gibe hugs plis
what if we hugged haha jk. unless...
Gibe food frst
5thish - Love HUGS 🤗 ! Almost at 200k. I’m sooo proud of you. ~ Love Mom 💕
Big HUGs, mama Dotson 🤗🤗 Mama Dotson army wya??
@Sophie A. Wow - thank you so much! I enjoyed being part of that. Maybe we could do it annually. Do you need any books? ~ Andrew’s Mom 💕
Okay, this second QCD lecture reminded me why I switched majors to math.
Ngl I was stugglin to keep up
As a math guy, the graphs look pretty, but everything else sounds like gibberish.
hi Andrew, glad to see ya. ngl gather town looks sick, we need more gameplays
Loving this series. When are we getting a full Gather Town Let’s Play though?
Gather town speed run coming soon
Hmm, "Worlds best grandpa" did papa and Andrew have a secret relationship that we did not know about
The cat: I learned all that when I was a kit. 😂🤣
Andrew boi 200k
pffff yeah, of course i know what those equations mean
That intro was so wholesome.
no u
Lol I wish I’d be able to understand those things in the future too.
exactly, until then I have to deal with geography, history and literature
That opening scene of the desert gives me flashbacks to when I was stuck in Alamoghetto NM for 3 years. YUCK!
I haven't spent much time there, I'm over in las cruces
Who tf disliked the video? We need to find them now!!
I've heard you mention d-terms a few times. That always trips me up because my brain gpes to the expansion of superfields in SUSY where one of the terms in the Taylor expansion is called the D-term. But this must be something different, and related to GPD:s right?
No daily recaps... i'm dissapointed.
Beside that, thanks for doing all of that, it's very inspiring.
Oh like say what happened in the last video? I could start doing that, nice suggestion.
How would an relativistic particle observe a rotating body? I assume that it might look like a disc but with features moving on like an electronic display array. But wouldn't that be enough to tell the particle that it's moving at constant velocity?
This is a true calling for a Runescape + Nuclear Physics stream.
Amazing video
Interesting video but the last part seems dystopic pls 😭
Moreeeee
sweet vid grandpa
6th ! Hola Andrew! As always, the pleasure is all ours.
:)
Can you tell whoever put together the Compton Scattering powerpoint that I hate their font choice, and tell your cat that I love her? :)
What was they app they did the virtual meeting on?
More of the same please, with plenty of details.
AYY I did my undergrad with Filip from your video!! UConn gang!
Go UConn! so much fun learning physics there :)
Hey Andrew I'm just starting my second year of university studying Physics I was wondering if you have any tips and good habits on how to take notes??
Recopy your class notes as more organized notes after class ends.
Have a binder with different sections for homework, class notes, book notes, quiz and test prep.
Do a bunch of practice problems from the book to further your understanding.
Also reading relevant research papers through your schools list of online encyclopedias is a great idea as well
try to save a couple weeks before exam to revise instead of doing it a week before like i was doing lol
The nuclear physics and nuclear chemistry fields are SO COOL. Im in a program for nuclear chemistry that starts June 14th. I cant wait! Have fun
Couldn't help but notice "Group theory in a nutshell for physicists" in your shelf :D I had a course in group theory and that was the main reference. Pretty dope book!
Ig I’m not smart anymore
"I had no idea that there's this much that I don't know." I feel you, Andrew.
I've been taking an introductory course in Quantum Mechanics and the feeling is quite the same!
Nice video!
Love the QCD part, I was laughing
some Tibia in the mean time then
was that some comic sans? :)
I stopped crying to watch this video (I failed my modern physics class if you have a tip please leave it down below:( )
Don’t give up. You’ve got this!
Gather Town looks fun :D
I like it!
loved your video
Those other student look like really cool people to be around also looking at that qcd made my head hurt
Yeah everyones been really nice
Epic
Great Intro montage you got there Andrew
tyty
The laughing while the slides were being shown is exactly how I feel about online classes.
Loved today's sponsor. Black coffee ☕ is a favorite of mine. I'm glad you did these videos. It is nice to see how much you are enjoying the experience. When I have seen the ads for virtual math meetings I have not been excited. Being in person seems like a better experience to me.
Wer diesen Satz versteht ist cool! 🇩🇪
Are you planning to do something special for 200k?
May I ask you something? I'm just a lousy undergrad but I did not quite get the relevance of deeply virtual compton scattering. I understood that it is the simplest process related to Generalized Parton Distributions but what exactly can we, as physicists, learn from it? And is it related to the compton wavelength or the compton effect?
😶
Me a computer science major watching this to see if I can get any cool project ideas from this vid
* takes notes *
Will be going to collge soon(undergrad). Am excited!! Hope i can understand the stuff like you do in a couple of years!
That QCD was pretty rough! I'm not sure if this would be appropriate, but if you can get some advice for soon to be grad students, I would very much appreciate it!
Loooved this💖
I see Peskin & Schroeder lurking from the shelf and it's scaring me
I would love for you to interview more experimentalists as we already get the theorist perspective from your channel. good luck! Maybe one day I will be able to understand this stuff but who knows
Thinking about that coffee cup, did you travel at relativistic speeds at some point? How did that happen?
Physics Master🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸👍👍👍
EYES JUST WONDERING HOW TO SQWEES 2 NUTONS INTO A HYON ATOM. DID I SPELL THAT WRONGOR CAN I INVERT THAT???
As an Applied Physics undergrad student, I do love and appreciate my caffeine in a cup.
jesus, thats a lot of math...i though tensor calculus was bad enough xd
Those QCD slides lmao that’s a lot in one slide wonder if anyone could understand them mid zoom
Looking tan and looking trim, Dotson 👌. I pick the snowman in those final fantasy physics seminars. ☃️
Thanks dawg
that time when virtual particles makes more sense than computers
Gathertown is so fun! I just finished helping out for an educational conference and they held most of it in Gathertown. They planned a scavenger hunt and hired a dj haha
bruh im going to do a masters in theoretical physics in 2 years, well i hope id actually understand this, or im fucked..
You will!
Great to see Andrew posting!!!
2:10 Andrew- "I thought I felt like an idiot during the QCD lectures, but try to sit through a scientific computing lecture, when you don't actually know how computers work.." lol
100% how I felt for the past 4-6 weeks since my undergrad summer research started. Andrew, thank you! This made me feel better! :)
First :)
Oh fuck gathertown is like a runescape mod where instead of grinding skills you grind social anxiety
lvl 99 social anxiety btw
how do you use distributed computing in physics?
👋🏼. 👍🏼.👋🏼
I see we’re pumping these out, lovin it ❤️
Yay
These are great. Keep them coming!
Buying hugs 1000 gp.
Yeah!!
Second :)
third :)
Question for the grad students: do you have to be an inherent genius to learn and do good in physics? Or can you rely on sheer grit and hard work?
As an incoming physics major, it's useful to see applied physics.
