I was at this show. Kim is why I attempted to learn harmonica. When it comes to Chicago style blues harp he’s the greatest living example of that to me. Muddy Waters wasn’t kidding. Plus he’s a good singer and great front man. Living legend and national treasure.
Good to see there are still guitarist's that don't need 200 foot pedals . Don't get me wrong if that what floats your boat go for it , but it's nice to hear a guitar with out it .
Noticed some of my sound disappeared when using pedals and multi fx.!! My Fender Stratocaster and Fender 100 Twin are sharper clearer on their own.!! Need bypass footswitch to enable.!!
I saw The Fabulous Thunderbirds in Austin, Texas many times, before and after their first album. Kim remains a great singer, harp player, and front-man all those years ago.
Watching and listening to the GUITAR-PLAYER: Maybe this is the sound & feeeling back in the early days of LEO FENDER! ... naked clean guitar straight into the amp - no fancy effect pedals! - BUT - a lot of experience in his fingers! ... CHAPEAU! OUTSTANDING!
DON'T ASK for quality - ASK FOR 'Fabulous' quality! ;-) ... real GREAT BAND! ... superb musicians on stage! ... AWESOME instrumental/harp solo with wonderful interaction from drummer! ... over all - STANDING OVATION from Europe/Austria! ... CHEERS!
I was always a Kim Wilson fan, used to follow them around so. calif... saw loads of shows, "Kim still is rocking it."this band sounds awesome, and cool. now I live far away. we also were at the show they did up in Los Angeles, a Night in Los=Angeles.. way good.
My name is Dora my sister is Roma, she was a professional Blue's singer, back iin the day. I'm so glad to see Kim and his band. I used to catch his performances in Kansas' City mostly at the Grand Emporium when Roger Naber operated it. Kid Ramos was with the band. And at several outdoor concerts. I also saw him in 2007 Legendary Rhythm and Blue's Cruise. Fantastic singer. His voice is very distinct. I said hi to him once in the middle of the ocean. He acknowledged me then immediately turned his attention to then wife and band mates.
Every time I see Kim Wilson , I think of Albert Collins in his bus with Kim's shoes on the dash board and Kim walkin in his bare feet after the card game . Don't know if it's true but I like it .
THANK YOU for all your videos datflys. Can you please tell me do you have video of Dana Fuchs full concert there from a few years ago? Thanks and hope to hear from you.
he is just a killer singer. Awesome talent. He is 71..... unbelive..... just saying Bon Jovi. He can't sing anymore.... But this gentleman here is a pure joy.
On tuff enuff, the 2 sax players missed a huge opportunity to try to make that synth/ keyboard soind from the original. They coulve used mutes or something. An effort would have been noticed.
The guitar player sounds like he is playing through a transistor radio. I am amazed at what people accept as amps today. Good player but lousy sound. Kim is great no matter who he plays with. Nice horn section.
Great band, unfortunately this is the most underwhelming guitar player I have ever seen with the T-Birds. Maybe it's because he is not being given the room to play.
I love the Fabulous Thunderbirds, but this is not them, this is Kim’s Blues Review. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve got all of Kim’s solo stuff too. The last incarnation of the T-birds that I consider to be actually a T-birds feel and attitude is Kirk and Nick guitar duo. Every incarnation before but none after. Seems Kim is using The T-Birds name for booking gigs only.
Jimmy left the Tbirds decades ago. It hasn’t been his band for probably 30 years. Bunches of great guitar players have passed through the band since he left.
@@mikebruns8839 my minds been on Johnny Winter for many, many years so it was rare that I really noticed anybody else, now I'm really into Chris Cain and Josh smith
Kim Wilson sounds better than ever and has a great backing band. Got to catch them when he comes to town.
DEAN SHOT GUITAR KILLER 🎸🎸

Agreed.
Shepherd's Chapel Network !!!!!!! Pastor Murray is an Anointed Servant of GOD who teaches the Word of GOD with Authority!!!!!!!
The small horn section gives the band a 40’s- 50’s sound… a nice real mature change to the old lineup, very nice!
But it would be much cooler with Jimmie and Kieth.
Jerry Weldon - love Jerry Weldon so dirty and beautiful
I have always loved Kim Wilson's vocals!😍🥰🤩
What energy and Kim's in his 70s now.

Now that's some real good music - party, dance, drinking and so much more - great job by the band - thx!

Look closer. He's playing an overdrive pedal. It sits on top of his amp.
@@asmartelle OK - Special Sacred Forces will check this! ;-)
Have seen Kim with a band in many configurations. ALWAYS a great show. he never mails it in.
Great show, superb band
You mean he always nails it…😉
congratulations on turning 71, thats what I get to do this summer , turn 71 but always fabulous... Kim congrats

The first album is called GIRLS GO WILD. Jimmy Vaughan on guitar. Get it.
That's back when the Thunderbirds were the SHIT!!
The old stuff, "Tell Me," "That's enough of that Stuff,"
And my all time Fave, "Tear It Up."
Jimmie? Yeah he's the shit on roots blues, lives in Austin
Wow! What a great rendition of the T-Birds....wonderful tenor saxophonist!
Awesome great music great concert
I caught these guys when Jimmy Vaughn was Da Man!
They opened for Los Lobos....fookin great Show!!!
Pros. Through and through. What a harp solo!
Happy day to view this talent. Love those Thunderbirds💕🎶💕
That Strat is CLEAN! Jimmy Vaughn was to these guys as Ronnie wood was to the Faces. Legendary!
Good comparison.
And I agree!
Use to go listen to these guys many years ago at Rome Inn in Austin, back when Jimmy was the lead and no one had even heard of Stevie yet.
Yup!!
Blues is spoken here.
Love them fills Dean
So nice to see them again .Love em
Me being a little bit of a guitar player, I am really in awe of Dean Shot's guitar work on this video!
Kim chooses his guitar players wisely; a little like John Mayall.
Brilliant, some real soulful blues from this amazing band. Thanks for posting the video 👌
She's Tough.....what a cool ass song!
Wow, dude, instantly subbed, The T-Birds are legendary, I miss Jimmie V, but that sax player is jazzy as hell! Love it! Rock on, Kim
Love hear that Fender Jazz bass.
we have tickets tonight - 4-10-2024 to see Kim Wilson and the Fabulous Thunderbirds in Seattle and we're Stoked! 🤣

Bless up to the harmonica OG; Kim Wilson
I first saw them at Greune hall, Texas back in 80 or 81. and many times after that. good times
They're covered my two songs number one Soul Time @ 33:51 and number two Everybody Knows @ 01:42:04. Thanks guys!!
This is real music, perfekt, everywere
Been awhile since I last heard these dudes...thanx.
Saw them live in 85. They had Jimmy Vaughan on guitar back then.
What a great show!
I have that first album... Greatness.
Holy Cow! Amazing harmonica!
Sure most all viewed it, but watch the official music video of this song. Excellent. If you go down that rabbit hole, watch their Wrap It Up video.
Una de mis bandas favoritas! Gracias por el espectáculo! Saludos desde Argentina!
There's no language barrier with the Blues.
Be Well Hermano!!
Esa musica me da parriva la escucho en mi trabajo y me da energia

Great session! Thanks for share.
Love these guys!
🔊At last🔝 Thank you 🙏🏻
Gosh ... I saw them ... I think 30 or more years ago in Mobile, Alabama.
The Beatles did a version of that song Slow Down.....my band used to cover it and I sang it ...fun tune
NJ guy makes good! Congrats Dean! See you at the Great Notch soon?
Most excellent, we need some of the audience to sthu just for a few minutes.
Wonders if this will be the same band he'll have at House of Blues here in Houston in august.. I'd pay to see these guys for sure ;-)
BLUESNSIMO, THATS ALL? TGOOD IS NEVER ENOUGH . HAPPY DAY HAPPY LIFE
Yeah! guy make the Strat cry
Saw them in the 80's when Jimmy was with them. Birmingham Al
The Fabulous Thunderbirds mk278,003 ;)
he s not even use a pick. Great tone. Whole band just swings. Great.
Watch the whole show. He does use a pick.
@@asmartelle yeahhh i see, but he sound awesome without. Thats what i want have to say.
Jimmie Vaughan never used a pick either.
@@thomasbarrett8999 never ever 😁

Kim Wilson is great, the rest of the band - solid. Jimmy Vaughan is greatly missed in the Tbirds.....

THANK YOU for all your videos datflys. Can you please tell me do you have video of Dana Fuchs full concert there from a few years ago? Thanks and hope to hear from you.
I saw them with Jimmy Vaughn in the late 80's at the Sheraton Ballroom in Waikiki Hi......great show but they sure we're drunk.....
quand le new cd ?
With all respect to the band members, it is difficult for me to listen to Tuff Enough without Jimmie Vaughan’ licks and Preston Hubbard’s bass line
I like that guitarist do not any or very little reverb.
It sounds good 😊
Anyone know who's playing the saxophone with the dark hair?
Is that Jimi Bott on drums?
Did Johnny Moeller left?
Why isn't Stevie Rays brother Jimmy Ray on the guitar?
Who is the new guitar player?
Dean Shot
My respects how can a singer memorize so many songs an not make a mistake ¿?
he is just a killer singer. Awesome talent. He is 71..... unbelive..... just saying Bon Jovi. He can't sing anymore.... But this gentleman here is a pure joy.
"His Fabulous Thunderbird"s ?

I thought Joe Bastianic’s the singer....before cameraman zoomed in..
I love Kim, and the band sounds good, but this isn't the Fabulous Thunderbirds. Time to rename it.
Yeah man.. the Kim Wilson All-Star Band or whatever
I thought a harp was a bigger instrument
🤣🤣
Great band, unfortunately this is the most underwhelming guitar player I have ever seen with the T-Birds. Maybe it's because he is not being given the room to play.
Thought it was John Lee Hooker.
Jeez, Kim's worked the night shift for 50 years, and he don't look none the worse for it.
Nice band, but maybe a piano player could help a little bit?
I love the Fabulous Thunderbirds, but this is not them, this is Kim’s Blues Review. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve got all of Kim’s solo stuff too. He's an original member, so he has the right. Plus he's covering Thunderbird songs. I'd be glad to see him if he called his band Fine Wine.
So did Jimmy retire? That's always been Jimmy's band
Jimmy left the Tbirds decades ago. It hasn’t been his band for probably 30 years. Bunches of great guitar players have passed through the band since he left.

Sounds great, but just not the same without Jimmy.
Revel in Dimes better
How are these guys the Fabulous Thunderbirds? Fake much?
