hewwo, press the chat button and then square to toggle sba from auto to hold. dat way they wont use their sba by themselves. on ps5 controller its touchpad + square, idk on the other controls

i dont really like making build videos since i consider them rather low effort, high saturated content, but youd probably be able to learn a lot from my reworked builds. the build videos i made in the past have been improved upon a lot, and i came up with a purely dedicated tank build for the captain dat does respectable enough damage to at least be able to contribute. and i also have a tank/support hybrid build dat is build around the terminus weapon health cap to be able to still do quite a lot of damage, while also being really tanky (talking up to 200k effective health on a terminus build)

@@GBF_Relink_Guides I don't have the terminus weapon but your defense 101 video helped me so much.

they are needed to reach your damage cap, which is very individual and depends on the player as well as their character. generally crit is very strong until you reach actual endgame builds where you have to put a bit more effort into the build to reach the cap. but in the end, no offensive stat in the world mean anything if you dont have a high enough damage cap.

i actually use strong hold in my cagliostro tank/sup build, its pretty nice. but yea, not being able to be a + sigil really hurts it (at least ive not seen a stronghold v+)

@@GBF_Relink_Guides Yeah most things you want to survive is one hits. So Garrison isnt the most optimal. So stronghold being upfront def feels nice.

@@blankx15 yea, im running stronghold on my terminus tank/support cag build, but for my usual tank builds i prefer ascencion weapon with garrison since the 70% just is an insane value

youre probably better off trusting your damage calculator thingy. ive never used it, so i dont even know wat it looks like neither do i care. i just play the way i like playing, sowwy i cant really help you.

Okay after more math and consideration I'm landing on health, crit rate, normal attack damage cap, and stun power. Then with both crit rate and stamina sigils you hit all the caps pretty precisely with the exception of the final hit of the charge attack, which overcaps by ~40%. That still seems better for overall damage output than a chain burst damage overmastery. It does necessitate a crit rate sigil that's not present in your build, but I still think I like how all the numbers shake out. I'll try to replace your defense up and stoutheart during charge attacks sigil with the crit rate.

@@TitaniaPie yea i didnt like having dat sigil effect myself, pretty sure i talked in the video about how theres a few sigils id like to switch out for better stuff, but just didnt have it at dat time. dats also why i didnt bother using crit, i dont have crit masteries, crit wrightstone etc and with my shitty 50% crit its not worth investing into it, hence why i opted into stamina. anyway, hope youll have fun with the build

just focusing on increasing your attack is very bad and inefficient. its a very common mistake. you should be trying to get different multipliers to reach actually high damage. i have a video called sigil 101 dat explains the basic concepts of how damage works, and showcases some example builds for newer players. if you truely want to understand how dat stuff works, please watch dat video (dont just skip to the builds and copy, its best if you actually learn to understand why these builds work)

when you open the quick communication wheel (i dont play on mouse and keyboard, just look for it in your keybinds) the top option is the toggle. when you press dat the bottom left status will change from holding sba to auto sba. depending on your gameplay settings in the game settings they will sba as soon as it comes up or alternativly as soon as everyone is in range for a full chain burst.

Dis is not my actual build. I only slapped as much damage on as i could. I play a support/tank cagliostro hence why my damage sigils arent leveld up etc. I was just being lazy and cared about nothing else than damage. I didnt bother testing how much i need to reach cap, its a no damage one time run and as such only needed to do the most dmg i cpuld do

if you’re on playstation the way you do it is pressing the touchpad and then square and then they’ll wait til you use it to use theirs

@@yansnuar Hope I'm not too late, but hit (select) on controller during battle and you can toggle between AUTO and HOLD. When HOLD is chosen your AI buddies won't use their SBA until after you do first, so you can just wait with everyone at 100% until you hit the DPS checks and then let a full burst rip. Cheers.

for dis build? do not use it, it will actually hold back your team. theres a reason why i said dis build is hard to use and requires a lot of game knowledge. dats an automatic no for the ai captain. also ai captain generally doesnt even use arts levels etc properly so i dont like having them in my team even as a dps or something else.

ah i appreciate it. it actually took me forever to find a formula dat calculates the same health/dmg values i got from testing XD im really bad at math

i was kinda holding off on making a dedicated content on block because the block gauge being hidden and it being extremly difficult to meaningfully try to figure out how block ACTUALLY works in the game. we would need modding tools to display a lot of the hidden data and see wat exactly influences blocking. just very difficult to make a comprehensive and meaningfull list with the current tools we have for figuring out the inner workings of the game. also i think stuff like which attacks to block over which ones to dodge is highly dependant on build, context of the battle and player skill. imo as long as people use guard dodges they should be fine in general. but i dont even know how common knowledge guard dodging is.

It seem block work not on the damage but on a hidden stagger state, per attack blocked. I can block alot of little attacks that total more damage then i can a 2 big ground aoes

the best combination is highly dependant on wat YOU want to achieve. theres no universal best thing dat applies just to everyone because there is way too many factors to consider. playstyle, sigil build, character, skill setup, dps uptime (to proc things like faster cooldowns), team setup, role and also just how much tankiness you want to have.

Also is a defense up buff considered another entirely separate source or would it stack the way crabvestment stacks with damage cut?

@@Hawntbawt i did explain it but its a long video so its fine c: its a lot of info. any defense buffs you get are into the 'defense' category, which acts as its own multiplier. crabvestments effect IS damage cut, dat is why its additive with damage cut buffs. if you run stronghold max lvl, not sure how much it is. lets say 30% defense, youd gain a 0.7 multipliar on the damage taken, and with crabvestment another 0,9 multipliar. so DMG X 0.7 X 0.9 = damage you take. alternativly to calculate your total damage reduction. 100 X 0.7 X 0.9 = 63% damage taken if you combine garrison with 30% def and cravestment. keep in mind stronghold gets weaker as your hp gets lowered. i hope dis helps

A simpler way of saying it is if the game uses the term “defense” instead of “damage cut”, is all “defense” a single bucket or are they all separate instances/sources
