Krishna's Butterball, also known as Vaan Irai Kal, is approximately 6 meters high and 5 meters wide. It is situated in Mahabalipuram and has remained in its current position for centuries. The boulder is associated with the god Indra, the god of the sky and rain. In ancient times, the Pallava king Narasimhavarman made a failed attempt to move the boulder. In 1908, the British governor of Madras, Arthur Havelock, tried to move the boulder using seven elephants, but he was also unsuccessful. In 1969, a tour guide is said to have credited its present name, Krishna's Butterball, to Indira Gandhi, who was on a tour of the city. This is how it got its current name. Krishna's Butterball is a truly remarkable geological and cultural phenomenon, and a reminder of the rich history and heritage of Tamil Nadu, India.

So many temples in Tamil Nadu dont make any sense. Its pure divine. Nobody knows how they were built and what makes them the way they are. We only speak about temples in major cities like madurai, tanjore and chennai. Temples in small villages are built magnificent and makes me wonder how we lost so much knowledge.

முல்லையும் குறிஞ்சியும் முறைமையில் திரிந்து காணப்பெற்ற பாலைப் பகுதியில் “கொற்றவை” வழிபாடு நிகழ்ந்ததாகவும் சங்க நூல் வழியும், சங்கம் சார்ந்த சிலப்பதிகாரம் போன்ற நூல் வழியும் அறிய முடிகிறது. காடுடைய நிலம்.சேயோன் மேவுவது மேகம் சூழ்ந்த மலை உள்ள நிலம் .தேவர் குல மன்னன் மேவுவது மிகுதியான நீர் உள்ள நிலம். வருணன் மேவுவது மணல் நிறைந்த நிலம். இந்த நான்கு நிலங்களும் முல்லை, குறிஞ்சி, மருதம், நெய்தல் என்று முன்னோர் சொன்ன முறைப்படி சொல்லப்படும்.
திருமால்[மாயோன்], முருகன்[சேயோன்], இந்திரன்[வேந்தன்], வருணன்,கொற்றவை ஆகிய தெய்வங்களையும் கூறும் இந்நூல்.
மாயோன் என்றால் திருமால். தொல்காப்பியத்திற்கு பிறகு எழுதிய அகநானூறு புறநானூறு மணிமேகலை சிலப்பதிகாரம் போன்ற நூல்களால் தமிழ் ஆசிரியர்கள் இராமனை " கடலை அடக்கிய நெடியோன் ஆகிய திருமாலின் உருவம் இராமன் என்று " தமிழ் ஆசிரியர்கள் போற்றினர். இதில் இருந்து மாயோன் என்றால் திருமால் என்பது தெரிகிறது. பின்பு ஆழ்வார்கள் திருமாலை போற்றி மற்றும் வடமொழி நூல்களால் கிருஷ்ணன் மற்றும் பல பெயர்கள் வந்தது. Now I have a question for u 🤔🤔 சங்க இலக்கியங்களில் நம் தமிழ் கடவுள் முருகனை முருகன் என்று குறிப்பிட்ட வில்லை. சேயோன் என்று தான் கூறினார்கள். பின் எப்படி முருகன் என்று அழகான மற்றொரு தமிழ் வந்தது. தொல்காப்பியத்திற்கு பிறகு வந்த தமிழ் ஆசிரியர்கள் புகழ்ந்து வைத்த பெயர். இதே போல தான் தமிழ் நூல்களால் மயோன் என்று போற்றி பின் கிருஷ்ணன் மற்றும் பல பெயர்கள் வந்தன.
