Yes, I like this archival film of Jewish humor and the bilingualism when a lot of Jews who were not haredi still spoke Yiddish ....as I saw over the years going to Jewish Dairy Restaurants for Yiddish speaking garment workers and others. and I regret my folks never spoke it at home although they grew up with Yiddish as a living language in their homes.

Yeh, the cafe owner in the end also stands on his principles. Quite a logical skit.

@litmitdetinka1670 I ask you, what is comedy, if not logic?

Jewish humor goes back a long way. The amazing part is how mainstream America embraced it.

There's a fabulous scene in, " The Night They Raided Minsky's '" that takes in a lower East Side section of Manhattan authentic deli with bagels being thrown. Most authentic and in English. Highly recommended this great filmk

Now that is how I remember how bagels should look. Not those giant, doughy behemoths they have today.

I used to get a big bagel with an inch of butter at the New York coffee and bagel stands. I don't remember what they cost. The deli downtown gave a big sandwich with a pound of turkey on it.

The thing is: even tho' I don't understand more than a few words of Yiddish, this is hilarious even without the subtitles. I guess it's conditioned response.

Same humor like Seinfeld and Curb.
