Bravo. One of the best biographical films I have seen. It's so nice to hear you speaking so frankly and simply about a guide's life. A film without all the hype, yet showing the natural beauty and extremeness of our mountains. Thank you for sharing.
This footage would look so good if it was color graded. Also subtitles on screen are needed for those scenes. Music should duck, entire track was low volume. Song selection when he talks about losing his friends should tug at your heartstrings, the piano beat track isn't doing that for me in that moment.
Did you guys upload the wrong version of the film or something ? This feels like a fine stage edit, not like a final / mastered one. There are a bunch of shots that are not color graded, the sound mix isn’t finished with some SFX that are on only the left channel, the edit isn’t fully tight. And I feel the music choice when he is talking about risk and loosing friends to avalanche is at best not great as it completely lessens the impact of what he shares with an upbeat pop song. There’s a good story there but the quality isn’t what TNF has gotten us used to…
Love me some Chamonix and North Face. Spouse asked me where do you want to celebrate your 50th Birthday? Chamonix - no brainer, climbed the Dent the day after Le Tour Ronde with a freaking perfecto guide with a resume of firsts around the world. My summit present? Canned Foie gras and toasted brioche and of course an amazing view of mountains in 3 countries. Cheers

Great film @mike Arnold 🔥🔥🔥
Nice to see and discover the deeper story of a good friend!
Spectacular. Chamonix is in my top 2 goals for where to live for ski mountaineering (along with Jackson, WY).

No 4K? It’s 2022
Sounds like you are getting more accustomed to other pleasures of the mountains besides adrenaline. Welcome!
