I will ship my Tom Groholski graveyard mob reissue (9.75”x31”x14.15”) from the Great Plains to California for that. And Kelly could autograph and send back ‘cause that would be cool.
Rad! Always loved Mike’s style. Think and Powell days-looking forward to this one. Remember Eric Ricks? Same teams, also ripped. I can sense a Leigh Peterson Nine Club coming soon!
I would love a Leigh Peterson and an Eric Ricks episode at some point. I got a chance to skate with Leigh in maybe 93 or 94. It was Steve Olson, Josh Beagle, Leigh, Berra, ……I’m not sure if Kirchart was there that first time. Leigh was super nice and I remember him being really tall. This was Foundation days. Just a bunch of us and the foundation team at the time…just skating under a freeway on a box and a bank. Such good times.
Mike just answered all the questions I had left about the whole Color Skateboards deal. Mike laid it down in the most solid way. Plan C, nice one hahaha!!!
Santarossa is a legend! Interviewed him at Skater Island back in the day for a tiny little magazine. Was lucky enough to be a prod rep for diabolical for a hot second. Will always love Santarossa!
Super cool Dude and a rad Sk8er~ as a Sk8 Zone Local I remember him coming up fast and hard he was killing it!!! My grand nephew Milo has been a student for a while at the Orchid and he is ripping it up!!! So stoked on what Mike has taught him!!! He was rolling on his knees now he is dropping in and having a blast!!! Ride on y’all!!!
This is awesome. I grew up with Mike...he was a year older but we both went to a catholic school from 1st thru 6th grade and he, i, my brother and 2 other kids skated. Frank Hill lived 3 doors up from me as a little kid then a kid named Kent Knepper moved in and he was a huge influence on Hill. Skated the Lance jump ramp Mike had...thing was awesome In high school Mike called me summer 92 to see what period i was taking printshop so his senior year/my junior year we took offset printing and i taught him how to run the print press
Hahaha I’m dying at the accessories, loved em. There was that other accessory to help your Ollie. Can’t remember what it was called but a thin little thing that connected to your front bolts to catch your foot. Hahahahah
@@erichanhauser3190 it was something else. Was regular 4 bolt config and the little piece went between the bolts and the grip. The bolts held it on. Was meant to catch your front foot as it slid forward during your Ollie. Maybe it was a VA Beach thing, IDK I was 12
@@squeaknj that wasn’t it. I think a skyhook covered up the side of your shoe/foot hooking around the top. This thing was a centimeter or 2 high, just enough to grab the very bottom edge of the sole of your shoe. I think this will be one of those things that will haunt me the rest of my life, not knowing the name or find a pic of it.
Also funny to hear Oblow mentioned, like whatever can't condemn someone based a single interview but hollllllyyyyyy shit was that episode a dumpster fire. Man I love the 9 club, really really pulls back the curtain a bit and it is so dope.
Mike is awesome! Also, I appreciate Crob's enthusiasm for the trades, but after he said "It's not that hard. Just some plaster and drywall..." 100s of us that do that for a living started cracking up.
@@johnnypea43 Haha, I always used to make the joke that a 50-50 was twice as hard as a 5-0 for that very reason. Also, I grew up in the trades and I've always been a little sensitive to how dismissive people are about them. They are just like anything else, you need to acquire the skills and knowledge to do it competently.
Boards were so heavy back then. My first board was a Powell lance mountain with the cave art and I skated it with all the junk on it for about 2 months and then stripped it all off and lost about 5 pounds and learned to Ollie
Yo!!!! Do it! Give Kelly 12 accessories unboxed, no instructions, only hardware and put it all in Phillip the bucket. He has to take it all out and try putting it on his board!!! tim and rog can narrarate/ comment in the edit. Hahaha...Oh that will be good.
This is great. Kelly def gotta set up s board with everything. Short Bones. Rib Bones, Tail Bone, Nose Bone. Hilarious. I don't see the Nose Bone working or fitting. Too small a shape, to big a Bone.
I see Mike at the local skate park. Nicest most chill dude ever. Usually teaching kids. Just a cool soul. Thanks for putting him on.
Got 411vm 17 in 97. he has a profile with jamiroquai "half the man" in it. memories ❤️
Please make the segment with Kelly setting up and trying an old school set up!!!!

First Markovich, now Santarossa - amazing! Love you, Nine Club!
Awesome interview...Thank you for the mention Mike (54:39) you are a true Legend!!!
Yo homie. Your kickflip late shuv over the schoolyard hip in Powell 8(I think) is still the best executed trick on tape. Salute to a true master.
@@andrewsmyth1652 😀🙏
The color video is one of the best & most underrated videos in skate history
He had a damn smooth style back in the day. Kinda under appreciated.
One of the OG skaters for sure. So chill. Enjoying this as usual.

His part in Powell Scenic Drive is all time.

Whole video is a classic. The Gershon part is still insane today.
Rad! Always loved Mike’s style. Think and Powell days-looking forward to this one.

I can sense a Leigh Peterson Nine Club coming soon!
That would be sick. Leigh was dope. Haven't seen him in years. I know he does the artist thing these days.
😄🙌

Another 805 legend!! Great episode bros
The look of disappointment on Chris's face at the end when the ketchup/mustard joke clicks is absolutely peak Crob.

Gotta do a Jeron pro party ep. No Brainer. Would be hilarious. Love ya Jeron. Party mandatory.
I’m really surprised they haven’t done that yet

Skating's not that hard, you just flip a piece of wood around with your feet.
@@jasondashney Exactly. And mannys must be easier because there are two less wheels to get in the way while you're rolling.
