I'm a cancer survivor! And I totally know how feel. I'm currently in school for radiation oncology, I feel like I could really connect with the patients and make them more comfortable
Kayla Dorion I am a RN I went to school for this after I was cancer free! It does help me to connect to my patients and they feel so much comfort because I can truly say I know how you feel, and I mean it. I tell them I have been there and I have done it and look at me now you can do it and we will do it together! I cry with them, laugh with them and just really listen to them. I get told so many times how much I have impacted there life and there treatment, it means the world to me! I am so proud of you! And excited for you to feel some of what I do now! My cancer was in my uterus then a year later in my surrounding tissue, I had several complications but came out a winner!
My daughter had bone cancer. We were lucky enough that she went to a camp for kids with cancer. She often said that her camp friends were the only ones who"got it". I'm happy you have this support for you❤️
Courtney, I totally understand what you are talking about. When I had breast cancer I sometimes felt like no one understood what I was going through. Sometimes drs lack compassion. I think you found the perfect dr. It was meant to be. When I had my mammogram last month, the technician that normally does my mammogram informed me she had breast cancer. She asked ME questions about my cancer and treatment and said I made HER feel better. And that made me feel great that I could help answer her questions and make her feel better about what she’s going through. It really does make a difference when someone relates to what you’re going through. I relate and I am always praying for you. Stay strong, love. 💕
This made me happy!! I have lupus and its soo hard for me to have others "get it" they can't see my pain and suffering on the inside and i love when i get someone i can actually talk to about it and they know what its like to have pain like this.
I do not remember if I told you before, but I have two nieces with brain cancer. They both have gone through what you have gone through with chemotherapy and all the treatment required. One of them had to stop working because of the seizures she had at work and when driving. She adopted a girl around the time she was diagnosed. That girl is 18 years old now and she is till Ok and alive. The other one had two girls after she was diagnosed and they are 8 and 9 now and she is still here. Plus I knew a lady at work who was sent home to die because of a brain tumor. She was almost blind because of it. She did not die. She had a girl after that and she used to go to school to pick up her girl like any other normal person. The girl was about 10 years old. So there is hope. Be positive and God Bless You!

I don't normally comment but I have watched you from the very beginning and silently watched your recovery and path. And I went back to the very first video you made after surgery and then I came back to this one And I can honestly say I got really emotional, you may not think it yourself but WOW you have improved, your talking so fast your not stuttering your not messing up words your not repeating anymore your learning and getting back your wider vocabulary THIS IS PROGRESS GIRL! It sounds as though you've found more support that you've been absolutely needing. So happy to hear this! And you're absolutely right, if someone hasn't been through a certain ordeal and they're trying so hard to understand...it'll actually never happen unless they've physically or mentally Bennett through and dealt with the same issue themselves. I myself have never experienced the pain and sickness you're going through for myself or another family/friend so I can't and won't say I know how you feel. But I can be here to listen and support along with others. I have also seen strong willed, inspirational, loving, unselfish people like yourself in situations, keep fighting and going strong to fight whatever their dealing with and never give up. Now, I know you'll get through this! With strength, will power, love, support, courage and faith you can beat and doing anything! I'll continue to be here with you in your journey. also so glad when you meet people that God inspired to go into the hard hard work of become a health care professional. We forget doctors also become ill, and it gives them great empathy.
Hi Sweetheart. Please consider joining a cancer survivor group in your area. There are more that feel the exact same way. Please please search for a group which is really near you so you can meet them and talk to them in person. And if you can't do it by yourself ask your mom to help you find one or ask your new doctor if she can suggest a group. So happy for you. This was a meet up planned by the lord himself. I'm surprised that you never met any other cancer patients in your hospital? You should look into support groups through your hospital/in your community, or even online. I think it would really help you to talk it out with people who understand ❤
Courtney, I think you were MEANT TO HAVE THIS DR!!!!! I thing “regular “ drs are referred to as Primary Care Physicians. And I truly believe this was Divine orchestration by our Heavenly Father!!! It is AMAZING and WONDERFUL that you have a FEMALE DR to talk with who truly knows and understands everything you are going through!! I’m sorry you have to go through so much...but I’m praying 🙏🏻 for you and believe that you are going to be completely healed!! Your strong spirit and positive attitude lift you up and your story is so inspiring to others!!! Something that you initially believed was bad turned into a time to empathize with someone who experienced the same thing as you. That’s the best feeling-empathy. Court, this video really hit home for me. When my son was 4 years old he was diagnosed with a rare and high risk form of leukemia. Because of this he was on the highest doses of chemo available for 3 1/2 years. I watched my little guy suffer tremendously while these toxic drugs ran through his tiny little system. I spent those 3 1/2 years with an aching heart knowing how hard this was for him. I saw him go from a vibrant, rambunctious happy child to a little boy whose quality of life turned into that of a 80 year old man while on treatment. I felt lost and alone as no one I knew had a child with a life threatening cancer. No one know how difficult it was for him. No one could understand my sadness or the grief I felt for the life we had before cancer barged into our lives without warning. I felt isolated and different from anyone, everyone. They’d all tell me “your son will be ok” or “I can imagine how hard it would be”. No. No you can’t unless you’ve lived it. I finally met a mom whose child had a very similar diagnosis as my sons. We talked for hours understand each other, finally having someone that really did ‘get it’. We helped each other through some of the most difficult, darkest days and it was life changing having someone that finally understood. It was someone finally validating the things we were going through instead of just brushing it off. I’ve been a firm believer since then that people come into our lives for a purpose. To this day we remain great friends. I’m so happy for you that this doctor has come into the picture. You are an incredible woman for sharing your journey.

Girl you are not alone at all! Chemo absolutely sucks. I've never had radiation but I am and will be on chemotherapy for, most likely, the rest of my life - or however long my body can take it. There is nothing that feels better than talking to people who've been through exactly what you're going through - whether its chemo and radiation or really anything else that's specifically different going on in your life. You might ask your oncologist if their are any support groups for cancer patients at your hospital or just look for one online. I have one of the rarest diseases you can find anywhere but I've been able to find someone with the exact same thing online and talking to her has been immeasurably valuable. There are so many people out there who totally get it just like your Dr., you just gotta do a little digging. So glad you found someone, though. I know how incredible it feels to finally have that 🤗
It definitely does suck and it does feel like you are dying. That is how chemo will make you feel to get rid of the bad. I am so glad that you have someone you know, particularly your Primary Care Physician that can understand. That is great that you both are not alone and can talk to eachother about it all. There’s a lot of times where I feel bad as well and it sucks when I don’t know if what I feel is normal. It’s always good to find people that feel exactly the same as you. I’m so glad you were able to find that person!! Stay strong girl!
I am glad you post these. I am elated you got a doctor who gets it! It is so hard to go through something no one gets but yourself. I understand what you mean about "a head ache and brain ache" I calls them Brain Aches. I get these as I have brain damage in my left hemisphere. It affects my speech, some thing of thinking.... I forget things like simple words and my right hand gets so in pain from my nerve damage in my neck and back. It really is so frustrated. I get mad at myself for not being able to form cohesive words. However it is important to be kind to yourself when these stupid things happen. We did not choose this IT chose us. I love you so much. Thank you for posting about your experiences. It really helps others and your subscribers get to know what it is like living each day with brain cancer and the treatments etc..

I started watching you from a recommended video and the first time i saw your video was your cancer announcement and it really broke my heart and every time you do a update i click so fast because although i haven't been watching you for that long i want to see you get better. Every time i watch a video i'm rooting for you and your last update broke my heart so it's just amazing to hear that you found someone to relate too and to just feel like you aren't alone. Many people could say you aren't alone because so many people struggle with cancer it's different to actually see and talk to someone who has been through those things as well. Support groups are amazing. My sister had AML and the online support group she was in gave her so much strength and you can turn to those people when you need someone to talk to who actually understand exactly what you're going through. You're amazing, stay strong💪💜

OMG your so inspiration huni and what your doing on here with Raising awareness and sharing your story is such an incredible thing as your helping so many people i have also had cancer nearly 25 years ago when I was 5 and had to get my leg amputated because of it the chemo and the rest of the treatments absolutely suck and you become so exhausted mentally and physically and you feel like how much more can i really take and there's nothing worse than when people Say to you that it sucks or that they know how you feel but they don't have the slightest idea how it feel unless they have been through it I just want to say Thank you to you huni for being so courageous and even with all the stuff your going through that your still as beautiful as ever and a want you to keep fighting a wish you all the best and I will be checking on here to see how your getting on ❤️xx
Hugs to you!! Everyone's chemo is different. My friend was sick for 2 days after chemo--she'd have a 1 day grace period and then she'd need to stay quiet for 2 days. She had to work the whole time too (dead beat husband) and her work was so wonderful and they switched the day off that the dentist took to Mondays so she could have an extended weekend. I'm surprised they haven't suggested a group therapy for you with those dealing with the same thing---I TOTALLY know how you feel in finding someone who understands everything you are dealing with. Other people can only know so much and it's frustrating when you feel so ill. I remember watching a documentary of a young lady, around your age, who was going through chemo and her group supporters said that they way they got through the bad times/during chemo, that the sicker they felt, they said they knew that it was killing the cancer. I can't say if that will help or not, but I think it was a very interesting way of coping with such misery. Hugs to you!!!

I’m so happy to hear that you found someone that gets you. My aunt also has cancer and is still going through the treatment..she was really weak before and now she’s gotten better. Although she’s going through this, she’s still cooking and doing things and doctors are surprised by how she’s handling and well you’re doing so great!
A good primary physician is so important. I’m incredibly happy that you’ve found one that truly understands you. I really love my primary physician. He’s just so sweet. They’re irreplaceable.
Girl, you need to get in a great facebook group for your particular type of cancer. I have had melanoma. It was awful, the fear and the trauma just from the diagnosis and the treatment, and the scars. and the exhaustion. I don't know what it would have been like to go through it alone. You don't have to be alone in those experiences and feelings. I hope that you are able to find other people with the same experiences. I am so sorry that you have felt such isolation for that . I am really glad that you got a primary care doctor who made you feel better about yourself and what you are going through. No one wants to be in the club, good old cancer club. but at least you don't have to be alone! hugs! love the new wig btw!
Your right no one knows or gets it unless you’ve walked those footsteps. I know it’s nowhere near what you have going on but I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and Fibromyalgia with a healthy dose of Chronic Migraines that requires botox for treatment and I feel like no one gets the pain and other symptoms that I’m going through. I’m so glad you got to connect with someone who’s walked that mile and gets it especially having it be your new primary care physician. I pray that once you’re done with the chemo you’ll be able to fully recover and never look back.
I am so glad your primary care dr understands your journey and can relate. I have a chronic illness and when I met someone walking the same journey as me it provided me with that much needed first hand support during the hard and positive times. Hugs
Head pain is the absolute worst, you can't ignore it. I couldn't imagine how that must feel :(. I had chronic nerve pain in my mouth from a rare mouth disease and it is incredibly demotivating and depressing. Stay strong I'm so happy that you have someone to connect with ❤️ it's hard to find comfort in those that haven't experienced what you're going through.
So glad you found a doctor that gets it! I deal with chronic pain and I’m having to switch doctors because she basically said the pain is all in my head! Once my MRI results came back and showed evidence of a problem, then she started believing me. It’s so hard when people don’t understand the pain you’re talking about or how bad the medicine makes you feel. Sending you good vibes 💛💛💛

I haven’t watched your videos in a long time. Just now I thought about you and had to search you up. It’s weird because I’m sure I was subscribed. From the bottom of my heart I hope you feel better and get through this journey. Not too long ago an old friend from high school passed away because of stupid cancer. I understand more of what she went through and how tiring it is and how cancer changes you. I think It must’ve been slightly annoying when people would say keep fighting over and over when we don’t know how it feels, the pain, the physical and mental change. I imagine it makes you feel like you want to give up just to get over it but deep down inside you’re fighting so hard. She fought for a while and she fought couple of times. Cancer doesn’t just affect the victim it also affects family and friends. 💕

I also had a braintumor. My biggest wish is to be a beauty guru. I wish i had so much support as you have. It is so diffecult and lonely some times. I am glad that you at least have your channel. It is my biggest wish in the world to have something like that..
I’m a cancer survivor, too !!! I had breast cancer in 2010. What helped me was joining a cancer support group! I needed to talk to other people, like you said, that get it! People that have not had cancer definitely mean well & are trying their best to help, but you really need others that are feeling the same way you are. If there’s no group in your area maybe there’s an online group? Or..... start your own! The emotional part of cancer can be just as hard as the physical part and us survivors need each other!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I understand this, I had a similiar problem with my psicologist.... they knew what I was supposed to feel, they undertood the base of my problem, but they hadnt gone trhough it... and I couldnt really feel "safe" idk if it makes sense... but then 2 years ago, my doctor went on vacations and got lost in a forest and had his first panic/anxiety attack, and now he sees everything so clearly... i dont wish cancer or depression to anybody, but i do understand why is so important to you to feel understood,, i feel the same way, and im sooo happy for you, im glad u have a doctor u can truly relate to!, kisses from Argentina

My chemo makes me so tired all the time, also makes my entire body just hurts all the time, having cancer sucks! I am glad that you are still making videos. I get the headache vs your head just hurting. It’s like my skull hurts.
I’m so glad you found someone who can empathize with you. I’m sorry you’re having to go through all this. But, your speech has improved so much recently! Baby steps get us where we need to be.
That does totally make a difference. I had breast cancer and had hopefully my last reconstruction surgery on October 19th and my post surgery nurse was a breast cancer survivor and went through reconstruction and we got to talk a bit. It was great to have a nurse right after surgery that totally got it.

I had breast cancer going on 3 years now, I had surgery, chemo and radiation. Chemo is hard, but I looked forward to it, strange I know, I knew that it would be worth it in the end. I'm so happy that you have your new doctor, it makes a world of difference when you have other people around you who have been through what you are going through. You are an amazing young woman!!

There are primary care physicians / general practitioners and specialists. I’m the same way: I have many specialists but need a new primary care doctor. To find one who can put all the pieces together and work with your specialists is quite a feat. I’m glad you found one you like!

My mom’s chemo was also really strong it would hurt her entire body so she would just sleep for 2 weeks straight. She wouldn’t walk around much because her legs hurt and she would have to force herself to eat because she had no appetite and she always said nothing tasted how it was suppose to taste. She would just cry about how sad she was and how tired and in pain she was. It was the worst thing i have ever had to witness, and being someone who only witnessed it I really cannot imagine how you feel. I’m glad you found someone to vent to my mom found a place for cancer patients amp survivors I’m our area and talking to the people there really helped her. Maybe try looking around on the internet if there are facebook groups or other things like that in your area it could really help :)
I'm so happy you found a doctor who has experienced what you feel. Make sure you keep going to her. I have always said this same thing about doctors. I believe they need some kind of extra training so they can feel what we feel. Even if the medical profession came up with some kind of vertial reality game or movie for certain medical conditions so the doctors could some how experience the emotions of things would make better doctors now and in the future. You're so strong! Even if we can't relate to you we're always here. I lost my mom two weeks ago today and it's so hard I don't even want to leave my bed. I miss her so much its hard to get ger off my mind and I usually don't I'm always thinking of her. You help me distract my mind for even just a little bit. I love you Courtney !!!
I'm so happy for you that you actually have someone in your life that has been where you've been and understands how you feel. I mean you don't feel alone now. Obviously mentally you know there are other people in the world with cancer but to have one that is now your "Family Dr. or General Practitioner" (thats what you were trying to say) whose been there and has gone thru what you've gone thru can bring comfort and someone to talk to. I could tell that this helped you so much! I was curious.... does your hospital or community have any type of support groups that you could go to and be around/talk to others that are either going through what you are or have gone through it? I think something like that would be great to get you out and by making some friends that you can talk to on a deeper level. I don’t know how you feel about talking with subscribers, I know sometimes that can be a little scary since you are in a public forum to open yourself up to virtual strangers but I’ve read comments in your feed of others who have gone through it/going through it that maybe you could reach out to and chat online with. Another idea is online support groups. I’m sure there are chat groups/support groups you could find and still keep you anonymity but allow you to relate, get some great coping skills or just vent to those who understand. You just seemed so full of happiness and light when talking about this I think it would help pull you through some of the darkness of cancer/chemo when you need complete and total understanding. your doctor can be a "team mate", someone on your TEAM that cares about you. I am SO GLAD for you, and I'll bet the doctor felt at the end of her day that she really had a great day.. .that's why she became a doctor. To help others, and she HELPED YOU. It's not just medicine! THIS IS WO WONDERFUL!!
Girl!! Look into the “look good feel better” classes through the American cancer society!!! It’s a makeup class taught by volunteer licensed hairstylists/cosmetologists.. about an hour or so long. You get a huge kit of free (high end!) makeup, a bunch of booklets and info .. and they instruct you on how to apply makeup when the treatments alter your hair/brows/lashes/etc. info about free wigs too! - even if you’re not into the “how to” part - everyone in the class LOVES is because you get to hang out with and talk with other women who 100% understand and know what you’re going through, because they’re going through it too at the same time!! Look into it babes!! xo
Awww, I've been following your story and have been praying for you. I had leukemia from 16-19 years old... I lost my hair and went through chemo. It halted my life for a while, but things do get better. You are so positive and strong, and that will get you through it. 10 years later, I still have trouble recalling words sometimes, not sure if it's from my chemo or what, but cancer has had lasting impacts on my body, and no matter what, I still think it changed my life for the better. I didn’t realize just how blessed I had been going through my spinal repair surgeries and then throw in breast cancer to right after my Mom passed away. When I went to my biopsy one of the technicians talking with me had had breast cancer. The day I was having my surgery to remove the cancer a nurse who went with me from the mammography down to the operating room was a breast cancer survivor and she told me not to worry because I had one of the best doctors. Every step there have been cancer survivors there to help, be someone to lean on, talk to. Both the cancer center and the hospital have been so helpful and supportive every step of the way. My technicians during radiation are like family. My team of doctors are amazing and so are everyone employed at that center. I have to travel an hour there and back which was very difficult during my radiation treatments which were every day and since I couldn’t drive I had to rely on family until we found out about a service that takes the sick, disabled, elderly etc to different places for their appointments. The drive was hard but at least I had a reliable source for transportation. I had had 2 major spinal/brain surgeries in July 2011 and spent a month in the hospital and 2 weeks in the rehabilitation center the month before the surgery to remove the cancer so I had no break between those events before starting radiation treatments. That was followed up with chemo treatments that I still take daily and another monthly. So I completely understand what you’re going through. I did lose a number of people who I considered dear friends until they heard the word cancer and ran as fast as they could the other direction.

Kayla Dorion I am a RN I went to school for this after I was cancer free! It does help me to connect to my patients and they feel so much comfort because I can truly say I know how you feel, and I mean it. I tell them I have been there and I have done it and look at me now you can do it and we will do it together! I cry with them, laugh with them and just really listen to them. I get told so many times how much I have impacted there life and there treatment, it means the world to me! I am so proud of you! And excited for you to feel some of what I do now! My cancer was in my uterus then a year later in my surrounding tissue, I had several complications but came out a winner!

My daughter had bone cancer. We were lucky enough that she went to a camp for kids with cancer. She often said that her camp friends were the only ones who"got it". I'm happy you have this support for you❤️
Courtney, I totally understand what you are talking about. When I had breast cancer I sometimes felt like no one understood what I was going through. Sometimes drs lack compassion. I think you found the perfect dr. It was meant to be.
When I had my mammogram last month, the technician that normally does my mammogram informed me she had breast cancer. She asked ME questions about my cancer and treatment and said I made HER feel better. And that made me feel great that I could help answer her questions and make her feel better about what she’s going through. It really does make a difference when someone relates to what you’re going through. I relate and I am always praying for you. Stay strong, love. 💕
This made me happy!! I have lupus and its soo hard for me to have others "get it" they can't see my pain and suffering on the inside and i love when i get someone i can actually talk to about it and they know what its like to have pain like this.
I do not remember if I told you before, but I have two nieces with brain cancer. They both have gone through what you have gone through with chemotherapy and all the treatment required. One of them had to stop working because of the seizures she had at work and when driving. She adopted a girl around the time she was diagnosed. That girl is 18 years old now and she is till Ok and alive. The other one had two girls after she was diagnosed and they are 8 and 9 now and she is still here. Plus I knew a lady at work who was sent home to die because of a brain tumor. She was almost blind because of it. She did not die. She had a girl after that and she used to go to school to pick up her girl like any other normal person. The girl was about 10 years old. So there is hope. Be positive and God Bless You!

It sounds as though you've found more support that you've been absolutely needing. So happy to hear this! And you're absolutely right, if someone hasn't been through a certain ordeal and they're trying so hard to understand...it'll actually never happen unless they've physically or mentally Bennett through and dealt with the same issue themselves. I myself have never experienced the pain and sickness you're going through for myself or another family/friend so I can't and won't say I know how you feel. But I can be here to listen and support along with others. I have also seen strong willed, inspirational, loving, unselfish people like yourself in situations, keep fighting and going strong to fight whatever their dealing with and never give up. Now, I know you'll get through this! With strength, will power, love, support, courage and faith you can beat and doing anything! I'll continue to be here with you in your journey. Hi Sweetheart. Please consider joining a cancer survivor group in your area. There are more that feel the exact same way. Please please search for a group which is really near you so you can meet them and talk to them in person. And if you can't do it by yourself ask your mom to help you find one or ask your new doctor if she can suggest a group.
So happy for you. This was a meet up planned by the lord himself. He send you someone as he saw you really need someone now.

I'm surprised that you never met any other cancer patients in your hospital? You should look into support groups through your hospital/in your community, or even online. I think it would really help you to talk it out with people who understand ❤
Courtney, I think you were MEANT TO HAVE THIS DR!!!!! I thing “regular “ drs are referred to as Primary Care Physicians. And I truly believe this was Divine orchestration by our Heavenly Father!!! It is AMAZING and WONDERFUL that you have a FEMALE DR to talk with who truly knows and understands everything you are going through!! I’m sorry you have to go through so much...but I’m praying 🙏🏻 for you and believe that you are going to be completely healed!! Your strong spirit and positive attitude lift you up and your story is so inspiring to others!!! Court, this video really hit home for me. When my son was 4 years old he was diagnosed with a rare and high risk form of leukemia. Because of this he was on the highest doses of chemo available for 3 1/2 years. I watched my little guy suffer tremendously while these toxic drugs ran through his tiny little system. I spent those 3 1/2 years with an aching heart knowing how hard this was for him. I saw him go from a vibrant, rambunctious happy child to a little boy whose quality of life turned into that of a 80 year old man while on treatment. I felt lost and alone as no one I knew had a child with a life threatening cancer. No one know how difficult it was for him. No one could understand my sadness or the grief I felt for the life we had before cancer barged into our lives without warning. I felt isolated and different from anyone, everyone. They’d all tell me “your son will be ok” or “I can imagine how hard it would be”. No. No you can’t unless you’ve lived it. I finally met a mom whose child had a very similar diagnosis as my sons. We talked for hours understand each other, finally having someone that really did ‘get it’. We helped each other through some of the most difficult, darkest days and it was life changing having someone that finally understood. It was someone finally validating the things we were going through instead of just brushing it off. I’ve been a firm believer since then that people come into our lives for a purpose. To this day we remain great friends. I’m so happy for you that this doctor has come into the picture. You are an incredible woman for sharing your journey.

Girl you are not alone at all! Chemo absolutely sucks. I've never had radiation but I am and will be on chemotherapy for, most likely, the rest of my life - or however long my body can take it. There is nothing that feels better than talking to people who've been through exactly what you're going through - whether its chemo and radiation or really anything else that's specifically different going on in your life.
You might ask your oncologist if their are any support groups for cancer patients at your hospital or just look for one online. I have one of the rarest diseases you can find anywhere but I've been able to find someone with the exact same thing online and talking to her has been immeasurably valuable. There are so many people out there who totally get it just like your Dr., you just gotta do a little digging. So glad you found someone, though. I know how incredible it feels to finally have that 🤗

It definitely does suck and it does feel like you are dying. That is how chemo will make you feel to get rid of the bad. I am glad you post these. I am elated you got a doctor who gets it! It is so hard to go through something no one gets but yourself. I understand what you mean about "a head ache and brain ache" I calls them Brain Aches. I get these as I have brain damage in my left hemisphere. It affects my speech, some thing of thinking.... I forget things like simple words and my right hand gets so in pain from my nerve damage in my neck and back. It really is so frustrated. I get mad at myself for not being able to form cohesive words. However it is important to be kind to yourself when these stupid things happen. We did not choose this IT chose us. I love you so much. Thank you for posting about your experiences. It really helps others and your subscribers get to know what it is like living each day with brain cancer and the treatments etc..

I started watching you from a recommended video and the first time i saw your video was your cancer announcement and it really broke my heart and every time you do a update i click so fast because although i haven't been watching you for that long i want to see you get better. Every time i watch a video i'm rooting for you and your last update broke my heart so it's just amazing to hear that you found someone to relate too and to just feel like you aren't alone. Many people could say you aren't alone because so many people struggle with cancer it's different to actually see and talk to someone who has been through those things as well. Support groups are amazing. My sister had AML and the online support group she was in gave her so much strength and you can turn to those people when you need someone to talk to who actually understand exactly what you're going through. You're amazing, stay strong💪💜

Raising awareness and sharing your story is such an incredible thing as your helping so many people i have also had cancer nearly 25 years ago when I was 5 and had to get my leg amputated because of it the chemo and the rest of the treatments absolutely suck and you become so exhausted mentally and physically and you feel like how much more can i really take and there's nothing worse than when people
Say to you that it sucks or that they know how you feel but they don't have the slightest idea how it feel unless they have been through it I just want to say Thank you to you huni for being so courageous and even with all the stuff your going through that your still as beautiful as ever and a want you to keep fighting a wish you all the best and I will be checking on here to see how your getting on ❤️xx

Hugs to you!! Everyone's chemo is different. My friend was sick for 2 days after chemo--she'd have a 1 day grace period and then she'd need to stay quiet for 2 days. She had to work the whole time too (dead beat husband) and her work was so wonderful and they switched the day off that the dentist took to Mondays so she could have an extended weekend.
I'm surprised they haven't suggested a group therapy for you with those dealing with the same thing---I TOTALLY know how you feel in finding someone who understands everything you are dealing with. Other people can only know so much and it's frustrating when you feel so ill.
I remember watching a documentary of a young lady, around your age, who was going through chemo and her group supporters said that they way they got through the bad times/during chemo, that the sicker they felt, they said they knew that it was killing the cancer. I can't say if that will help or not, but I think it was a very interesting way of coping with such misery. Hugs to you!!!

I’m so happy to hear that you found someone that gets you. My aunt also has cancer and is still going through the treatment..she was really weak before and now she’s gotten better. Although she’s going through this, she’s still cooking and doing things and doctors are surprised by how she’s handling and well you’re doing so great!

Girl, you need to get in a great facebook group for your particular type of cancer. I have had melanoma. It was awful, the fear and the trauma just from the diagnosis and the treatment, and the scars. and the exhaustion. I don't know what it would have been like to go through it alone. You don't have to be alone in those experiences and feelings. I hope that you are able to find other people with the same experiences. I am so sorry that you have felt such isolation for that . I am really glad that you got a primary care doctor who made you feel better about yourself and what you are going through. No one wants to be in the club, good old cancer club. but at least you don't have to be alone! hugs! love the new wig btw!
Your right no one knows or gets it unless you’ve walked those footsteps. I know it’s nowhere near what you have going on but I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and Fibromyalgia with a healthy dose of Chronic Migraines that requires botox for treatment and I feel like no one gets the pain and other symptoms that I’m going through. I’m so glad you got to connect with someone who’s walked that mile and gets it especially having it be your new primary care physician. I pray that once you’re done with the chemo you’ll be able to fully recover and never look back.
I am so glad your primary care dr understands your journey and can relate. I have a chronic illness and when I met someone walking the same journey as me it provided me with that much needed first hand support during the hard and positive times. Hugs
Head pain is the absolute worst, you can't ignore it. I couldn't imagine how that must feel :(. I had chronic nerve pain in my mouth from a rare mouth disease and it is incredibly demotivating and depressing. Stay strong I'm so happy that you have someone to connect with ❤️ it's hard to find comfort in those that haven't experienced what you're going through.
So glad you found a doctor that gets it! I deal with chronic pain and I’m having to switch doctors because she basically said the pain is all in my head! Once my MRI results came back and showed evidence of a problem, then she started believing me. I haven’t watched your videos in a long time. Just now I thought about you and had to search you up. It’s weird because I’m sure I was subscribed. From the bottom of my heart I hope you feel better and get through this journey. Not too long ago an old friend from high school passed away because of stupid cancer. I understand more of what she went through and how tiring it is and how cancer changes you. I think It must’ve been slightly annoying when people would say keep fighting over and over when we don’t know how it feels, the pain, the physical and mental change. I imagine it makes you feel like you want to give up just to get over it but deep down inside you’re fighting so hard. She fought for a while and she fought couple of times. Cancer doesn’t just affect the victim it also affects family and friends. 💕

I’m a cancer survivor, too !!! I had breast cancer in 2010. What helped me was joining a cancer support group! I needed to talk to other people, like you said, that get it! People that have not had cancer definitely mean well & are trying their best to help, but you really need others that are feeling the same way you are. If there’s no group in your area maybe there’s an online group? Or..... start your own! The emotional part of cancer can be just as hard as the physical part and us survivors need each other!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I understand this, I had a similiar problem with my psicologist.... they knew what I was supposed to feel, they undertood the base of my problem, but they hadnt gone trhough it... and I couldnt really feel "safe" idk if it makes sense... but then 2 years ago, my doctor went on vacations and got lost in a forest and had his first panic/anxiety attack, and now he sees everything so clearly... i dont wish cancer or depression to anybody, but i do understand why is so important to you to feel understood,, i feel the same way, and im sooo happy for you, im glad u have a doctor u can truly relate to!, kisses from Argentina

That does totally make a difference. I had breast cancer and had hopefully my last reconstruction surgery on October 19th and my post surgery nurse was a breast cancer survivor and went through reconstruction and we got to talk a bit. It was great to have a nurse right after surgery that totally got it.

I had breast cancer going on 3 years now, I had surgery, chemo and radiation. Chemo is hard, but I looked forward to it, strange I know, I knew that it would be worth it in the end. There are primary care physicians / general practitioners and specialists. I’m the same way: I have many specialists but need a new primary care doctor. To find one who can put all the pieces together and work with your specialists is quite a feat. I’m glad you found one you like!

My mom’s chemo was also really strong it would hurt her entire body so she would just sleep for 2 weeks straight. She wouldn’t walk around much because her legs hurt and she would have to force herself to eat because she had no appetite and she always said nothing tasted how it was suppose to taste. She would just cry about how sad she was and how tired and in pain she was. It was the worst thing i have ever had to witness, and being someone who only witnessed it I really cannot imagine how you feel. I’m glad you found someone to vent to my mom found a place for cancer patients amp survivors I’m our area and talking to the people there really helped her. Maybe try looking around on the internet if there are facebook groups or other things like that in your area it could really help :)
I'm so happy you found a doctor who has experienced what you feel. Make sure you keep going to her. I have always said this same thing about doctors. I believe they need some kind of extra training so they can feel what we feel. Even if the medical profession came up with some kind of vertial reality game or movie for certain medical conditions so the doctors could some how experience the emotions of things would make better doctors now and in the future. I could tell that this helped you so much! I was curious.... does your hospital or community have any type of support groups that you could go to and be around/talk to others that are either going through what you are or have gone through it? I think something like that would be great to get you out and by making some friends that you can talk to on a deeper level. I don’t know how you feel about talking with subscribers, I know sometimes that can be a little scary since you are in a public forum to open yourself up to virtual strangers but I’ve read comments in your feed of others who have gone through it/going through it that maybe you could reach out to and chat online with. Another idea is online support groups. I’m sure there are chat groups/support groups you could find and still keep you anonymity but allow you to relate, get some great coping skills or just vent to those who understand. You just seemed so full of happiness and light when talking about this I think it would help pull you through some of the darkness of cancer/chemo when you need complete and total understanding. Keep strong my friend.....

Girl!! Look into the “look good feel better” classes through the American cancer society!!! It’s a makeup class taught by volunteer licensed hairstylists/cosmetologists.. about an hour or so long. You get a huge kit of free (high end!) makeup, a bunch of booklets and info .. and they instruct you on how to apply makeup when the treatments alter your hair/brows/lashes/etc. info about free wigs too! - even if you’re not into the “how to” part - everyone in the class LOVES is because you get to hang out with and talk with other women who 100% understand and know what you’re going through, because they’re going through it too at the same time!! Awww, I've been following your story and have been praying for you. I had leukemia from 16-19 years old... I lost my hair and went through chemo. It halted my life for a while, but things do get better. You are so positive and strong, and that will get you through it. 10 years later, I still have trouble recalling words sometimes, not sure if it's from my chemo or what, but cancer has had lasting impacts on my body, and no matter what, I still think it changed my life for the better. It made me a better person and I have more sympathy for others. You never know what other people are going through. Wishing you the best! Love from your fellow Michigander ;)

I didn’t realize just how blessed I had been going through my spinal repair surgeries and then throw in breast cancer to right after my Mom passed away. When I went to my biopsy one of the technicians talking with me had had breast cancer. The day I was having my surgery to remove the cancer a nurse who went with me from the mammography down to the operating room was a breast cancer survivor and she told me not to worry because I had one of the best doctors. Every step there have been cancer survivors there to help, be someone to lean on, talk to. Both the cancer center and the hospital have been so helpful and supportive every step of the way. My technicians during radiation are like family. My team of doctors are amazing and so are everyone employed at that center. I have to travel an hour there and back which was very difficult during my radiation treatments which were every day and since I couldn’t drive I had to rely on family until we found out about a service that takes the sick, disabled, elderly etc to different places for their appointments. The drive was hard but at least I had a reliable source for transportation. I had had 2 major spinal/brain surgeries in July 2011 and spent a month in the hospital and 2 weeks in the rehabilitation center the month before the surgery to remove the cancer so I had no break between those events before starting radiation treatments. That was followed up with chemo treatments that I still take daily and another monthly. So I completely understand what you’re going through. I did lose a number of people who I considered dear friends until they heard the word cancer and ran as fast as they could the other direction.
