I was listening to to talk radio , here in Toronto , Ontario. Frankie Randall the star of this movie was being interviewed , along with a Toronto friend that owned a restaurant, he was performing at the restaurant , I went to see him play piano and sing . A short time later I was watching a rerun of flipper and Frankie Randall did the theme song , for Flipper I asked him to play it when he returned he did and all the young wait staffed stopped to listen , sadly he did not remember all the words.RIP Frankie.
On this day in 1965 {August 25th} the movie "Wild On The Beach" had its world premier... The Astonauts perform the open theme plus "Rock This World", "Little Speedy Gonzalez", "Pyramid Stomp", and "Snap It"; none of these songs ever charted... Their only charted record was the instrumental "BaJa {Ba-Ha}"; which spent one week on the Top 100 at position #94... Sonny and Cher sang a song titled "It's Gonna Rain" and Sandy Nelson performed "Drum Dance"; neither made the Top 100 chart...
"It's Gonna Rain Outside" is actually a pretty good cut. Not sure how it goes with a beach-movie, though. Maybe the producers are trying to explain the lack of beach-action.
You might as well say that this was Cher's movie debut. Twenty-three years later, she wins the Oscar for Moonstruck. Also, Jackie was John Davidson's wife.
I'm sure this movie is awful, but I'd still like to see it. I dig them mid-60s era chicks and bitchen Fender Jaguar guitars (yes, I know that one guy is playing a Jazzmaster).
I had the misfortune to be forced to sit through this trashy film in order to see the Beatles in "A Hard Day's Night" in 1965. Virtually nothing happens on any beach except the scene shown here with the fully-dressed couple talking a stroll next to the water. And virtually nothing "wild" occurs either.
I feel your pain...Lol! I wasn't forced to watch but I did see this in 1965 and others that I don't recall the titles but as a child I actually liked them and I would watch anything that had music in it...My how our taste changes as we age and thankfully so.
Nine years ago, Sampson1959, told the truth. This was not a Sonny and Cher movie flop. It wasn't "their" movie. They were just guest appearances. It was the producers and directors flop.

I enjoyed the movie! Yes low budget. But great photography, location, and musical surprises
