I like doing this run with one hand. That way I can tremolo a Sus 7th chord in my left hand and as my right hand lick arrives down at my left hand chord, I hop my right over my left (the left keeps tremolo going) and continue down in bass with a 8 5 1 (reverse back up in bass with 5 8) and hop back up and over my LH tremolo drone and go up the riff again with the RH. I have observed McCoy Tyner and Monty Alexander do this texture frequently in their solo piano playing. It's dazzling.
If that helps I see it as a 3 7 shell at the hand and a tritone sub at the right but minor. Or a triton sub altered voicing. Sorry if I am wrong. Self taught here
I'm working on a "practice manual" for Barry things. in the meantime check out my Patreon: www.patreon.com/isaacraz for transcriptions of the videos, and screenshots of my notes
Hey, Isaac. Can you do a video on the falling move barry does in east of the sun with charles McPherson? It's right at the beginning of charlies solo. Like a measure in. Beat 2 measure 2. It sounds really cool, like a cascading effect. I was wondering if that's something you may have heard or seen from him during classes.
Essentially you could pull it off anytime there's a V7/V to V7 in a given key, right? Cause you can always add a two to a five and/or tritone sub the entire thing. Stealing this, thanks!
Marvellous!
I really enjoy thinking of the ii chord as V7sus, with either a 9 or a b9
Great story about Beauty in Ugly's clothes!
He really nailed it.

Isaac, I think I was at that class. I love that move and use it all over the place. Keep up the good work!
Yes I think I remember! My first time needing to use readers! Lol
Very useful, thank you. Barry had so much insight of the piano.

I'll check it out! thanks for the question
Looks like he;s playing with the black keys and white keys around a Gb6 to a G6, that would be my guess?

Absolutely. The examples I made were only what I've seen in class, you can use your creativity for sure!
