I neglected to mention the daytime running light wire (red wire) isn't needed.

The red wire will cause that horizontal light bar to light up. I have that unit on my XR 650. Works great!

I own a 2020 DRZ400SM also. You mentioned a tail tidy. I first replaced mine with a TST Industries integrated tail light with fender eliminator. I also installed their brake light module with it. I had some functionality issues with brake module connected to the integrated tail light. So I returned the brake module and decided to go with just the integrated tail light. The light looks great, but i think it’s too small. I was almost rear ended a couple of times. So I decided to replace it with the 12 O’clock Labs integrated tail light and fender eliminator kit. I also installed their separate turn signals even though the brake light signals. The brake light also has a built-in programmable module.

Thank you for the recommendations! I agree that some kits are just too small, ya it looks cool but I don’t want to get rear ended. I think I’ll keep the factory rear turn signals and just go with a small rear light.

@@kylejordan6484 Thanks for the info. If thats the case I definitely wouldn't be interested. I was pretty close to purchasing one of them for my DRZ400. Do you have any particular headlight units you'd recommend?
I'm not usually a fan of the LED lights because of the unnatural colors and the way they typically throw light everywhere. With that said, I'm aware lighting technology has come a long way in recent years and I find myself wanting to give it a try on my bike.

  • @kylejordan6484

The jns headlight is a cheap Chinese headlight that he marks up and sells as his own. I can provide more proof to this if you like.

@@ridingwithrusso7790 i have a $25 eBay light that looks just like the jns light and it has run fine for the last year therefore I’m sure that your light will also work fine. That does not change the fact that jns is selling a light as some high quality piece of equipment made in America when it is in fact a China light. Very grimy, very shady, and I would hate for someone to see your video and also waste their money on a scam.. rant over.
