Exceptional work Danie ! You never cease to amaze me with what you accomplish. Looking forward to the next part and the upcoming test drive. 😎 Thanks for sharing 👍🏽
More Danie.... Gou kom inloer..... Van ons "mini camper" tot hierdie projek.... Dawid en Goliat.... Baie geniet! Gaan julle dalk nie in September sien om die baan nie... Nou het ek jou aan die dink 😁. Sal lekker wees om die RV aan die "moove" the sien! Groete!
What about the door solenoids that the hot rodders use Danie? Autostyle sells them and they're cheap. Making some pins instead of the flatbar style locks would also be more secure......ps, loving the allu carpet strips that you used, builders warehouse should totally jump in as a sponsor....
The thought crossed my mind but couldn't find the correct ones for the application (maybe should have spent more time doing research). Will look into it bit more.
cant you use solenoids for the locks? like the ones that pull a pin back, then you can put holes on the open and closed position and it can lock it open or closed?
Admire your energy and ingenuity ! I have a caravan and am very aware of wind push/pull buffeting when passing big trucks. Your slide-outs have a very large surface area and will be able to transfer considerable force to the mountings. I'm doubtful that light duty sliding catches will be strong enough and I suggest some form of positive clamping against solid buffers would be more appropriate. I have also made and fitted a (much smaller) slide out box to a 4WD and installed sliding pins to lock it into position. This really didn't work very well as it doesn't positively fix the slide in position and it rattles...
Thanks for your feedback. I will definitely have to beef up the locking system substantially. I also considered something like the cam locks used on containers so it will be properly clamped closed.
You are very inventive with the motor automation! Looking forward to the first test drive! Keep up the great content 👍

Loving the way this has been coming together. Just wondering how you are going to do the windscreen wipers.

I looked into using solenoids but couldn't really find anything that fit the dimensions I have to work with. Maybe I should do more homework

what about some car central locking motors?
I have installed aftermarket central locking in the past and the ones available aren't very strong.
Wouldn’t it be a lot easier to do the locks with electric solenoids? Then there would just be a switch and wires to each one
Slim planne! Baie werk in die detail.
