Thanks for posting! … The days of knee paddling …. I was so proud of my surf bumps! They set me apart from the beach bunnies LOL … not sure where this is, thinking somewhere south of LA (with Catalina across the way and plenty smog). Used to surf SanO late 50’s early 60’s and feels somewhere around there or up towards Palo Verdes … ???
My first time out was on my 15th birthday December 1962. A new factory pop out I bought for $80 I earned by insulating my dad's attic in the summer! My dad took me to Sunset Point (where Sunset Blvd. runs into PCH. The waves were just like the first ones in the film - very small and breaking right on shore but it was awesome! Left it for a long time but back in the water now going as often as energy allows & doing the best I can handle - still small inside waves LOL! Stay Stoked!
Really fun to watch! Takes me back, surf knotts and a groovy feeling...thank you!
Glad it brought back memories!
I started surfing in 1964 in Santa Barbara (I'm 71 now) so this is very relevant to me.
very nice, reminds me of my happy youth

Great footage from an older surfer that grew up by Salt Creek!

It sure is! Driving my 54 Ford down Laguna Canyon Road in the sixties
Ben Gravy would be proud of some of these. Great video thanks for sharing.

Like you I started at Doheny the fall of 1957. Still get out about once a month. Even at eighty years old it's still fun.
Awesome footage
❤❤❤
Then San Clemente at T street……
Right again. Hope you enjoyed visiting the past. I sure did.
Is that a USSA decal in window?

Starts with Laguna Canyon Road driving down to Salt Creel. Also includes Dana Point, San Clemente, and a few others.
Bench seats in cars! They never should have gotten rid of them! How else can you cuddle up with your sweetie while driving?!
