One aspect of hill climbing that I enjoy the most is the family of hillclimbers. Dad or Granddad a past champion builds and maintains bikes for his son who marries hillclimbing gal and another generation of hill climbers is soon born. The nitro bikes are my favs.
I’m glad they let the little guys have a go that’s what it’s all about! I would have been all about this in my younger days ! I couldn’t find a hill steep enough in Appalachia 😂
yes, and it soothes my soul to see them struggle since they just don’t weigh enough 😂 (signed: a rock climber who is tired of seeing kids with their superior power to weight ratio glide up the wall next to me :)
I don’t understand why these kids fathers aren’t teaching their kids to keep there feet on the pegs as long as possible to keep the weight on the back tires I’ve never seen so many kids hanging there feet down I’ve always taught my kids to keep there feet on the pegs as long as possible, some one please teach these kids the right way to ride PLEASE !!!
I have way more control with my feet on the pegs. I see so many people that are always seated and crash a lot because their center of gravity is too high. And they have zero weight shift.
How stupid a slick muddy hill" with a super short runway:" good luck:" they should have made a mudslide, would of had more fun:"long live the" bultaco 350 frontiera
I don’t know I used to have a load of fun with my buddy’s seeing who could climb the longest tallest hills in Appalachia! Normally who ever had a fresh tire would win but every now and then an under dog would slip one under the door get where we couldn’t! You can have all the traction in the world but if you ain’t sending it your never gonna make the top you will loose all momentum!
In the 1960's I rode a few amateur hillclimb events. At every one I thought I would do better than I did. They're a load of fun, relatively safe, intellectually stimulating, and the more you ride them, the better you get. At 70 years old, now I sit and watch with a cigar & a beer! Check or my short "Monson Monster"❤
Pretty slick how all the fathers are able to “really” get into the sport (getting their spouse to accept the $$$ spent) by getting the children hooked up for “what daddy does” …family expenditures. 🤙 I know it’s expensive as the wife has a KTM 250 XCW and I have the KTM 300 XCW…it gets expensive!
westport wa.state here. i thank you for the first part of your show. most do not show the good parts. and that was the good part. to me.
The background music was some of the best ive ever heard!
Long live the CR500!
Leatherfoot GPMX

Thank you for watching! Check out the rest of the channel!
125cc class starts at 31:35 if you want to skip the zillion mini classes
Thanks... I love the kids and I'm glad they are having fun, but I like the bigger bikes!
The micro minis got the hill at its best. Way to go kids!
@@fredohl6239 Thank you for watching!
Grip it and rip it Brraaapppp ring ping ping ping RD350 💪🏻 2stroke4Life ✌🏻💚🙏🏻
A Vespa Modified Class would be fun to watch. That would make me grin.
How are there mono shocks in the vintage class? Are we that old?
That particular Vintage Class allowed bikes up to 1989. Upcoming 2024 Nationals will have 1984 as the cutoff.
My first time watching quads take a hill. Totally badass.
I’m glad they let the little guys have a go that’s what it’s all about! I would have been all about this in my younger days ! I couldn’t find a hill steep enough in Appalachia 😂
Nice video thanks. Rain sucked I bet. Poor kids had a heck of a time. Haha. But did good
Oh baby? Were did they find this guy. Go baby go ?
Those really long swing arms really help huh.... 😂😂😂😢, 😂😂😂.
The longer the arm, the farther the throw...over the handlebars. 🙂
im not really interested in the campground footage lets go!
The little rocket guys are cool.
There should be a separate small hill for the little guys ... so there is hope for getting to the top.
that so cool they have a kids class

It appears s steep enough and in the rain and mud. The ones in Europe appear a tad steeper and rocky. More power to both. I couldn't do it.
I love the American 'No Brain, But Plenty Of Muscle' physics. So funny 🤣
Have you seen the European hillclimbs?
Too bad there's no view from the top.

theres no “right way” to ride. its how u feel more comfortable. ive been riding for 11 yrs n still to this day occasionally keep my feet off the pegs.
I have way more control with my feet on the pegs. I see so many people that are always seated and crash a lot because their center of gravity is too high. And they have zero weight shift.
Probably the same reason why your father chose not to teach you how to effectively use the English language and writing…
@@Jacob0481 more concerning to me is how everyone addresses the ground as the floor.
Hopefully you're just as concerned with their literacy...
Lol, the rain made it interesting
Thanks for watching. The 2023 Nationals full video will be uploaded soon too!
those 125s are something else when their wide open 😂
I feel for the guy on the 4-stroke quad, a kid on a 50cc mini went further up the hill with 5 times less tread width.
in france thats the first hill we climb to get to the second steeper hill.
letting us see those trick bikes up close. now young kids get posters of them after seeing them up close. kind of hard to see while moving.
No problem. Thanks for watching!
Don't even bother putting in the title "ATV's" if you're not going to show them.
11:02
@@ushillclimbing That's what I mean though. Only a minute and a half out of a 2 hr 15 minute video? The ads last longer than that.
@@F5Tornado44 All the ATV’s that ran in the event are in the video.
@@ushillclimbing Aww come on, really? If that's the case, I apologize. That sure is a small turnout of ATV's then.
come on lol in the rain snd slick mud whats the sense
Thought you let the bike do the work not push it up the hill with your feet and legs.
Should have the ATV's go last. To show dominance over flat hill climbs. If it's all rutted from motorcycles, then the motorcycles will be dominate.
micro mini class beat the 65 class
This hill is WAY too easy. People were getting sideways and still easily making it up.
Got through about an hour and a half. It's better to be in it.
Thanks for watching!
I don't think I could ride DOWN that hill in the mud. I'm sure I couldn't go up.
Sorry I couldn't watch the whole video. It's 2;am
Looked like trying to ride a polished steel plate covered in bacon grease.

I had a Bultaco Lobito 250. I could ride a wheely for miles if I wanted.
they should have a track just for kids. there is no chance they accomplish something with that hill
ny dad never stood the pegs he coul ride the --- out of a motorcycle.
The cameraman uses the camera like a garden hose. Terrible!
?
That's a molehill.... Climb a real hill
What a shit show
this is a ridiculous event.

so pointless
Not 1 ATV climb. False advertisement. Will never watch this channel again because they LIED!!!

Cry more
