This song is the best memory I have of my grandpa. He sang Bella Ciao with his companions when during the fascism they were forced to hide and fight in the woods (Some of them were Jew, some other were a so-called political opponent), my grandma was a "staffetta" providing for food and basics, she wasn't even 18, that's the way they met up. They survived 3 years knowing that the slightest mistake meant death. Today we travel the world and we're used to having a freedom that perhaps we don't even realize how dramatic and hard was to reach it. Thanks for singing Bella Ciao!
