I bought one after watching your video about it. I have 4000 miles on mine. It's a heavy bike for sure. It still climb well as it's stiff and no creaking, but even with a carbon seatpost, carbon handlebar, carbon saddle, carbon bottle cage, lightweight 1300g wheelset, light TPU tube, mine comes up to 8.3kg. You feel the weight on climb, to me it remove a bit from the bike experience. I cannot say I'm in love with mine.
Yeah, that is about the weight of mine and I have no carbon saddle or 1300g wheel set! My last carbon road disc bike was the same. My steel rim brake bike is lighter. My Ti gravel bike is heavier. Would I like it to be lighter? Yes, with Force or Red or Dura Ace, etc, it would be lighter. Do I really care that much? Not really. But I get what you are saying. gg
I just ticked over 13,000 miles on my ADHX in a large. Love it. At 64, i run a 46/33 with either a 10-33 or 10-36 cassette. I also run either 32mm 5000Str's or 35mm GK Slicks depending on time of the year in terms of my fitness, not based on weather. The 32's measure 34mm and the 35's measure 38mm on my Zipp's. Only issue I have with Time is the headset bearing interface. Not sure if its a frame issue (top headset bearing retainer to low in the headset) or a headset bearing being thin (7mm vs 8mm tall), but the headset requires 4 split spacer shims to allow for proper compression of the top cap. I think this is either due to the top bearing not being tall enough or the bearing split spacer ring not being tall enough. Either way, it ends up being additional steel which ends up with a little rust. Also when my bike was built up, because so many spacer shims were required to make the top cap compress properly, I think the shop (Wrench Science) left out the thin rubber seal/o-ring from the bottom of the Deda Superbox top cover. When I swap over to the new Red levers, I'll replace the bearings with Enduro solid lube bearings and put the seal/o-ring back in. FYI - I took an expensive gamble and tried the Specialized Mirror Romin saddle - love it, best saddle I've ever ridden in 40 years.
At the time of my build, Enduro did not make a HS that was compatible to that frame so look into that. I do not recall the dimensions, but there are multiple 'standards' and the Deda HS is one and the Enduro Bearing one is the other although it is a minuscule difference in dimensions (OD IIRC). gg
I had a TIME Helix many years ago, some misc. Time forks and have been riding time pedals since 1990. I just purchased a Time ADHX 45 during their sale and have not built it up yet. I have ridden many Time frames before and they have all been excellent. They were always out of my price range, but I was able to afford it during this sale. Their quality is unmatched!!! If you did not know, SRAM now owns TIME pedals, but the frames are still owned by TIME in France.
Yeah, I did know about the pedals. In fact I have a set in the garage I need to get set up. I like the Time road pedals very much even if the cleats wear fast. gg
Yea the cleats do wear a little quickly, but have never had any knee, hip, foot, or any problems with them because your feet can move in what ever direction they want through the pedal stroke. Hopefully SRAM can refine the design a bit to make them a little less creaky when they get old. Your earlier videos on TIME made me look at them again for the first time in many years... I too ride between 15-16 mph on 40 mile rides by myself as well. I have been riding BMC frames since 2005, but decided to switch when I saw the build quality and versatility of the TIME. Thanks fo the info.
Used to love riding up around Casitas back-in-the-day. 40 X 11 is enough for me...if that's somehow "spun out" I'm tucked-in and coasting. Some of this top-gear stuff trends towards penis-envy IMHO. Or the "Wow, look at the length of that guy's stem!" silliness. How much do they get for these bikes?
Hmmm...good question. It's hard to say. I spend time on the gravel bike too and that would be much less. If I am in the local group rides, the average is lowish for the group's sake. If I am by myself it would be higher. But a quick scan of the last few months rides on RWGPS seems to point to 15-16 as an average. gg
Got an ADHX thanks to your video. Chapeau!
when I saw this I had to check my Strava and I have 4,726.5 mi on mine so far and still loving it:)

The Kaiser jersey looks great on you! Shout out to Fresno cycling club.

Seems like everything is on sale these days!

I refer to the top gears folks have that are actually too much as "aspirational gearing"
Funny! I may use that someday.

I am 61. I do about 20 to 30 mile rides. I live CT very hilly. My average speed is about 15. What is your average speed?

Why does it matter? Are you having fun? THAT's what counts!
It’s just a “yard stick” to use for comparison when whipping out yer unit might get you arrested.
