5:52 wat i said here applies to both elemental damage and supplemental damage with the difference of sup damage being a proc chance and elemental damage only working against enemies with elements. I wanted to do a clarification, both elemental bonus and supplemental damage get applied even after hitting your regular damage cap, which is why those 2 are really strong, and also work well with each other. since those 2 are ways to get additional multipliers after youve already reached the damage cap.
Really cool to hear about Supplementary Damage. I suspected that it worked like that, and from the first time I saw it I wanted more. I play a lot of Lancelot and he attacks incredibly quickly so it feels extra comfortable for me. If I see a + Sigil that has Drain or Combo Booster on it on top of its base effect, I tend to equip those too since it lets me heal minor damage without burning a potion, or hit a little harder for playing the way I'm supposed to anyway. I'm considering looking for Cascade as well since the best thing I can bring to a team is Kaltzwinger's Glaciate and if I'm going to be hitting so many times so fast anyway, I may as well shorten my best utility's cooldown too. I still have a lot to learn since I'm actually pretty new to RPGs, but it's been a fun process.
You could also go for maximum SBA gage gain to give it to other players since you can build it faster than almost anyone else in the game. Could let your team get an extra chain burst off in the fight.
@@quickpawmaud That's another strong consideration for me as well, yeah! Do you know what governs SBA build? Is it purely amount of hits done or is the outgoing damage also a factor? What other ways could I optmize how fast Lancelot gains SBA other than just, his base?
keep in mind dat cascade actually scales with your attacks speed. i dont know the particular numbers, but quick multi hit attacks refresh your cooldown at a lower % per hit than slow strong attacks.
There seems to be a cap on drain healing as well, I noticed I was only healing for 500 on normal swings (higher on finishers and specials) as Siegfried when I should have been healing more based on the damage I was doing per swing.
It is literally called "supplemental damage" there is lvl 4 and lvl 5 versions of it. additionally some characters can gain supplemental damage from their skills, like percival and narmaya.
yes it applies a multiplier but only for dat specific type. so if we were to use the basic formula like in the video. if we would do 100 damage with a charged attack it would do 119 (and then dat gets multiplied by other stuff if there is more multipliers)
So Elise, I heard that a general rule of thumb is that you are not hitting the damage cap if your ATK is below 10k. I was working on building support with Flight over Fight and was wondering what your thoughts on that were.
my captain support/tank build actually centers around flight over fight, and it uses 0 damage sigils c: most people dont want to play something like dat but i think its really cool. if i can finally get the build going (need 2 more sigils i dont have yet) i will actually make a video on it.
Are you sure that is how crit works? Pretty sure I have gotten a range of crit number just like the range of noncrit attacks. If it is always max roll every crit should do the same damage right?
perhaps you are hitting different body parts (weakpoints etc) cus dat can change damage numbers. im 100% sure of my crit explanation as it actually said so in the ingame glossary in lyrias journal. dats where i actually got it from lol
well, dats where utility sigils come in as mentioned x) if you wanna be tankier, just put on utility sigils dat make you more tanky, altho dat wont help you much with the first proud fight. versa is both one of the hardest and easiest fights in the game. your itemization wont matter much as many of his mechanics will oneshot regardless. versa is really all about dodging and learnign the fight mechanics, so not the best example :P
@@GBF_Relink_Guides there just seems to be misconception that using any defensive or utility is a damage loss when some can be a damage gain throughout the entire fight. I see too many people sleeping on things such as sigils that empower dodges and get easily clipped and are sitting there dead. I'd always suggest a base priority on defense/utility before investing into damage depending on personal preferences. Like im an aggressive player so dodge improvements with more immunity and attack bonuses is where I shine but for those that dont improved block will stop a lot of downtime. sorry for the long response. no hard feelings. a lot of online play has uh...got me prickly on things like this. @@Clavitz1 dont get me wrong, i love defense. i mainly play support/healer/tank even in relink and im not a fan of the full damage builds myself. i actually have a dedicated video for defense called defense 101 where i extensivly talk about it. just dis video was more focused on explaining how damage works and how to create a basic build as i got multiple messages and comments per day asking me about builds and how to improve damage etc. so obviously i made a video focused around dat at the time. but i couldve invested 20 more seconds in the video talking about utility sigils as i pretty much just went 'once you have all the damage you want pick something with utility' which apparently didnt came across well enough as 'you dont have to go full damage' as it seems like you got dat impression from the video.
@@GBF_Relink_Guides ah i see. Ill just say my bad then. water under the bridge. I've been tempted on making a support build with Gran/Djeeta, at least for quick play as I come across a bunch of progressing players and it's nice to help without carrying too much.

I dont have one, i never use lance and i dont have the abilities to properly test and calculate roll of the die. i generally dont ever consider using it.

Great video, easy to understand. Dont quite trust that sun tho

@LeoKRogue just use an uplift sigil or maybe linked together I guess. Could try the Stunner weapon as well.
