His voice was a caress of an angel wing , swiping gently on your heart .... I miss him as hell ❤️ he is the undying definition of class, elegance and beauty mixed together....
I listen in tears . . for the fictional Lenore, and the very real silken sad voice of Alan Rickman. One of the Greats, Old time, new time, Great Forever . . . And then, one of the Great American Poets, E. A. Poe, he who invented the American Short story, and stories of unspoken horror long before horror movies . . . a Timeless combination. A MUST HEAR often.
I sit here, stunned and listen, perched upon my cushioned seat, While in my eyes tears do glisten, and more slow my heart doth beat, That music in this man's voice takes my soul to that distant ancient shore. And we shall hear his measured speech, quoth the raven, 'Nevermore.'
Mr. Rickman's acting is subtle and marvelous. I particularly loved him in Sense and Sensibility. I paraphrase: "Give me something to do, or I shall run mad!" He can do hero or villain with equal ease.
MY FAVOURITE PART! I think he said something "Give me an occupation or I shall run mad." But I could be wrong. I will have to watch it again. He was so wonderful! 😢❤
I saw him live in a Japanese modern play years ago...couldn't understand it,but just to see him, hear that voice and be in the front row...sigh!Amazing man
There is no one else I would want to listen to read this. Alan Rickman’s voice and Edgar Allan Poes poetry goe together like peanut butter and jelly. A perfect combination.
No words of mine own could convey the soul of this poem as he spoke it. Never did I understand the emotional longing and emptiness of this poem. And, let me say yay, ‘tis nevermore. . . Some souls you feel deep within and they shall never be gone. . . 🥀 🐦⬛🐺🐕🦋🐈⬛🌿🌲🌱
There's no acting here. It's AI. I imagine his real reading would have more fear, urgency, and heartbreak. Yes, the words sound beautiful, but this poem deserves more and is not a tribute to Alan. It's a cheap copy.
I found this much more enjoyable than any other version read by real people. The rhythm, the consistency, beautiful presentation of subtle emotions made it so lively. And I also like the background music so much. You did a wonderful job composing this.
I'm amazed, soothed, and yet a bit cautious about the generation of beautiful voices that are no longer with us. It will be an interesting journey to see where this leads humanity.
I do feel that we are being hoodwinked though. AI is good in some ways but we are being sold a lie. It’s all so artificial and people are believing it.
Of course allen rickman, Played severas snape and Harry Potter. If you think about the raven written by Edgar, Allan Poe change out the name Lenore for Lily and it pretty much describes. How severus felt about Lily potter, And how the phrase in the poem the lost lenore ,can also be compared to lily being murdered the" lost Lily ." Because in Poe's poem, Lenore was dead. And in harry potter lily was dead. And this poem sounds like something that the character of severas snape's would have in his many volumes of books in his home when he wasn't at hogwarts teaching. I have always pictured severas snape Having this particular poem and his rather large collection of( Lost lor.) Metaphorically speaking to snape's large collection of books.
Basil Rathbone is the king of this poem, but damn does Alan Rickman come close. This reading is so somber and melancholy. Its gray undertones and utter bleakness is captivating.
Because of a fanfic where the MC thought of organizing a theatre club in Hogwarts I get the feeling that Mr. Rickman's gravitas is being paid some tribute there when MC decided to request that he be the drama club's adviser~
I can imagine Snape reading this in regreat of telling Voldemort part of the prophecy that lead to Lily's death. Lily Evans Potter is Severus Snape's lost Lenore. Lost her into the arms of his hated enemy James Potter and lost her life from his former master Lord Voldemort.
The music is a bit of an odd choice. The poem is essentially a man having a mental breakdown, but the music is all upbeat and hopeful. Very strange juxtaposition.
He obviously has a great voice, but I can always tell the difference between someone that has memorized it versus someone that's just reading it. This is a decent version, but he completely misses a lot of the internal rhyme schemes, but most people do. And that's the difference between someone reading it versus actually studying it and memorizing it..
Agree! That's why I don't think it is Alan Rickman doing this. This is Professor Snape reading The Raven. The real Alan Rickman would have known how to READ this properly.
This is an insult to Alan Rickman. The description says it’s an AI voice. The video uses his speaking voice but none of his performance. I wondered why it was so bland. Shame on the creator for doing this.
AI sucks. This reading lacks any appropriate emotion. There's no urgency, no fear. It sounds like he's reading a Valentine card. A real human would add what is needed.
Your comment is beyond irrispectful to a really fine artist work. Do everything from Allan Poe has to be read as scary? Seriously???If there's something that really sucks is your pov , beside your ignorance.

Well, he did play the Metatron in Kevin Smith's "Dogma", the Voice of God as he is known. God bless ol' Alan.
Beautifully said. Yes and yes 🙏👼👼👼

His voice plucks my heartstrings.
This is amazing. If only he could have graced us with a reading of this poem before he departed this world.
I think even Poe himself would approve of that reading ❤
By reading, you mean type into AI generator? 😂😂 I’m so gutted this isn’t really him
Professor Severus Snape , reading The Raven before teaching a class.
my favorite poem from one of my favorite British actors of all time = perfection🖤
Stately measured pace through the poem start to end just as it should be.

Thank you for listening!
"Why Severus," cried Dumbledore, "I never knew you had it in you!"
Alan Rickman was wonderful in Sense and Sensibility. His passing was a great loss to movies, theater, and the public.
The shivers! Dear lord I almost broke my spine!
Always...
Such a stunning reading by Mr Rickman. One of the greatest actors of any generation.
He didn't read it. It's fake. It's in the description.
This is artificial intelligence, AI, gracing us with Mr. Rickman's glorious voice. Oh, that he had actually read this himself before we lost him.
I found this much more enjoyable than any other version read by real people. The rhythm, the consistency, beautiful presentation of subtle emotions made it so lively. And I also like the background music so much. You did a wonderful job composing this.
Just as the Raven said it all in one word - Nevermore - so said Snape in one word, also - Always!
Obviously!
Alans the best

I love this reading. It's like if Professor Snape had taught Spooky Literature instead of Potions.

Thanks, Alan. I've been studying this poem very closely.
he was cast as the Metatron for a reason...
A much more melancholic romantic reading than some of the spookier ones
Thank you for this.
Damn. Always like the Raven. Edgar Allen Poe was the best. Never heard it better. Alan Rickman. Noone could speak it better. Nevermore.
My favourite poem beautifully narrated
Alan Rickman and Edgar Allen Poe are a perfect mixture for me. R.I.P Alan Rickman ❤
Wow. I didn't think I'd ever find a reading which equalled Christopher Lee's reading, but this comes damn close.

Would that Poe met Alan at heaven's door and said sing to me the Raven and sing it evermore!
Such an excellent voice.

I'm not as big of fan as my nieces but I was proud after I took their test and I was Slytherin house. Snape gave everything for his "elanore"

Does this exist anywhere without the music???
btw, can I request an audio poem? You would nail it with your AI voicing knowledge. "The Land of Heart's Desire" by William Butler Yeats.
The music is a bit of an odd choice. The poem is essentially a man having a mental breakdown, but the music is all upbeat and hopeful. Very strange juxtaposition.

@@Annagramma-u7x You'd be surprised with what AI can do these days. This is AI voicing.

There is no need of a soundtrack. There is no need to impose a mood upon the prose. Poe's talent needs no assistance from the peanut gallwry.
