al rovescio, diremmo oggi) perchè strutturato da Franz Joseph in modo che la seconda sezione sia semplicemente la prima eseguita all'inverso, ossia rovesciata, rendendo il movimento "palindromo" appunto (da cui il nome attribuito all'intera sinfonia 47).
Il nome del compositore è Joseph Haydn, ma ha spesso usato la forma italiana Giuseppe. ‘Franz’ è un nome battesimale e non è mai stato usato; allo stesso modo, non ci riferiamo mai a Johannes Chrysostomus Wolfgang Theophilus Mozart.
