ngl, i kinda hope that with the mighty nein reunited special, caleb might finally reach lvl 17 and may be able to learn wish(i firmly believe thats what the line was foreshadowing)
I listened to this before I started watching Campaign 2, which had me coming into it with some funny preconceptions. For example, I thought Keg was the owl's(Thaddeus') name.
I love that Calebs line about Frumpkin finding a new best friend is alluding to Caleb finding a new best friend in Beau. Their relationship is among my favorite of the M9 as it is probably the most unlikely friendship brought about by circumstance. Liam is so damn good at subtle character development, I love it

My DM (my brother) told me and my cousins about a library called "The Mystic Archives of Sir Otonin" run by a retired wizard, Lady Lofai, where we could spend our downtime and search for clues for our next adventure and learn new spells. He played this song as background music as soon as we entered. We stayed in there for a long...long...time lol

Given the setting has things like phonographs, pianos, early revolvers (pepper boxes), and a shed load of other things that are very 1800s I personally have always thought of it as being sort of pseudo modern no real time thing going on. Sort of like how disk world books do. So the look of the art in them is to me just how I thought the setting looked.

The seamless way this channel has been able to pivot with it's content since the lockdown is a testament to the verstaility and creativity of the whole team behind ths channel and I just want to say you should all be very proud of what you've been able to create here.
100% this, though i really sympathize with the current campaign being steadily released (Although i am but 3 episodes from being current and it has helped me catch up), I really appreciate as well what came out of it, the AWNP Unpee'ds, Narrative Telephones, Lofi beats are all just amazing ideas for us to kinda bask in the energy of the channel even though the campaign is on hold.
I really hope that the whole team is doing well in spite of all this and that once it is safe to gather again, they will have the energy to come back in full force. Don't forget to love each other guys!! :D

I was talking to my husband about this today and how much of a badass creative Marisha is that they were able to make the transition and keep putting out stellar content despite everything going on. The whole team is just on point all the time. We are lucky to have them.

I truly envy people who have the patience and persistence to get good at visual art. Not only is the style beautiful, but Beau and Caleb both feel so natural in this scene, like they were pulled straight from the minds of Marisha and Liam. Keep up the good work Critters!
I love all the mighty vibes mixes, but since school started up again a few weeks ago I keep returning to this one and I think I've figured out why: the visual composition of this video makes you feel like you're sitting at the table with Caleb & Beau, whereas in the others you feel more like an observer or a witness. It feels as if you're in this library with them, like you're all in the same study group :")
My poor little artist nerd heart is going to explode, d&d, lofi AND top notch animation??? The animation whenever Beau or Caleb flips a page and especially when Caleb resummons the lights are SO gorgeous! The atmosphere is so nice 🥺❤️

Since I was young I always new I wanted to work in storytelling.... now I'm a VFX artist and indie game developer. For the longest time I was worried that my profession was not important.... if we had to cut down to the essentials in a national or global crisis my job would be the first. With age I've realized that fantasy is more important even in times of crisis. It's a place for us to retreat to and learn from... coming back to reality stronger. In WW1 Tolkien had Middle Earth, in WW2 America had comics. Don't feel guilty for escaping into your games, films, or RPGs.... use it to come back with renewed strength to face the world.

Actually, thank you. I "escape" into worlds of fiction a lot when reality seems too dark, too tough and too meaningless. Fiction re-ignites and helps me regain energy to "fight on" in the real world. Thank you. Fiction and art are some of the more beautiful aspects of human nature, and they help. A lot. Keep up your vfx and Indie game work, we need art and good story-telling to really feel alive! Your work is important too

@@blackthornss They do add a bit of a feeling of other people being not too far away while I work on a campaign. Normally voice tracks throw me off, but these ones work well.
Cad, Beau and Fjord could meditate together, or Cad could cook with Jester or garden with Yasha. Cad could go with everyone

Beau just casually rereading Tusk love for the 5th time while Caleb is putting the final touches on "Caleb Widoghasts Fire Death Dunamancy" spell.
Widoghast's Flame Well. Combine a gravity pull with fire damage.
Hearing that "I want to bend reality to my will" line again makes me hope Matt maybe buffs Time Stop so Caleb has a stronger incentive to take it. Maybe make it so that only directly harming a creature ends the spell early, make all stopped creatures paralyzed, and possibly stop time for instead 1d4 + Int mod number of rounds, and suddenly the spell is actually worthy of being 9th level. You can buff allies, debuff enemies, put a rock over a guy, pull people out of danger, etc.
Fun fact, Marisha's Darrington Brigade character, Hazel Copperpot, invented the wax cylinder phonograph in 825 PD (she called it the "audiomatic"). Vinyl records, or something similar, may have been invented by the time of Campaign 2 ten years later. Basically I'm saying that record players are canon to Exandria and this scene could be canon.
Beau and Caleb in this animation reminds me of the episode where Caleb was going crazy that Beau wanted to stay in the library and research :D

Small detail that I think is super cool I just noticed, if you look at Caleb's eyes, you can literally see them go down the left page, then go back up to the left, then down that page and flip to the next one, this animation is gorgeous and I love it.
I love all the Lofi Beat compilations from CR, but I have to say that this one is definitely my favorite. I normally feel completely lost with the schoolwork I do, but I just put this on and it doesn't feel like a chore any more... There are plenty of other Lofi Beat comps to do with other characters, but I genuinely hope that another is done like this one.

Oh I love Widogast's tunes of Chilling, my favorite spell!
Okay, so you've probably already got more ideas, but for other characters, what about Fjord and Caduceus meditating, Veth and her husband working in an alchemical lab together, and then maybe Yasha looking out at a storm. Those seem like they'd fit those characters easily enough for this sort of theming.
Possibly Yasha and Jester painting on her bedroom wall as an alternate suggestion.
Or Yasha looking out at the sky with molly being in the stars
they should do one of yasha just chilling in the rain with some rain sounds and distant lightning mixed with the lo fi i think that would be the vibe but I also like the idea that @Buddhabright has of Jester and Yasha painting.
They could have Yasha and Molly laying out in a field as the circus sets up their tent in the background!

I could see it being a Hupperdook invention. Tiny glyphs inscribed on a disk holding information for audible minor illusions which can be read and projected when placed in a special device. Some disks might even contain visual information, projecting a series of still images as it plays. However, developing disks and players that can do both at once has so far been held back due to the more expensive enchantments being difficult to market. I really need to play some D&D.

Scientific papers are more forgiving than those if you know the topic.

Sadly, the dancing lights go out every three minutes, instead of every minute, like the spell's duration. That would have been a nice touch.

I specifically listen to Mighty Vibes Vol. 2, 5, and 6 whenever I'm making a new character for a campaign. Nothing like inspirational music from the Nein (and VM), to get some brainstorming going.
This music got me through so many nights of homework, projects, and study sessions through the past year all without breaking down from my anxiety so I thank everyone involved with making this for helping me stay sane!
