Surfing Scripps Pier with Quick Afternoon Barrels - 12-21-2023

The California Coast was about to have its first big winter storm. On Dec 21st, 2023 the waves at Scripps Pier north side were anywhere from 3 to 6 foot faces. A moderate crowd of surfers paddled out in the late afternoon before the storm was supposed to hit that evening. While there were a lot of close outs there were plenty of waves coming through. Experienced surfers were able to pick out the gems that provided some quick barrels before the close out section.

Yeah this was a random afternoon. I saw outside the winds were dying off and I checked the cams and saw the break filling up and a few good waves, so figured I would head over for a session.
You’re of the best drone pilots I’ve seen. Lots of low angle yeah ! More in 2024🏄
Wow, thanks! Been flying for a while. Just gotta get over the fear of putting your drone in the water. Eventually it is going to happen so get as close as you can until then. What happened to style these days and kids. All they want to do is airs and it stinking and polluting the water. When your nose is 3 inches away from your front foot and you back on the tail , you know what that looks like. Peuuu weeeiii
