I was 11 years old when I saw this movie in theaters with my father and pregnant sister. My dad had to take my sister home pretty early into it because she got sick from the handheld movement, so 11 year old me was left alone in this dark theater and it is one of my favorite cinema experiences and this is one of my favorite movies of all time. I still watch it pretty often, maybe once a month. No other found footage movie has done it like this since.
THIS is what I want out of movie recaps, lore and thoughts/opinions! Also, my adhd thanks you for your speed talking and staying on point! 😂 definitely subscribed! Keep em coming please!!! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
another BANGER of a video gracie 100/10 cloverfield (2008) was the first movie that made me fall in love with film making frfr. i loved the way it was filmed so much and its probably my favorite found footage type of film.
Thank you!!! It’s so so good. Cloverfield and movies like it were what I wanted to be able to do videos on, but even making this one, I was like I don’t feel like it’s as funny it’s just a really thorough breakdown haha so I’m so glad people liked it.
I loved 10 cloverfield Lane but I watched it without having seen any of the other movies and didn’t know it was connected to them. The suspense was much better not knowing about the connection because I’d assume it was obvious John Goodman was telling the truth if I knew it was for sure an alien movie
I literally knew about none of this. I didn't like scary or disaster movies growing up and to be honest I didn't fully consume all of the information in this video cuz holy shit that's a lot but I am so so intrigued and I'm definitely watching the first two movies ASAP
My brother invited me and my other brother to watch this movie. We went eating at Islands before but for some reason I guess I ate too much or too fast, or just food poisoning. As you might have guessed, we went to the movies to watch Cloverfield right after. I was already feeling nausea before the movie started and I don't know how I didn't go sick watching the movie. I think there were segments of the movie where I had to close my eyes, sweating profusely. Great memories though.
For me what really made the movie was my friend Tee getting out his seat while saying “Fuck these people, I don’t care about them. I’ll see ya later.”, then the head came crashing down as well as his ass into his seat. :)
We know it destroyed Clover, as well as a ton of innocent civilians...whoops....but I guess in terms of potential world ramifications, not sure if every parasite was taken out
Also sorry to use her relation to a man to identify her, I was going for the comedic timing of her being JJ’s daughter hahaha but yes love Gracie Abrams!!!
Thank you everyone for watching! If anybody has a second, can you please confirm or deny if this audio sounded okay? Clear enough? SFX too loud or too quiet? Been testing out mics. Thank you!
This is the first video of yours that's popped up in my recommendations. I really like your speaking voice and how quickly you get to the point, but the asmr clicking sound in your intro almost made me click off honestly 😅 glad I stuck around though
Your mic maybe a bit hot, but nothing super bad, let me give you a tip, there's an adobe feature that you upload the audio and it cleans it up almost studio quality, look for Adobe ai speach enhance, another thing could be Capcut, I use Premiere so don't have too much experience on it, but a friend that uses it with just a few clicks it enhaces your voice to 11, and is super cheap compared to Premiere... hope it helps 😅 awesome video btw
hahaha I'm prepping a video on it, so I'm keeping it hush hush (NOT GATEKEEPING, I WANT EVERYONT TO WATCH IT) but trying to put something together first
It was peak, tied in with one of my favorite shows at that time too The trailer hooked me, then through the show I got dragged down the rabbit hole with no resistance.
You know what, I need to rewatch it. My experience was not knowing it was part of the universe, and I was rocking with it, and then I realized it was and was, like, disappointed, so this is a take I agree with, I think on its own, it's a solid sci-fi film, but I watched it when it came out in 2018, I need to rewatch it
hahaha omg thank you! I always watch it before I upload and every time I'm like, this is too chaotic but then I post anyway because it takes about 20 hours of editing to finish.
Not finished the video, but I think the fact "survival thoughts" are given there in the autoplay thing, I would like to inform you that there are 3 different monsters (imo). The tail that destroys Golden Gate Bridge, is too long, almost fish like. Then, the full body is not adapted to move in the ocean. And finally, when one of the guys gets eaten, we see its not pale like every other time we have seen it. I.E. you dont have to survive 1 clover, you need to survive 3. I think the theory is further proved by the "its still alive" message at the end. Only 2 of the 3 clovers died, but one survived Its still alive, and I think it is the fish thing that destroys Golden Gate Bridge, since it never seems to get onto land, like, ever. Not confirmed, but I think so.
wait, I'm not being funny, I genuinely can't tell if this is serious or not, if it is, i am SO SORRY I am NOT dragging you, I thought maybe you're making fun of my rambling about the dimensions
@@goodtaste2185 OHHH yes you're so right!! That's a good point, I wonder if I can pull side by sides of frames of the monster next to different buildings hahaha
judging by the size of the statue of liberty's head, the accuracy of scale for anything in the movie was quite mutable, mostly designed to maximize the emotional impact of the visuals
Wait thank you for the info! I did research and saw JJ and others refer to the monster as a he, but I respect the designer if designer decided she was a she haha And that’s cool on the address! Although it does suck to me when it doesn’t line up, like what you’re saying, if it’s set in Louisiana then where is the exact street boooooo
Do I know anything about this movie? No. Will I watch this video in its entirety? Well, yes.
hahahaha THANK YOU. this is the energy I love on this channel

I like all 3 movies, honestly Paradox I enjoyed the most. But it’s also hard to compare them to each other as they’re all filmed in different genres.
So true, honestly, I like Paradox as a standalone, but then was hard to put into the Cloverfield universe in my head, so I was probably too harsh haha
