My doctor showed me how to use in office when they suggested it, and they told me TO take a deep breath through my nose while spraying to get deep into the sinuses
The fact that doctors give you the medicine and they don’t even tell you how to use it. No wonder my allergies are getting worst it’s because of the way I use it
@@drow488They told me to stick it all of the way up my nose, spray, then breathe in deeply, but that makes it go to the back of your throat, so even though they will say “how to use it” it ain’t always the best way. ☺️
@@DancingJoyceSorry to hear that. My pharmacist instructed me to aim towards the side wall with a 30* angle away from the middle line to not have the spray shoot into my nostrils and stay in the nose area, so unfortunately that particular pharmacist was misinformed
I’ve been using fluconazol nasal spray for years now on Perscription but i don’t understand why my nose gets even more blocked and inflamed after using it? I’ll try using it the way you have shown and see if this helps 🙏🏼
Thanks for the tips, doctor! I wasn't sure how to use the nasal spray, and sadly, I put the nasal spray all the way up my nose and snorted it a little. I wish I had seen this clip before applying the first dosage... will apply your tips on the next dosage!
thank you doc as soon as i tried it the right way my stuffy nose went away i been dealing with it for years lemme tell you and not one doctor told me how to use it correctly i realized i been swallowing the medication the whole time
Thanks doc, the way i do it before was just stick it up straight, and i'll sneeze just after 1st pump lol, when i follow your instruction my nose can finally feel more relieved
This is extremely helpful as i have to use spray 3 nasal sprays because of my allergies, all of them dripped down to the back of my throat, my question is, is it bad if i ingest it? My sprays consist of: dexpanthenol, azelastin, fluticasone
Some of it is bound to be ingested naturally, but I would try to avoid it and let the medicine work where it needs to work, which is in your nasal tissues.
My doc and the pamphlet showed to inhale deeply. All I am tasting a bitter yucky 🤮 taste afterwards. I used this like you said for some time it was okayish did not snort
I am so glad. It’s amazing that doctors don’t tell patients how to use it. I have patients who were doing it wrong for years and then stopped using it because they stated it didn’t work.
I need an answer how many sprays do I need for me I’m 12 but I have an adult weight so idk how much do I need to spray to my nose I need an answer asap
I just another video about using it correctly which worked amazing, but never thought of squeezing my nose afyer lol It worked better, it feels like it actually sticks inside and isnt going to run down of my nose
There is no best as every medicine works differently for different people. You may have nasal septal deviation or very large nasal tissue that only surgery would be the best option.
Thanks so much! I didn’t know I had to squeeze my nose. My doctor told me not to lean back and to look at my toes when applying it. That got me confused though because when I applied it that way, all of it would start you leak out right away. Thanks so much for the clarification!
Hey doc question I covid about 3 weeks ago and ever since I tested negative and felt better my muscles in my back have been very achy like up and down my back I never experienced any like this in my life just a burning sensation sometimes light sometimes heavy
😂😂 all these years ive been snorting it! Even though i get the bad taste, it still works coz I was thinking it would cover more area. Most of the time my nose is soo blocked that I can't snort it if i wanted to. You did us all a public service Dr. I'm gonna try it ur way next time. Is Nasonex the best nasal spray or it doesnt matter?
So do not inhale even alittle? Won't the spray just run out of your nose if you don't breathe some of it in? Or the med will go to where it needs to go after u spray?
Hi doc. I’ve been advised to take fluticasone 2 puffs for daily basis since am having nasal polyp and sinus allergy. I was doing the step in wrong way so I felt like swallowing the medicine which I take..now I understood the correct step.. but now I got nervous does this swallowed fluticasone drops makes any side effects?
This is interesting because on the packaging for the 'Mucinex Sinus-Max Clear & Cool' nasal spray, it states to "sniff deeply" after spraying it into your nostril. So is this an error on their part or is it different for every nasal spray??
So when I spray it in the air I see a big spray but when I spray it in my nose, I feel almost no spray. Is that normal? I'm simply following the instructions from my doctor who told me to spray twice in each nostril every morning and when the bottle is in my right nostril, to tilt the bottle so that it sprays in the direction of my right eye and the same in my left nostril toward my left eye.
I mean.. the Afrin directions literally say: “Without tilting head, insert nozzle into nostril. Fully depress rim with a firm, even stroke and SNIFF DEEPLY.” So we aren’t supposed to sniff deeply?
Naturally one nostril "closes" and changes sides every few hours because of blood vessels expanding so it could just be that but if your worried id try to ask a doctor
Pls. Sir, I need help I have been suffering from catarrh for upto a yr now. It comes and go. I have tried lots of antibiotics, antiallergy. And now I'm tired and frustrated
Used Simply saline to clean then Aller-Flo I can feel the nostril decongest as I’m speaking. Thanks. Also there’s no instructions on the product which I find weird.
I have some kind of allergy. Because of it I was having runny nose and throat pain and sore. Ear pain as well. I tried everything, it isn't working well. On internet I heard about allergic nasal spray. It's working like magic I don't have sore throat much now. But I am using it 1 time in gap of 2-3 days. I am worried if I get any side effects.
It depends on the nasal spray. Most nasal sprays are two sprays in each nostril once a day, but some people find that doing one spray in each nostril twice a day works better for them. Read the package insert and you can even ask your doctor or pharmacist, how it was prescribed for you.
The other doctor on the video before this one actually suggested that we should inhale it to get it through inside the nose, which is totally opposite of this one. God knows who is right 😂
The nasal steroids are now over-the-counter so many people are trying these for their allergies and seeing if they help. You probably should see your physician though to make sure they look at your nose and do a complete exam.
Oh my God I was using it the wrong way, thank you Doctor
You’re so welcome. I wish more physicians would educate people on exactly how to use it.
@@doctorvinnie I will educate those around me, thank you

Dang it I’ve been snorting Azelastine and it tastes so bad. I’m going to try this.
Yes, definitely don’t snort the nasal spray.
Same
Too late for that doc
The azelastine OTC tastes bad the prescription azelastine doesn’t
Lol same. Shit was bad!!! Lingered in my throat the whole day 😂

Same. So, do we or do we not take a deep breath?

Super helpful! Thanks for the tips! Question: how soon can you lay down after spraying and squeezing?
So welcome. It depends as you don’t want to taste the medicine going down the back of the throat. 30-60 minutes should be sufficient.

It is different for every type of nasal spray. For topical steroids, never sniff
