I totally agree with you. I used to buy several boxes at the time of release and you open them and there are no valuable cards and everyone goes out to sell what they can at very low prices. I decided to change my strategy and focus on players who can have an impact on different markets and collect only them and certain years. I congratulate you for your videos and showing the real side of this business.
Thank you Federico, I greatly appreciate you watching, commenting, and being a channel member! The days of everyone being able to flip are slowly fading away and more and more collectors are rising from those ashes. Panini has a dirty hand in where the market is for good but mostly for worse. I try to be as transparent and insightful for people so they can see the real side of this hobby instead of the fluffy side that influencers show.
When Upper Deck and Flair left everything went left. Bring back when cards drop when the season starts. They just waiting to see what the rookies do to charge more money
Honestly I didn’t think of that before but you’re probably right haha! Why put out a product with unknown or bum rookies lol just wait til a Puka blows up out of nowhere and make that the face of a product. Great comment! Thanks for watching!
Running the numbers - if Topps blows out NBA and NFL like it does with baseball, we'll be in junk wax 2.0. I'm bullish on Panini sealed over the next two years since the license will be exclusive to Fanatics for some time. To your point, it could just be a pointless endeavor if Panini just keeps putting out trash. Nobody wants trash - even if its the last trash ever made XD
I’d go out and say we’re already in another junk wax era and people don’t see it yet. Back in the early 90s, people didn’t see the junk wax era they were in until it was too late. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment!
I got into the hobby in 2022 ive never seen prizm football in the wild Never im at the point where i just watch ebay listings and try to get steals 😂 i got a 2023 prizm Joey porter Jr No huddle blue /95 psa 10 for $37 after shipping
Just enjoy the hobby buying singles and enjoying the cards. If you can find a box here and there just open it to have fun. Thanks for watching and leaving a a comment!
Oddly enough, I don't mind Panini's baseball products. I always thought the quality was better than their football and basketball cards. With them having less and less licenses next year, I wonder what reason will be out there for people to like Panini. If one exists at all... Thank you for watching and commenting!
This is exactly why i stopped buying wax, and switched to just collecting players i want. I can buy a TON of cards of ebay for the $300-5000 it costs for some of these hobby boxes! Lmao this hobby is turning into a joke. I buy cards ALL the time for less than $20 that came out of $3k or more boxes all day. Im glad other people can just throw $$ away like that but not me haha.
Buying singles has been and always will be a better bang for the buck. Opening product, regardless of tag needs to be done out of pure fun. Some people enjoy a good $25 opening while others have the Lu fury to enjoy a 3k opening lol. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment!
Bro and these relic cards are absolutely trash and a ripoff. Nothing is game used anymore. These relics mean nothing. They just simply look cool. Straight rippin people off
Absolutely agree there’s no excitement in pulling a patch card anymore. I’m hoping Fanatics corrects this moving forward. Thank you watching and leaving a comment!
I know my days are over on buying boxes from stores. it’s a bunch of bs! Never pulled anything good most of its base. Just a money grab! if u don’t buy online and spend 500-1000 on a box u won’t hit crap. Just another rich man’s hobbie anymore. Sucks for the collectors that actually value there cards.
I can definitely feel your frustration just by reading your comment. I appreciate you watching and leaving a comment on this video. I try to emphasize so much to people who buy boxes that you need to have fun, plain and simple. It's a not an investment or a good way to make money in this hobby. Rip because you love the thrill and enjoy opening packs. Be able to afford it and know you're looking to have fun. More and more people around the shop here are starting to have that mentality again and through that opening more. It's nice to see and I hope you find your fun again in the hobby if you have lost it.
Piss poor customer service, crappy player worn jersey cards, ripoff prices, horrible retail releases, still having ridiculous delays and product releases, and Panini points. Hard to wonder why they are dying.
Panini killed itself, the lack of quality control and sheer greed have pushed fans away, and caused those people with influence to guide people away from their products. When you pull grossly damaged cards and send them back, they will send the damaged cards back to you and say its not damaged enough. I stay far away from panini.
Couldn’t agree more with what you said. It’s sad how much a company that once upon a time, people enjoy have now vowed to avoid them at all costs. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment!
Interesting insights. I would completely disagree with you. Panini was the only manufacturer before fanatics actually doing anything in the hobby. Topps was dead Candy company. UD is still MIA and lost exclusivity with LeBron. Panini stood up to Fanatics and even now they are making moves in college to challenge fanatics and expanding cards into Rolling Stones etc. panini customer service is actually competent now. You make a lots of complaints but this is the hobby and you know what… panini is still selling and making a lot of money. They have a war chest according to many and could compete for years. Fanatics on the other hand is showing cracks. And I could see fanatics puke out the licenses in a few years. Last point, markets need #2 and #3 competitors so panini will be around longer than most LCS.
I think we agree more than what I said in the video portrays. I don't think they'll die off overnight and I don't think Fanatics is perfect either. Given Panini and their current print quality, customer service, lack of hits, and many more factors, collectors are fed up with them and want something new. With Fanatics having the rights to the more popular collected sports, they'll be favored by many and even if they don't like Fanatics, they'll have to buy their products because it's "licensed" just like they've had to buy Panini products. I am curious to see where the hobby goes once Fanatics takes over such as Fanatics themself, collectors choosing what to rip, Panini and the direction they go. It'll be interesting to see. Thanks for the comment and watching the video!
@murphscardtown i figured that's the best option to get the best value. I'm guessing the redemption site is overrun with bots because anything decent is always sold out.

Coming from someone who mostly collects baseball cards I never liked panini

That weird Costco exclusive box with the jumbo downtowns yes but the hobbies and actual retail product hasn’t yet but soon!
