- Scalloping on the Zebu Fairhaven, MA. Summer of 1982! Just out of high school I fished with one of my best friends "Darrell Hancock" and this fun crazy crew from New London, CT.! I commercially scalloped for four years, this was by far the most fun I had on a fishing vessel! The captain was Scott Clingenpeel, Rick Clingenpeel, John Tank and the rest I can't remember, if anyone knows the crew names, drop me a line.

I think Scott's brother was Rick, I remember you and I had wheel watch while steaming out, and we were doing figure 8"s to see it drawn out on the plotter. Scott comes up and says wtf are you guy's doing? Good times
The zebu and zebet in the early sixties those two trawlers fished out isle aux more Newfoundland ,,l was a deckhand on the zebet for some time,,I was just a young lad then,,, strong back with a weak mind,,loved it,,
There was a 3rd one I was told but the name escapes me!

This was great to watch , spent many years lobstering on Long Island sound and unfortunately have very few pictures , worked hard and had alot of fun as well

Nice to see an older scallop video like this. I've been scalloping in new bedford for almost 20 years now. Very few boat nowadays put the drags on the rail like that. Most just flare them from the stern to make sure the drags are right side up before they let the main wire out. I don't even think that F/V Zebu is even around anymore? Thank's for the video!

@LivingAfterMetal Yes you are correct on your observations professor but I haven't scalloped in 25 years and I was doing the narrative on the fly! Just having fun with the old film footage I shot!
