The first setting you used (beautiful clean) is pretty much what I have mine set on at all times and I let my pedals do the rest of the work from there. This is a deceivingly loud amp though! Don’t be fooled by the word junior.

I have a Junior frm the late 1990s, first version. I almost sold it, but during the pandemic, looking for things to keep busy, I replaced the tubes and switched to an Eminance red white and blues speaker. Glad I did! Sounds fantastic. The tube change needed to be done, but didn’t have a tremendous effect on the tone, but the speaker sure did.

I’ve been playing a MIM Blues jr. for near 15 years. It’s everything I want and more on tone and volume. It would be complete with channel switching and tremolo. Compared to my old Pro Reverb I prefer the sound of the jr. It’s much lighter. Nice playing and tones!!! Thank you

Hello ! How about reliability ? No worries or problems since 15 years ? Thanks U

    • @musiqueurbaine
      @musiqueurbaine 2 года назад +2

@@mhoyoux as far as being reliable the Fender Jr guitar amp I have had no issues with the amplifier as a whole. It’s plenty clean when I want it to be and also has perfect saturation on demand. I generally play Blues and/or Country music. I’ll occasionally rock it out!!! It takes pedals very well. Plus it’s plenty loud for a 15 watt tube amp.
My only complaint is the reverb tank. I gave up on it. I use a digital reverb instead. On my made in Mexico amp even with a slight hit or if put down on floor slightly abruptly will break tiny wires that will break connection to the reverb tank. It’s repairable but difficult. On the other hand I don’t like spring reverb because it is very sensitive to movement. For that reason I use digital reverbs. Hoping this helps. 😉

Thanks for the great video. Just one comment: The fact that there are so many “how to get a nice sound from your blues jr” videos is kind of eloquent of how bad this amp is. After 5 years, I just cannot get my sound out of it. It just sound cheap. Is it good for home playing? Yes, so is any solid state amp costing 1/3 of the price. The fact is, I never had to watch a video to get my 65 twin reverb sound good. That’s because the 65 twin reverb sounds good!!!

I have found that turning the volumes wide open and turning on the boost with all the EQ's turned all the way down as a starting point, I can get some awesome tones by inching the EQ's up a little bit at a time starting with the Middle then add a bit of Bass and Treble last. I can then use the guitars tone and volume knobs to get it exactly where I want it. Oh, I also have a WHSE Veteran speaker.

I have had one for about 5 years and gigged regularly. It is a great amp but very heavy when you have to cart it from the car to the gig, and up and down stairs etc. The worst about it is that the control panel faces the wrong way which makes it awkward to adjust when you are on stage. Best is the clean tone for funk and soul bands.

...oh....you make me realize that my amp doesn't have a clean tone at all....the minute I crank either the volume or the master in any combination I get distorsion? should have the lamps checked?

Would you recommend this as the one buy budget beginner tube amp??

Yeah this would be great. Also Bugera amps are a real bang for the buck - I've never owned one but I've been impressed with them in stores.

Sounds great clean. Not so good with distortion.

I'v got the same amp and I love it! You've found great settings! Really perfect for my Tele... But if I play my Les Paul with the exactly same setting, sound becomes too "dirty"... Any suggestion?

Awesome! So I'd back off the settings a bit. Your pickups could very well be more aggressive than mine, there are a lot of factors at play.

@@JackFossett yes, if I roll down a bit the volume knob the sound stay clean longer... That's the way I'm doin (and roll down a bit the bass knob too). Anyway thanks and congratulations for your wonderful guitar playn!

I have 1 stupid question, Is this just the amp, no pedals? Just a guitar and amp? 😁

  • @jedcurry8560

How the hell do you have the Master AND the volume both set on 12 as in 1:38 without having to sit 1 1/2 miles away from the amp' ?!!!! I tried that and tiles slid off the roof and the windows shook !!!!! I'm sure the volume knob on the guitar could have ONLY just been on !!
