Both guns here are winners. Have also seen videos comparing full sized SR9 to Glock 17 Gen 3. I agree that Ruger made a mistake with the down graded American and Security and should have stayed on track with the SR line. I have the full size SR9 first edition and upgraded the trigger to an APEX after the OEM recall for that issue, and installed after market fixed night sights that have big white dots for aged eyes. If I come across a 9C, I'll make a play for it too. Thanks for the informative presentation.
The glock 26 was my 1st striker gun. During holstering at a range the gun fired nearly hitting my body parts which will not be named. I sold it ASAP. After several yrs i again purchased a striker gun , the ruger sr9c. No issues, even like the safety. I have thought of trading it but keep changing my mind. It looks great, feels good immediately in the hand and has never jammed or failed in any way. I’m keeping it…P.S…i purchased the sr9c when they were 1st available for $299.00. A GREAT BARGAIN …IMO!
I always felt The Ruger SR series never got the credit it deserved. Have the SR40, and I have to say it feels like a 9 when I shoot it. Always wanted the SR9c
It’s going to be hard to sell a Ruger to these young guys that haven’t been in the industry for 10 years. When we were younger, Ruger was very very popular. I mean, still is but not so much to these younger guys.
Yeah but I’m not selling anything! Just expressing how I feel through my experience. I’m not getting a single cent from any of these companies and wouldn’t take it even if offered
I have to say that the factory trigger imo is very light. Maybe not for some people but it really suits me personally. Glad there are so many firearms these days to suit everyone's preferences.
Good video. As far as width, the SR9C Is narrower and immediately noticeable when you hold it in your hand. It has a narrower "waist" where your thumb and index finger grip the gun. Providing an easier reach to the trigger and the proper hold on the gun for smaller hands. It is also narrower in the rest of the grip than the G26. I have a large palm but medium length fingers. I cannot actuate the magazine release with my right thumb on G26/G19/G17 without adjusting my shooting grip. So I had to use my left/offhand thumb to release the magazine in IDPA events. The ambidextrous magazine release on the SR9C allows me to drop a magazine using the button on the right side with my index finger without releasing my shooting grip. It also works beautifully for left-handed shooters. And it is definitely better for smaller hands and most females. I have to get out my calipers because I simply do not believe that the Ruger SR9C is wider than a G26 except perhaps at the point where the traditional safety is.
I actually have that m&p compact 9 that you have. I remember asking you what you thought about it about 9 months ago and I’m not sure if you had it then but I’m glad to see you have one …I was gonna ask a question but I’m gonna just go watch the few vids you posted on it I’ve been saving them.
I learned on a Colt 1911 Ace 22LR, and owned several 1911 and 2011 pistols over two decades. It wasn't until the late '90s that I purchased a second gen G23 with no finger grooves and an extra 9 mm barrel for IDPA. I am not as talented as shooters that can switch back and forth between pistols with different grip angles. I can point and shoot a 1911 naturally with a 17° grip angle and a flat rear grip strap. Not so the G19/17 series with their 19° grip angle and arched lower rear grip. My shots start going a little high as I speed up. I found the bump/arch at the bottom rear grip on the G26 series to be the most annoying and distracting. A lot of different Glock models have come and gone through my collection. Not until the Glock 48/43x models came out that I found a Glock that fit my large palm and medium length fingers, and that I could also actuate the magazine release with my shooting hand thumb without breaking the grip/hold. The rear grip arch on my 43X was not a distraction, nor did it cause my point of impact to go 2 in high at 50 yards like a G26. I have been told by shooters with larger palms and longer fingers that they prefer the G19 over the same profile G48. But for me the G43x with 15 round shield magazines It's my favorite one yet... But it ended up getting passed down to my son. Oh well, I have the Hellcat to comfort me.
Kinda how those old hinged triggers were though. They felt like they may snap lol but to be fair, it wasn’t as popular and to my knowledge, wasn’t around for long either.
You know, I’m not sure. I feels like they wanted to produce cheaper products at the same price but that’s a good question! Probably having a manual safety on every sr series Firearm pushed a lot of people away
I know this is unrelated..got the complete slide..for the p 80 26..my trigger group just sucks it's a p 80.. shadow systems..has a kit..you ever use them..and I found a reasonable priced OEM Glock. What u think chief?
Oem Glocks are for sure worth it, will last a life time. Hooper gun works makes good, often time to spec triggers. Shadow system makes good triggers, apex and wheaton arms is my favorite
Update...you know that freaking spring there back by the trigger bar..well a light 🕯️ bulb went off..check the damn spring..it's a old trigger group.. yup..was in upside down..the damn thing cycle right..that little shit spring can upset the whole process..freaky..I'm going to blast this thing tomorrow..like dirty hairy..be safe..

This is an awesome piece of machinery. (SR9c). Been carrying this as my EDC from 2010 to present.

I aggre, gun is a beast! I removed mag disconnect. Forget Talon grips. I added a Hogue for glock 43, nicer palm swell. Great gun. Good review.

@@spnfirearms well I meant sell it to them as in make them believe Ruger makes a good quality gun.
I have to say that the factory trigger imo is very light. Maybe not for some people but it really suits me personally. Glad there are so many firearms these days to suit everyone's preferences.
I bought 5 of them sr9c, best guns out of all the other guns I have
I love my SR9c

I have both it I lean to my SR9C for every day wear
I got the sr9 and the sr9c both are great!
That's my favorite Ruger. I regret selling it.
Get a new one! They are so cheap now. My favorite ruger as well!
@@spnfirearmsthere are no “new” ones . They stopped making them
Ruger really has an awesome lineup. I want to get a bunch of their 22 staff to cross platform and have cheap ammo to practice with.
Yes they do! Love their products. Respect!
Ruger Security 9 mags also fit in the Ruger SR9c.

You have to replace the striker on the Ruger with a metal striker from Galloway Precisionand makes it very reliable.
SR9c for me.

Do you have insights with 22LRs? Rugger LCP Max 22LR or Glock 44 22LR?
Kinda how those old hinged triggers were though. They felt like they may snap lol but to be fair, it wasn’t as popular and to my knowledge, wasn’t around for long either.
Yes this trigger is actually pretty decent. Very crisp
@@spnfirearms oh yeah the sr is like worlds different man I agree.
I don’t know the history of it but do you know why Ruger stop producing the SR’s? Were they not selling? Thanks!

@@TheRichieBenso they could try to get military contract with the American.
@@evaneason6906 ok thank you!
@@TheRichieBen yes sir.
Have you tried the HK VP9SK? Been debating to go with either that vs a glock26 with a pinky extension.
What slide is that on the 26?
Great video
I have two his and hers
Nice cuz. 💯🙂👊👌👍✌️🙏
I had one for awhile it was just was ok.
Got a Glock 27 edc myself
Love my 27! Have some content on it coming out this week
7:25 f it, why choose? U look good dual wielding them 😂
Haha respect! I went back and looked and they actually look awesome together!
Nice comment on ChrisTv

I assume you knew the back strap on the ruger was reversible
I placed a ghost trigger connector in my SR40c. 🤌🏽
