this channel is so underrated, nice editing and hella cool work! it's a crime to not be subscribed to this channel
I want to like this comment but i cant its on 69 likes
Nice
Ill come back tomorow to like if its past 70
So good. NEXT LEVEL patience just getting the wood to a manageable state. In awe of how compact & functional your space is too.
I'm 32. I've been skateboarding for 20 years. I've been playing guitar for 18 years. I have a deep love for woodworking that gets deeper every day. For me, this build is an absolute dream. Honestly, your channel is an absolute dream. Thanks for the inspiration bro. Your channel is f*cking amazing dude! Seeing what you do in every video is so inspiring! THANK YOU!
I really enjoy your videos. I’ve been a cabinetmaker for fifty plus years and a woodworker longer than that. One thing I’ve learned in all that time is that regardless of the age of the Maker we can all learn something from each other. I like your format for recycling skateboards and I think you do a very masterful job of producing your videos. Thank you for sharing your passion with the rest of us. Well done!
I have never subscribed to a single channel until today!! Best and most unique channel!!!!!
Your process always impresses me. The way you get such flawless results is just astounding. Obviously a lot of hard work went into perfecting it. And it seems like every project just gets better and better. This guitar is nothing short of beautiful. Thanks for sharing!
I love everything about this. The shipping container workshop, the design of your work, the workflow, the editing and of course the final result. Great work!
Beautiful build my friend. Thanks for sharing the project. Your patience in your build process is amazing. Just seeing the work involved in preparing the wood for the project,
Do you think a screen printing oven would work to speed up the grip tape removal?
Great editing yet again! And sweet diamond design using the layers of the boards. Well done!
Incredible accuracy! Can’t wait to be a woodworker with your levels of attention to detail.
There is still time to cut a thin veneer of your "skateboard glueing" and put it on the headstock ! A matching headstock would be mad !
Didtok Nan definately do it.
YES,YES,YES!!!!!!!!!
Or grip tape
Kyle Kampman that’s a great idea too.
I'd have use some griptape to keep the theme going
Awesome job! An idea to peel off the grip tape would be to bring a sort of oven into wich you could put stacks of boards to warm up and then take out once at time and easly peel off
Davide Zannella I wonder if a sort of oven may too much dry the fibres and adhesive of the whole boards which may promote cracks. I was thinking a iron
Put them out in the sun when you get them. They're all gonna need to be peeled eventually so why not do it when they arrive. That way you'll have a stack of prepped boards whatever the temperature
Livi 120 maybe I make it look too easy but this is really hard to do, my forearms can barely move without cramping... and you think I’m gonna sit there and do 100s? Who’s gonna edit this masterpiece?
@@WobyDesign another idea i came up with while watching you peeling is to attach a drill to the wood stick you use to peel, maybe you could build a steel version with an attachment for the drill welded on one side
I was thinking of that as well, and a low RPM high torque motor to do the turning, you could just feed the board into it and it would peel it off for you.
I've seen a lot of these "lets build a guitar out of random crap" videos, but I really like this one. The way you used the curves of the boards to flow around the pickups and bridge look really good. Nice work!
From trash to treasure! amazing craftsmanship.
As my old wood shop teacher used to say, "THOSE FINGERS ARE GOING TO FLY!" You might want to use a push stick on that table saw.
I was thinking the same thing. Lol.
Dope!! Everything from editing, to the craft to the music. Keep putting the work in!
Thank you I really appreciate it!
Nice work. Perfect colorful look for the hippy era 🤘
Nice!!! Job well done. Funny how most "Plywood" guitars are cheaply made beginner models but this is so rad and nice! The best kind of plies of wood IMHO..
Darn, this was fun to watch! Way to go! Liked the music, editing and subject matter. Great video
Unreal! So many things you could do once you have the deck stock! Awesome!
Great job. Nice looking guitar. You make woodworking look so easy. I hope to be there one day. Can’t wait for your next video.
Another great video by Woby Design! Your craftsmanship is extraordinary and you put a smile on my face with every video that you share! Thank you again for another enjoyable video! Have a great one! May you be blessed over and abundantly with success! Aloha!
I am always impressed at how efficiently you use that small space. Sometimes it just looks bigger than it actually is.
You are very creative and love what you're doing, you do it well and I love your creativity and channel!!!
It just never gets old... Love the colors
Excelente Projeto!!! Uma transformação ESPETACULAR. Parabéns, uma obra de arte única e magnífica.
Great work man, bought a shirt a year or so ago purely to support what youre doing here man, awesome to see someone out there chasing there dreams! And to make art like this? AWESOME
WD: I really don't like guitar construction videos however I love watching your creative mind come up with new ideas to make things from skateboards! You truly have an original entertaining channel ! Im also a proud supporter of Grizzly tools in my shop! Thank you for sharing your talents!
Get a heat lamp from a pet store and set it up above the stack of skate so as to your peeling its heating up the next skate board
not even thinking about the guitar, look at how small that shop is.! working on putting my shop back together and i keep worrying that im not going to have enough room in the space available, but seeing what you can do in like 3 square feet is really giving me hope.
This video has confirmed one thing for me. A Les Paul with a head where all tuning machines are on one side looks so much better than the original 3-3 head.
one of my favorite channels. nice CNC upgrade.
Beautiful results.
Excellent work. Love your projects.
WOBY! Heck-to-the-YEAH! Sweet editing and stellar project!
Love your work space
Great video. Epic build! Beautiful guitar. Tim Sway is the man. Mahalo for sharing! : )
So hyped someone did this
Couldn't have picked a better guitar body design, awesome work bro.
I like everything about that guitar, man. I wish I could do half of what you do with a quarter of your skill because you have a huge gift, dude!
Very cool. Having been building, modifying, and hot-rodding basses and guitars for 30+ years - that is some really nice work. What did you use for your RF shielding in the control cavity, and what brand of pickups did you use?
Awesome channel and great build.
This is a lot better execution than other attempts ive seen. This actually looks like it was made from recycled boards rather than a bunch of planks
Awesome build!
It's about damn time, hell yeah Woby Design!!!!
Les paul body made of skateboards with a 6 in line headstock and fixed strat-style bridge. What a trip.
That’s badass! Thanks for sharing! Love your channel!
Thank you!
Ben, you did an excellent job! Truly proud of you!
I love the editing
Wow. A plywood guitar. How innovative.
Nice job! Amazing work! 👏👏👏
Nice build, Ben
i love how that diamond shape came out almost dead center!
I’m crazy about skateboard, i love guitar, i will be fan of this guitar ( sorry for my english i’m french)
ANTONIN' BIROLLEAU you have perfect English! :)
I’m at stage 1 of doing something similar. I have an old electric guitar that needs reconditioning and I am going to shave 10mm off the face of the body. Make template (Perspex)for placement of holes and mountings. Then make skateboard top 10mm. Glue to cut down body and shape edge profiles to original. I have some of my sons old boards which makes it personal. I then ate a guitar case with glass lid ( skateboard frame)so it becomes a wall hanging. Use a Perspex scratch plate or maybe pearl.
Thats a really nice headstock shape
Just amazing!
Piano next, please? Excellent work as always and like everyone else says - your channel should be way up in the 500+Ks. So versatile, such a great screen personality, top notch editing and style. Tons and tons of talent ready to be utilised at its best in each and every video you make ... and let's not forget about the dog (in earlier videos) - to bring it all together. Ah yeah - your sponsors know it, you know it and of course your fans know it ... keep at it at this level and it's going to happen. The best of luck to you and thanks for the great video - as always! Cheers! JM
I can't believe you got the edge to test your guitar, that's pretty rad.
A bass made out of broken skateboards is thanks to you on my wishlist :D
Great job mate! ;) your guitar looks absolutely amazing! :)
man, that skatewood infeed table is dope!!!
(also officially calling it skatewood)
On account of dovetailing interests, liked and subscribed!
Soooo awesome! Great video!
Love your work
very cool build, love the concept of your channel. I bet people ask you all the time, but where do you get all the broken skateboards?
Would be great if you did it other body styles too for future videos!
I always wanted a guitar out of old skateboards cool to see someone do it.
Great work man amazing
So it's more than a guitar made of broken skateboard , it's a guitar made of skateboard used by skateboarders imbued from their skill and fail , a part of untold history.
I love that.
You've just thought way further, liked that :)
So amazing 😍 i love it
Man that might be one of the coolest things I've ever seen.. thinkin of trying fractal burning on an old body , wonder if its gonna work...
Sweet looking guitar awesome job
Beautiful guitar
Have you considered getting one of those old school heaters? I don’t know what they’re called but it’s a box with toaster-like wires that get red hot. Seems like it could make for a good little grip tape removal set up
Inteligentíssimo !!!
Да дружище. Хороша гитара. Посмотрел с огромным удовольствием 🔥✊
Very Nice build.
WOBY ROCKS!!
That's cool man love it
Excelente trabajo.
sick work man!
Aaaaaaaaaaaarrrrgghhhhh yyyyyyyeeaahhhh 😋 AWESOME !!!
I want a drum make with broken skate board !!!!!😆😁😆😁😆
beautiful work.
My buddy Jesse made a cap for his son's LP kit like this and it came out pretty sweet like yours 👍
So awesome man!
Looks gorgeous Ben!!!
💯😋👌
CNC you should build a neck plus for you next build a neck through would be killer
With the multi laminate color scheme This is killer man
I built a neck out of some of Ben's cutoffs in exchange for the kit he used: ruclips.net/video/pQyQLVS39RU/видео.html
I've heard of people that live in places that get cold sometimes have trouble with the grip no sticking when they set up a new deck. having doing no testing and have doubt in my head as i write this it may be a better alternative to freeze the adhesive on the grip. you could fit several decks into some like a deep freezer and if it works then you don't have to stand there all day to take off the grips one by one.
one of the sickest guitars i have ever seen.
Love it!
Great freaking job. That's awesome!!!
This is really cool. I remember your conference table video, but I'd forgotten about your channel until Tim Sway reminded me. I've subscribed so that doesn't happen again.
I was hoping you'd make it a carved top, like most Les Pauls. I'm surprised that wasn't part of the CNC file.
Great work!!!!
such a beautiful guitar!!!
Fun to watch. Amazing work. Where do you get all those broken skateboards?
Very good!!!
Great work bro! Amazing
Wow Cool is Amazing 👍👍👍
Nice editing
Tim Sway is a great bloke...and a good musician as well.
