    Wish I still had my 04 Silverado. My current 2000 Project Truck I'm finding is a expensive pain in the ass when it comes cluster upgrades. Adding the trans temp to my 04 was simple. Doing it with the Air Core Motors in the 2000 and having to re-flash this and that. It's just worth it IMO to spend the money on a 99-02 2500 or Cadillac Cluster with Trans Temp, program current Mileage and then spend even more money to upgrade the face plate and needles. Although I may just go with a double pillar pod move my WB to it and buy an aftermarket trans temp gauge. But that is something I really wanted to avoid doing.

But flat tops are special order and the minimum order keep creeping up. I'd say they are 95% perfect. Better odds than the random stuff on eBay/Amazon, but reasonably priced compared to mouser/digikey/element. The rest of my parts I order from some one that goes by the name Zach (obviously fake name). Chinese vender that approached me at the beginning of the year. • @jeffescortlx

      For 99-02 to add trans temp you'll need to buy a different cluster that has it. I can only add trans to 03-06 clusters.

    Whats the Info "unknown driver"? I often read it in you videos and wonder about this message becau i dont get. Can you have like useraccounts in cars? For what reason?

    • @ChucksBasix
      @ChucksBasix 5 лет назад

      Some fancier cars that have push to start can recognize a driver depending on the "key" that they have with them. This causes the car to auto-adjust everything to match how the driver normally likes it, such as the seats, dimming levels of the gauges/dash, and outside mirrors among other things. Less fancy cars you can press a button to switch between drivers. I imagine the reason a cluster would say "Unknown Driver" is because it's not getting a proper response from the body control module.

    @jeffescortix In this video, you said for the '03 and '04, you just add the Trans Temp stepper motoor and it works, but then I have an '03 Chevy Trailblazer and have been told that it won't work on the Trailblazers as they have no sending unit. Can you confirm this for me?

    • @jeffescortlx
      @jeffescortlx  4 года назад

      For early 03 some have trans unlocked from the factory. But the trail blazer doesn't physically have a location for a transmission temp, so it's physically impossible to add one unless you do some crazy modding.

    • @unclejoe6811

      It's in the trans and you can get the data via obd / bus line but Jeff is correct the trailblazer/envoy/bravada/ascender/ranier/9x clusters never had trans temp fun fact the ss/r uses a stripped down trailblazer cluster.
