@@InDepthOutdoorsTV I was trying to book with Marty Hahn. But he was booked up all week so he referred me to Denver McKinnon. Looking forward to the trip on Thursday.
I’m sure you guys cut a lot of them out, but we catch so many tiny walleyes and saugers in redwing. Were you doing anything special to catch those nicer fish?
I was out down river of the high bridge this day. Got a 23 incher a 21 and a half and like 8 or 9 little saugers.I wish i came up to say hi and meet you guys. Last week was alot better for me. Next week should be finally on. The maroon body with the white paddletail has been my confidence bait
James, You guys have some great shows. If weather, schedules, etc prevent you guys from getting out and filming a new show one week, I would love to see an episode (or maybe a web exclusive) of a whole bunch of your "incidental" catches. I'm sure you guys catch tons of pike, bass, drum, and all sorts of other fish while chasing those walleye and it would be fun to see all the non-target catches. Plus I bet the commentary when catching them has got to be hilarious.
Awesome! I called it on the way down there this morning that today's show would be p4. Couldn't buy a bite out there today, seen 4 fish caught out of probably 200 boats
I absolutely love that cold weather boat fishing like that keeps all of the (smart) people away lol I fish the upper Missouri river in ND and the best days I have are very cold and only o e or two other boats as crazy as I am to be in a boat in the fridgid temps like that so I love shows love this and would love to get you guys on the water here one February to get some big ND marble eyes!!!!
Need more co-hosts like Dean! Refreshing to have an "average-joe" personality in these shows. Although Dean seems far from "average" in his fishing abilities....
Heath Hathaway that bouy does not mark the 300' refuge line. Those signs are further upstream from where we fished. The red bouy near us was left there by the Corp of Engineers when they did improvements to the dam.
The red buoy was placed there last year when we had a Sturgeon Round up with the DNR tagging Lake Sturgeon. It has a receiver under it that records fish that pass by it with an implanted transmitter tag.
Curious Jim, did you make the drive back from the Fox River that next day(or same day) when you guys got done filming? I know by me the snow storm got rolling mid morning on Saturday.
Must of beat the brunt of the storm then? I just had notice in the video during the night there while you guys were filming it was already lightly snow some. Was over at the Peshtigo River Saturday and I couldn't get over how much snow they had gotten compared to here at home. One guy told me they got over 22 inches that weekend.
Great show James the Mississippi looks as brow as the Fox Rive is right now. That Rigging that you were using looks a little like a Wolf river rig. Keep the shows coming.
I'm actually going out on my first guided walleye trip to pool 4 in Red Wing minnesota.
We hope you have a great trip. Who you going with?

Both guys are very solid. You can't go wrong either way. Good luck on your trip!
@@InDepthOutdoorsTV now that's incredible to hear. Now I'm really looking forward to thursday.
Nice

Fishing shallow and using jig plastics or other artificial baits helps cut down on the small fish.
@@InDepthOutdoorsTV thanks- we might use too many minnows which contributes to our smaller catches
We rarely uses minnows when fishing red wing in the spring.
@@InDepthOutdoorsTV ok. Last thing I was thinking was your water depth. Must’ve been less than 10ft to get away with 1/4 Oz? Thanks for the tips!

fish with the old owner of everts (main access point) then put in at the DNR launch?
Why do you care where we launch?
@@InDepthOutdoorsTV just curious if there was a reason?
I always like in-depth Outdoors 🎣👍

Great to see two old friends still thumping pool 4 eyes. Nice show James makes me want to take a road trip.
Question ? Does it hurt the fish to grab them under the gills ? Especially if you are releasing them after the catch. I am new to walleye fishing.
You grab them by the gill plate, not the gills. Don't touch the gills.
Awesome video, love the Mississippi walleye shows!

good video!!
Maybe I didn’t catch it but were you just working current seams? Nice job guys.
Great video as always. Winter doesnt want to end
Great show as always! Curious though, what happened to this week's episode?

I thought you couldn't go past the red buoys in March and April? All the big females stack up in the Minnesota and Wisconsin corners.

InDepthOutdoorsTV Oh. Ok. I never fish up on Pool 4 during daylight. Lol. Usually never leave the lock either.
The red buoy was placed there last year when we had a Sturgeon Round up with the DNR tagging Lake Sturgeon. It has a receiver under it that records fish that pass by it with an implanted transmitter tag.
Hei great channel ☺ Keep it up!
Why do you refer to this spot as pool 4 at redwing when you look on google maps it says pool 3 redwing pool 4 is not even anywhere near red wing???
Lock and Dam 3 is at Welch Minnesota. The pool below Lock and Dam 3 is pool 4, near Red Wing, MN.
