@@Will-sg1qq Yeah men, because back in the days, that type of vocal was the reason why he rip off he's voice so bad, and that's also the reason why he sounds so different in Vol. 3 period concerts.

Last Slipknot album I liked was The Gray Chapter, but Eloy is my favorite drummer, so I'll feel pretty much obligated to give them another chance. The percussion on their next album will be impeccable, that's guaranteed.

Eloy is a fucking POWERHOUSE. He keeps pace so we'll and he's genuinely taken their shows to a new level.
After seeing eloy on drums on fully convinced now that jay was let go for his rushing habit..this is the 1st show iv seen in a decade where it sounds like they played to a click, or eloy is just a great time keeper! I waa so used to Jay's frantic pace live that I forgot what they sound like at normal speed until this performance and it REALLY made it more obvious just how much Jay's timing was.....bad.. I personally like bands like slipknot playing at faster bpm HOWEVER I can see how it could piss corey,jim,mick, and v man off having to keep up with that frantic uptick show after show..corey had time to really ununciate everything properly..also jay was 20 years younger than all those guys who needed to follow his pace, so playing fast may have been ok for a young jay, but probably wore thin on everyone else.for all we know they may have been telling jay for AWHILE to slow things down or play to a click with jay being unable or unwilling to adapt. What's 100% CERTAIN is that eloy played these songs at studio record speed..I think that in itself is very telling beccause of how audibly noticeable it was, atleast for me and alot of others when looking at comments on other vids of this show! I actually didn't realize HOW BAD Jay's rushing actually was until I saw this show simply because I had gotten soo used to the way they sounded live with jay on the kit, I had forgotten what they are suppose to sound like at proper tempo.
Glad someone else has this take too. One of the first things I told my wife was "I hate to say it but it's obvious how Jay just always played to fast." Not to say he was ever bad persay... but these songs need their time to breathe and grow and shut eloy has that power! Excited for the future now!
@@brandynosborn3374 It was bands decision to play few beats faster then CD's speed on live shows. It's not like Jay was in control of whole bands tempo. I think Corey even mentioned that in interview. Purpose of playing faster is to keep crowd invested, energized and excited. It definitely pumps your adrenaline more when you hear song played on faster beat. So people saying Jay was rushing, or of the beat is false narative.
@@brandynosborn3374 plus Jay hit/fills a lot weaker than Eloy. And double kick is so much more less sloppy than jays not to say Jay was bad just not as good as Eloy

You’re right about bands slightly speeding up songs, but it was getting excessive and at one point jay completely changed tempo between the intro and verse of Before I Forget. And his doubles were getting kinda sloppy

I think the drummers mask is just supposed to be a place holder... they usually do that for their newer members for the first tour or two.
Thats what i was thinking, but might also be cuz eloy needs one that's gonna stay put cuz he is violent as hell back there. I noticed his mask has massive straps keeping it in place that i dont see on the others
@@michaelmignone5869 I would assume he'll probably get one that's a little more stylized after the next album. That seems to be how they do. If you remember, V-man had a pretty plain looking mask when he first come in too. But that's probably for sure why he's got all the straps and shit, to keep it in place.

This specific tour is dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the release of the self-titled album. Hence they bring back the orange jumpsuits and the original mask styles of the original members that are still active.

I watched a couple videos of this set and man I'm so jealous of everybody that got to go to this
I ended up going to that show. I'm not sure if they chose the location on purpose for live streaming because the signal was horrible there. It was just an hour south of Barstow ( I did a 5 hour drive). We bumped into the crew at the most random-tiny gas station. I got a photo with Jim.
The show was phenomenal, it was almost an hour and a half set list. Dusty af, very intimate, definitely once in a lifetime event.
There was a dude who wouldn't shut up and kept screaming "Eloy" throughout the whole show.

Ive always dug the masks that James Root wears the most for some reason.
Went to this show, absolutely nuts that it was 5 minutes away from where I live.
Loving the throwback to volume 3 with sid and Corey. Sids masks have always been a favorite of mine.

As a british kid there was a bbc tv test card that came on when programming had finished at 3am, it was a picture of a little girl playing noughts and crosses with a clown doll (as a kid the clown doll gave me nightmares upon witnessing it at 3am abruptly with all the static noise going on). Tortilla Man's mask reminds me of that clown doll.

Sid's OG BCD, to the Carbon Fiber BCD and now the Gold actually slaps, using a cast of his most iconic mask is a really cool concept ngl. Tortilla Pfaff's mask is gorgeous, my personal favorite of the current masks. Corey looks like an awesome combination of the Ghostglow and his V3. Mick... we don't talk about Mick's. Clown should have debutted the gorey clown mask from a previous meet and greet he did. Eloy, not sure what to feel about it just yet, it seems like a V-Man cancelled mask. Jim... we don't talk about Jim's. Jeff, same with Eloy, not sure what to feel about it just yet.

honestly, one of the biggest physical changes I've noticed is Mick or #7 & Clown, both of them look awesome now for their ages! Not to sound rude, but they were a bit bigger way back when, but now they're both lookin healthy & happy!

Thats the whole idea.. It's supposed to be a throw back to the original masks. This is the 25th anniversary of Slipknot concert. I'm kind of wondering if these masks are not just for this show. If you notice, they're wearing the old school Jumpsuits too. The Drummer is Eloy, if you've ever seen him play before it's obvious.

The new drummer (Eloy Casagrande) does a good job in my pov…. As I watched the video of some other YT guy, the first thing that immediately came to my mind, was that Corey‘s new mask looks like the base of the Sefltitled one but with reptile-like aspect of the Vol.3 Mask.

Gonna offer my two cents as a pretty hardcore slipknot fan with a particular love for the early masks and aesthetic.
- Clown’s new mask is incredible. It’s haunting and feels raw, which is how the early masks felt to me.
- I’m fine with Corey’s new mask but it just isn’t the ghost glow. The weathering of Corey’s OG ghost glow is something else. Sonisphere 2011 is good evidence of how a throwback mask is a dangerous game. That said, I do like the additions to the new mask.
- Not huge on Pfaff’s long hair here. It is objectively cool but clashes with Corey’s for me personally. The eyeless (pardon the pun) mask with the devil horns in their latest shoot is SO much better, and more Pfaff.
- Jeff and Eloy’s are fine. Kinda boring but that’s perfect.
- Vman goes hard still.
- Sid in a BCD gas mask is heritage and i will always dig it!
- Jim is Jim
- Mick is Mick. i’d love to see Mick play with weathering or texture on his mask.
(side note Craig’s OG Youth Space Helmet with the weathered black paint, nails and MBU gas mask is still the best!)

I’m just happy clown finally changed it up. He changed it so much in the beginning but not much since .5
The Sid mask isn't Russian, at least not this one. It's the British Civilian Duty respirator with a lot of the guts missing. The Russian one that I think chat was talking about is like the weird rubber one that looks a lot like the Combine from Half Life 2. If you google up "Russian Monkey gas mask" you'll get pictures of it, but the gold one here is just a recast of the BCD.

it was a greatest hits but 1st album heavy, i'd say the masks are og inspired, the two guitarists haven't hardly ever changed, especially mick, and dude wouldn't you love to be any of the three members who just hang out?
Eloy honestly has me headbanging to this band like a motherfucker all over again. Seriously hoping this is a permanent fixture of the band.
