This is part 2 of a series :) There's no way I could cram the beginning shot into a 40 minute tutorial in my usual step-by-step fashion, hence why I'm making a whole series on the general process
Amazing video!! Can you create a video where a human subject (you, maybe) moves around in a Blender-created environment? For instance, you create a few trees in blender and you walk around this 'virtual' environment? In front of and around the trees?
Hey Tobias, you are definitely a really good teacher!! Thanks for sharing all these tutorials!! If you don’t mind to explain one thing I didn’t get, I’d appreciate that. How did you set the “concrete” texture just inside the ceiling, and a different texture outside? Thanks man!!
Hi Miguel, no worries, glad you're enjoying my tutorials! I actually just assigned a different material to the faces on the 'inside' of the broken wall. I just did that manually after I broke the object :) I cover how to assign different materials to the same object in this tutorial: ruclips.net/video/Oko7kas-fu4/видео.html
you have such a beautiful tutorials thanks a lot i world love to see more simler tutorials especially with camera 3d tracking via blender or after effects
In terms of what would be great to see next. I’d really like to see how to track movements (a person for example) then attach 3D objects to the person.
That's all on the list for this series :) This is just the first 2 parts. It might take a while to make the others, but it's definitely something I want to do!
Amazing video. Thank you so much. I like to use AE and still have to learn, but also really like Blender. And the combination of two of them is a exactly what I need. Thank you so much. Btw, I really apriciate everything that you do and share with us. I watched your class on Udemy, and it was incredible experience.
The tutorial seems nice but I thought this was going to be about exporting a 3D object from Blender and use it in After Effects. Because the compositing part made in AE can be made in Blender, maybe not as good as AE but still.
It will be great if you could also shows us how to do this on Davinci Resolve Fusion, I have AE but I’m starting to use DRF, I thinks it is a great alternative to AE, actually you could replace the complete Adobe Production Suite with Davinci Resolve, the only thing missing is Photoshop and Ilustrador wich I replaced with Affinity Photo and Designer, anyways great tutorial, I enjoyed every part of it.
Thank you for the feedback :) I personally don't use Fusion, but you can really do the compositing in any video compositing software tool you might have available - the process is pretty much the same, but the individual steps would differ (especially in a node-based compositing tool such as Fusion) :)
Is this pretty typical to ad in the ground cracks like that do other people blend the cracks in and also add in physics destruction? Or does it just really come down to how crazy do you want to get with it? I have seen some other people destroy ground in front of them and the ground would crack and pieces would fly everywhere. I am assuming it is a blend of what you did plus more physics in blender?
Really like what you're doing here - very helpful... but your audience is likely noobs trying to learn and using AE (which is paid sub) - is probably not going to be available to your majority audience at this early point in their learning. Would be awesome if you chose a free AE like software for this 2nd part of the video.
Hi, thx a lot for this tuto. I have a stupid question maybe, but when you're in Blender for a 'simulation' like something fall down, we should make a 'floor'. How can we make it in transparent or hide him for the export? Thx in advance for the answer 😊🙏

Amazing tutorial, thank you! Was the scratch on the top of the monkey's head intentional? If so, how did you do it? It fits in perfectly with the violent drop onto the pavement
Hello Sir! Watching your interesting tutorials in a couple of days ago and found them very well explained. I teach Math, Physics and Chemistry. Any advice on what software to use to produce simulation in these domain so I can show the students the real example or is it possible to do it with Blender as well ?
Thank you for your comment :) Blender has physics and fluids simulations so you can use that. For more complex chemical simulations and interactions I can recommend Houdini - it's much more data and maths driven, more complex, but also more powerful
I'd love to do that eventually, but it's not something you can pull off in a 30 minutes tutorial - at least not well. You need to either do object tracking or motion capture and then you need the 3D skills to create all of the 3d models, animations and realistically composite it all back together :) That's usually done with a big team, lots of time and lots of money - but it's something on my todo list, just not sure when I might get around to doing something along those lines
Superb as usual. Very informative and easy to follow. Quick question if I may. Does C4D lite have limits on the output quality of renders? I’m thinking of learning Blender in full and using it exclusively. I’m just used to using C4D lite but wondering if I’m coming up against limitations because of this.

They might have the info on their website, but I don't think it restricts output quality, just features
Thank you for these two amazing tutorials! Exactly what I needed right now! But I do have a question: In your opening sequence at 0:36 you have rubble going behind the pillar; how do you make something like that happen? Is this something you render in Blender, and have an object obstructing the rubble to simulate the pillar? Or is this something you would do in After Effects?
This series will cover some of the basic 3D + VFX compositing techniques used. Creating effects 'like Hollywood' however for a single person can be difficult unless you have the skills, a team and a large budget as a lot of effects you see in movies are extremely complex to create
.obj files do not contain textures. You need to create (or use) a separate materials file and have the original textures available to make that happen. Check out this post here: blender.stackexchange.com/questions/47915/when-i-save-something-as-an-obj-file-the-texture-does-not-save-with-it-why
Short of getting a graphics card, I am not sure. There is no magic 'work better' switch on Blender unfortunately and the official requirements highly recommend a graphics card: www.blender.org/download/requirements/
Thank you, glad you liked it. You can composite in Blender, but it's limited. I prefer to composite in AE because it's much more powerful (but you can use other programs too)

Man !!! Can you tell me one thing ! I just recently started blender , I was used to with 3ds max , but I haven't any issue with hotkeys but man , why the short cuts haven't have a gizmo !!! It is very irritating ! Isn't it also problematic for blender users too ! Because blender also had gizmo before ( what I saw in your previous blender videos , but I started with 2.8) but blender users are not saying anything about this
No no no no no !!! I am saying about axis gizmo !!! Now in blender I have to press G then X if I want to move it in X Direction , in max if I choose w ( transform) it gives me the axis gizmo , xyz ... , But in blender if want to work with that xyz gizmo , then I have to select it manually from the menu ... But before this 2.8 , if you click G it gave that xyz gizmo , ( if I am not wrong , cause I never used 2.79 , but I watched some video )
A lot of people don't have the patience to learn the techniques, they just want the 'quick show me the buttons I need to press' approach - which isn't really my style :D
Help! I am trying to duplicate the effects found in this MLB video (linked below), where contemporary footage (in color) is blended with vintage footage (black & white). How would I go about putting this together in Mocha Pro? Would the above video help? I'd like to ask or see if there are other videos that might better apply to the effect I'm going for. Check the link below - I'm trying to do this exact effect: ruclips.net/video/VLkcHGQzN0s/видео.html
It's a mix of techniques such as rotoscoping (can do that in Mocha), camera tracking (can do that in mocha or in AE) and compositing (which can be done in AE) :) You need to cut out the player/element you want from the new clip. Then you need to motion track an old video clip that you want to place that player into. Then you need to place the player and composite them into the shot :)

Can you please make a realistic looking car chase animation please 🙏
Not sure I'd have the 3D skills to pull that off
Can I make that in the Vegas pro?
Of course you can :) The compositing can be done in any software tool that does video compositing - Sony Vegas, HitFilm, Fusion, Nuke, etc
@@SurfacedStudio haha ty!
Jusr curious , what loptop do you use for vfx like that?
This is my current main machine: ruclips.net/video/u4nXTOggt_E/видео.html
how do you save it as png sequnce
Set your export options to PNG. If you’re new to Blender check out my beginner tutorial series :)
@@SurfacedStudio thank you
How to tracking 3d object ?
What do you mean?
Is this possible in 2.79
Yes
Why don't you make it a bit advanced by including interactions, simulations etc
Because this is only part 2 of this series

:D
Please use blender video editing instead of AE
Blender is not a great tool for video compositing in my opinion unfortunately - I prefer to use AE :)
Why people think that part 1 is enough for them
Part 2 has less views from the part one 😂😂😂
A lot of people don't have the patience to learn the techniques, they just want the 'quick show me the buttons I need to press' approach - which isn't really my style :D

Help! I am trying to duplicate the effects found in this MLB video (linked below), where contemporary footage (in color) is blended with vintage footage (black & white). How would I go about putting this together in Mocha Pro? Would the above video help? I'd like to ask or see if there are other videos that might better apply to the effect I'm going for. Check the link below - I'm trying to do this exact effect:
ruclips.net/video/VLkcHGQzN0s/видео.html
It's a mix of techniques such as rotoscoping (can do that in Mocha), camera tracking (can do that in mocha or in AE) and compositing (which can be done in AE) :)
You need to cut out the player/element you want from the new clip.
Then you need to motion track an old video clip that you want to place that player into.
Then you need to place the player and composite them into the shot :)
@@SurfacedStudio Thank you so much for the reply - very helpful info. Any video links you could provide that could help with the processes you outlined? Would the above video work?
well... that just happent..
