  • The short version of my Diamond T "Go Cart". A 1949 Diamond T Model 201
I picked the chassis up for spare parts for my running/driving model 201 and I had no history on the chassis. The only thing I knew is that it had been setting outside for a few years. So for the fun of it and to checkout the condition of the engine and drive train, this happened.
My driving Diamond T can be see here:

Beautiful countryside. The seating on this Diamond T, looks on par with the comfort of a unicycle saddle.

Yes the low pressure gravity feed works most but not all the time. I have since added a fuel pump and low elevation gas tank.

Fun video Jim. has the prewar deluxe steering wheel and 16" dual wheels. Thought it was a 306 at first. Like all your videos, thanks for making them.

Thanks for the comment! Actually the steering wheel is from a 1937 Buick. I found it on a junker many years ago.

@@jimthode The Diamond T in my thumbnail has a '37 Buick steering wheel! I made a DT horn button to fit (cast from zinc alloy).

@@DiamondTTrucks Interesting. The 37 Buick wheel I used has 5 rods per spoke. Looks like the one you used was 39 Buick and had 3 rods per spoke.

@@jimthode I think you are right about the '39 Buick steering wheel. FWIW, the original early Diamond T deluxe banjo wheel had the five round rods (like your Buick) and the later (40-up?) had two flat spokes with a single round rod in the middle. The Buick wheel on the '49 in my video was as close as I could find at the time.
Additionally, the '40> DT deluxe wheel was almost identical to the 1940 Graham Hollywood wheel.

Jim!! Is this your old Diamond T from your older video's? I love that truck!! I remember your previous video's where you were hauling wood in the old T. You must be in the process of doing a restoration??
