Model an AWESOME clapper bridge

  • The inspiration for this diorama came from a walk around Postbridge on Dartmoor. The main road from Moretonhampstead to Princetown goes over a stone arch bridge and, running parallel to this, is the original clapper bridge. Instead of making an exact replica of the bridge, I have taken the main features which interest me and created something similar.
    This diorama gave me the opportunity to work with DAS clay, Woodland Scenics resin and of course a range of static grass, scatters and seafoam, which I purchased from WWS and the model shop at South Devon Railway.
    I hope my video is of interest to anyone who enjoys making dioramas, model railways or war gaming layouts.
    I hope you agree that the final photographs demonstrate how easy it is to create something that looks realistic. Why not have a go yourself?
    In this tutorial, I mentioned two other videos which might be of interest:
    Model dry stone walls • Model dry stone walls
    Woodland Scenics Deep Pour Water • Woodland Scenics Deep ...

    Fantastic diorama Andy, I have nearly caught up on all your videos now and I am simply blown away by the level of skill you are showing. They make excellent tutorials as well as you don't skip things and all is explained clearly to allow us lesser mortals to have a bash as well! Having just returned from the Dartmouth area and visited Totnes, Dartmoor, Dittisham etc I can probably appreciate your dioramas set in the local landscape even more. Superb mate. Only one little request, could you do a mini tutorial in one of your videos on how you make those superb bluebells and daffodils please? My own layout Kingsbridge Junction is based on a might have been if Brunel had persuaded the Admiralty to allow him to build a bridge over the Dart at Dartmouth and the tutorials on Devon bank hedges, streams and barns will be well used! Cheers Steve

    Beautiful work! Love the attention to detail! Your dioramas look so realistic, especially when you photograph them in a real world location! 😁😎

    Can you explain why you spray water and washing up liquid to your grass before adding scenic glue? What does the soap do? Great vid as usual BTW.

    • @DartsideScenics
      @DartsideScenics  2 года назад +1

      Thank you. If you put scenic glue on certain scatters/powders, it can bead and make a bit of a mess. The watered down washing up liquid breaks the surface before applying the glue. You can also use isopropyl alcohol.
