  • OpenAI released GPT-3 in June 2020 and followed it up with a newer version, internally referred to as "DaVinci-002," in March 2022. Then came "DaVinci-003," widely known as GPT-3.5, with the release of ChatGPT in November 2022, followed by GPT-4's release in March 2023.
Based on the trajectory of previous releases, OpenAI may not release GPT-5 for several months. It may further be delayed too! So, why is OpenAI's CEO Sam Altman taking this decision? Let's find out!

I don't think that ChatGPT 5 is unsafe. I think the risk is in how it can be used with AI Agent techniques. On it's own it will be a great resource that will help create some amazing content. Once integrated with a memory system, Agent like abilities to integrate through a problem, and given a task to do harm (assuming no control). That's when we have to worry. Version 4 or 4.5 could have the same problem if someone creates an army of AI agents focused on doing harm.
