Cherai, a small town that combines sun, sand and sea is situated around 25 Kms from Kochi International Airport. It is a charming serene village in God’s Own Country and one of the most delightful holiday destinations in India. It is located in the northern side of Vypin Island, a suburb of Kochi. With the Arabian Sea on one side and the pristine backwaters on the other Cherai offers you the best holiday experience. This charming little place has the distinction of having the longest beach in Kochi which is popular not just for swimming, but also for dolphin viewing. Small hotels and souvenir shops are available next to resort. But if you need more varieties, you need travel about 3 Kms to Cherai town.
Cherai is a destination which you can visit year-round. However, if you prefer things cool, try visiting between October and March. To celebrate Kerala’s biggest festival Onam, then you should try visiting in August-September. And, if you want to see the Pooram or the festival where the annual elephant procession is held, then you should be visiting in January-February. You can always plan a Kerala circuit trip with Club Mahindra Ashtamudi, Club Mahindra Munnar and Club Mahindra Wayanadu.
