- find out why you should spend all of your money on the Mid49 black magic cinema 6k cage.
BTW, no one paid me to make this video. I just like the product and thought it would be cool to demonstrate how it works.

A build that actually makes sense for folks that are actively working in the field and not making ridiculous mirrorless rigs to look cool. I have an Ursa and have been looking at the new pocket for a B cam. 100% copying your rig if need be. Thanks for the vid,
I dont shoot black magic but I watched the whole thing. keep them coming!
Thank you bro! I feel like I found a nice flow w this one. I appreciate you watching. More on the way.
Tilta Mirage is amazing for the price. I legit have the bright tangerine misfit kick 3 with solid a ND set and a VND one tray setup.. yet I reach for the mirage more often than not.
Nice setup btw, just need that lens support (probably have one by now) and you're rockin and rollin!
Nice build! How did the Mofage Poco perform on production? From what I’ve seen online every stop of ND has a noticable color cast.
Mid 49 cage rocks, if I have more than enough money! I am pretty much sure Smallrig will knock this one off at a fraction of the cost. So patience is my virtue. Tilta has its version now as well as 8sinn...
Great cage and build, thanks for sharing!
Would’ve loved a production rig with wireless video transmission system, follow focus (for focus & zoom), DTAP splitter, arri rosette handles on both sides.
Btw, I’d bring the VMount closer to the camera since it swivels, so you save some footprint, have a more compact rig and also you can then move forward the rods for a follow focus on the Catta.
Also, do you need a lens support when pairing with a follow focus to avoid unwanted movements due to the motor putting pressure on the lens when rotating?
Great feedback! Honestly I could do a deeper dive in a future video. I didn’t have all the stuff on me for this one, but I would love to add these pieces. I think adding some proper handles with follow focus would be a nice upgrade. For now I wanted to mainly focus on this cage since there’s not a ton of videos on it yet. But yes, I think a lens support would be nice with the Catta!
I’m testing out the Lidar w/ Rs3 setup, creating a quick release build that will include follow focus. I will try to squeeze the full “production rig” into that video as well
Hi Bowen! Did you have to shim your adapter or lens at all?
@BowenMoreno i like your choices a lot, especially the quality built. but i doubt that there is THE perfect rig for everyone. the only (minor) things i don’t like are the minirods (just go with more cheeseplate) and the distance between the battery and the flipout screen. my sausagefingers could not handle the menu this way 😂
It looks like just about every other Rig that anyone else has done to their Pocket 4k/6k/Pro/FF
is it possible to use a cage with a gimbal at the same time?
Yes indeed! I’m dropping a video about this next week!
49 aint mid bro it slaps
hahaha got me with this.
it definitely is. you wont ever see this on a real set
you know it brotha
I am wondering why in the world would I spend $700 on a half cage when I can fish out similar rigging parts for around $400 for the 6K FF build and still have the option to slide out the camera with just the cage to mount on a gimbal very easily. Perhaps for some folks this build makes sense, I can't justify it yet.
I totally get where you are coming from. This video is completely focused on the most premium parts, it is definitely not "budget" conscious! I wanted to focus on gear that I might bring on to a commercial set.
@@BowenMoreno I understand this setup is probably a great fit for your needs. For me it makes doesn't make sense to spend nearly a $1k on a half cage for a $2500 camera! My response wasn't "budget" centric at all. I meant for the money it takes to build this half cage rig, it is possible not only build a full cage rig (with parts from different manufacturers for less) with all the components listed on your video it's also possible to channel the remaining budget on other accessories. Camera rigging solution is competitive industry so I guess it's all about strategizing on choices. Never had my build fail on me in commercial sets over the past couple of years.
@@ejazmehediwhat cage would you suggest
When people comment negative things I love to go look at their pages, it always gives me a good laugh,
Can't believe no-ones made extra cable protection for the piss weak 2 pin power plug to d tap cable , USB and hdmi gets it but nothing for the power .....
Rig cover your camera screen so you need to use a monitor... Place the batery over the camera and use the camera screen....
You lose me there

That’s not a BMPCC
@@Sethmotley oh my bad, it's another black magic piece of garbage
@@Sethmotley it's almost like it's in the same body style, type, and same build as a bmpcc 💁♀️ it's hard to tell the difference from one piece of trash rigged with Chinese aks from another

@@mid49films Its a pity you don't have a proper power solution without blocking the screen.
