Hi all welcome back to another video Dereck Reacts back at it again! This time around we take a look at another 80s must with Tears for Fears and their song "Sowing The Seeds of Love." Roland and Curt come together and deliver a more politically themed song with lots of symbolism in the video. The instrumentation on this is heavy, does it put me over the edge? Find out now!

MASTERPIECE
💯
Absolute masterpiece. HEAD OVER HEELS is another one.
This is a masterpiece ! Their best song probably with this amazing instrumentation !!! Surprised you didn"t approve it.
This song is perfection. Their masterpiece. It’s nice to read other’s comments stating the same. My favorite along with Head Over Heels. Shout I skip every time it does nothing for me. Maybe cuz I heard it so much growing up. But this song and the instrumentals are🔥 👌🏼
*Dereck,*
In this musical abundance, they pay tribute to all the artists who have inspired them (Beatles, Supertramp, Queen, etc.). The game is to find them all along the song.
I love this title ...a must-have.
Peace, folks. ☮🤗
Yes not enough Beatles Paul McCartney etc...
@@magaliedeconto1682 Roger Glover, G. Michael (Wham), and many more.
This song is inspired by The Beatles. One of my favorite Tears for Fears song.
I love Tears for Fears and I love this song. It was a huge hit in the alternative dance clubs. This album, The Seeds of Love, has one of the most sonically beautiful songs ever recorded, Woman in Chains. It's a must hear; I'd suggest you give it a listen.
Often described as the best song the Beatles never wrote. Politician granny was Margaret Thatcher of course…
My absolute favorite one from them, a masterpiece ! I'm obsessed with the change at 6'01, I can listen to that part again and again ^^
I feel the same. :)
Agreed. Epic transition 👌
This is a great song… the masterpiece!!! You can hear it for decades and never get bored…. Pop Art at the top!!!
So many different melodies, submelodies, subtle references of different Beatles songs in roughly 5 minutes. Such a masterpiece. I do approve it!
Veru surprised you didn't approve this one, what's not to like? It's so catchy and creative, with all the different instruments shining! As popular as they were, I still think TFF were underrated...
I suggest their "Pale Shelter" or "Change" next
It's a very big hommage to The Beatles, that's why it's so complexe and seems trippy.
This song and its video is really one their masterpiece.
I think its one of Tears For Fears' best! It gives a lot of Beatles vibes. 1989 was quite a year for artists speaking out on political and social issues in song, with Neil Young's "Rocking In The Free World", Don Henley's " The End Of The Innocence", Phil Collins' "Another Day In Paradise", and Billy Joel's " We Didn't Start The Fire".
How can anyone listen to this song and not have a massive grin on their face.
I have listened to this song over a hundred times (I mean 102 from this past year according to my apple music replay) and it never fails to make me smile. Listening to TFF helps with my depression
Super groupe ! chansons très mélodieuses
This song is ambitious, and so complex even by 80s standards.
Brilliant song and album.
It will grow on you 😂MASTERPIECE
In my top 3 Tears for Fears song. Head Over Heels is the next song you should do ;) Hope someone on your Patreon suggest it.
I love this band!!!
It is a mega masterpiece...and yet he doesnt approve...go figure...lol to each their own I guess...
Je suis bien d accord. Le clip est génial . J adore quand on voit une coquille d ormeau tourné sur lui-même. Une drôle d idée mais bon j adore
The complexity of this song is what makes me love it so much. Every time I discover something new.
Don’t know how anybody can not feel this song. Little disappointed in the lack of approval. Now I hope you can get to Advice for the Young at Heart. Much more straightforward.
I'm surprized. I've seen you approve absolute garbage French 80's songs but you don't stamp this one. I'm sure it deserves more than one listening to digest the complexity of the song. A great song, by far their best work
Lol
Il y a une différence entre aimer une musique et reconnaître sa qualité. On peut aimer de la merde et ne pas aimer une chanson de qualité
This is my favorite song of all time as well as album. Tears for Fears has saved my life and I adore their music. I saw them in concert this past summer and it was one of the best nights of my life. ❤
For me one of the most creative, A pure masterpiece from TFF !!
Beatles style..... beautiful song
Woman in chains is another very best!!!
so inspired by the Beatles
Yes!!!! I was just thinking that!!!!
It was done on purpose by TFF. Inspired by the Beatles and some other bands. They tried to write a song that was a sum of all their musical influences, but still a TFF song.
well, you have to realize how much this song has variety besides of the quality. And so much dynamics and changes. Wow
I'm old enough to remember when this came out and the rumours were this track took months to get how they wanted!
Visual and audial genius!
One of the last songs I remember as the 80’s came to an end - this was released in 1989, when the world was in flux but people had hope for the bright future that was the 90’s. The lyrics and video was inspired by the political climate at the time in the UK. I always see this one and Pet Shop Boys - It’s Alright, released around the same time in 1989, as sister-songs.
Hi Dereck All of Tears for Fears songs are brilliant please check out Woman in chains with Oleta Adam’s one of there best cheers
A masterpiece
Have u not reacted to Tears for Fear Head over Heals? It's definitely the best New wave song ever made. Its also in my top 100 songs of all time.
Absolutely fantastic tune strong message, rebellious, ahead of its time. Video reminds me of Sledgehammer-Peter Gabriel.
Masterpeace!!!!
2:08 Did you spot the typo in the newspaper title... DALIY in place of DAILY (chronicle) ? 8^)
I think this was released in '89 - the 2nd summer of love. Acid and Ecstacy was massive
Punaise c'est une machine à remonter le temps. Je me retrouve dans le bus de retour de l'école à la campagne à regarder le paysage défiler en écoutant cette superbe musique. Excellent morceau. Dommage que Dereck n'approve pas.
Idem merci à Dereck mes années folles nostalgie j'écoute toujours c'est trop bon indémodable 2 grands artistes 2 magnifiques voix suis émue à chaque fois que je l'écoute merci
The UK does not lean right at all - it's our idiotic voting system. The current shambles posing as a government was elected with a "majority" of 80, despite only winning 43.6% of votes. The majority actually voted for left-of-centre parties, and also for parties proposing a second Brexit referendum.
At last...I was wondering when you'd get around to this amazing track/video.
Hi you should react to Patrick Bruel - J'te l'dis quand même (Bruel Tour en France 1990-91) the crowd singing is incredible
If l recall correctly, band members said they recorded it in one take and they just knew it was perfect. And it was. Amazing arrangement..
A classic!
Press dat button!
Love it ❤
Masterpiece
Pour moi, un chef d d'oeuvre cette chanson ...
Très beau clip . Mylène Farmer just released her new clip yesterday, it's superb too.
Tears for Fears is one of my favorite bands of all time. But my favorite song is « Pale Shelter » it’s awsome
Massive tribute to the Beatles!!
Massive influence from the Beatles
Canadian group
The Grapes of Wrath
was said to be Canada's Beatles
Toute la jeunesse en boîte de nuit 😊😊🇫🇷🇫🇷
Idem excellent nostalgie souvenirs inoubliable indémodable phénomènal
Parts of this song have a "The Beatles" feel to it, to me.
On fragment 1:44 the all-seeing eye. Worship of the damned Illuminati?
🎶Recommendation: ruclips.net/video/7ip8ZVyF_ac/видео.html Fascination Street by The Cure. The beginning with the bass is my favorite part:). I just discovered your channel, and I’m so glad to see the range! A lot of reactors don’t aim for a range of genres and sub-genres and cultures. They seem to only go by whatever’s getting the most requests at that time, which turns up meaning a whole lot of incredible music not getting heard, just because it didn’t get played on the radio, or didn’t get played across enough stations.
Please react to the music video the Spice Girls released for the single that never was, the fabulous “Never Give up on the Good Times”, in tribute to their second album Spiceworld turning 25 years since its release.
They ate beetles before recording
REACT TO ADVICE FOR THE YOUNG AT HEART
GLOW..Kylie..please!! You will not regret it
Reminds me of the beatles imo
I love your musical hubris and it would be nice to know you.
Please listen to Woman in Chains on the same album.
dereck, could you react on the song "Vladimir Ilich" , a song of Michel Sardou ????? please
There’s a difference between not ‘approving’ and not being “fond of”, which is what he says. He still appreciates it too. I’ve always loved Most of the song, but the chorus is too cheesy for me personally:), even tho’ I agree with the belief in “sowing the seeds of love”. Edit-note that at the end when he uses the word approve, he says it for His listening. I think he said casual listening.
But he didn't give his approval as he usually does, with all the fanfare. That's what people are saying.
@@sexysadie2901 I see, well, in one sense that’s a good sign though. You wouldn’t want him to be fake just to please some of his viewers. Like I said, I’m not big on the song either because it’s a little too cheesy for me lyrically:). It is really impressive otherwise though.

Hi derek can you put the subtitle?
Can you play any instruments? I can play the comb and tissue paper!!
You can brush your hair and wipe your arse?!
Wow, not impressed ay? Well, music is a very personal thing.. different people appreciate different music. Your review/reaction was overly simplistic. I think the message was lost on you. And that’s okay. Just not your cup of tea.
Great your video 👍, you should do one on Jean batiste guégan, he's Jonny Hallyday's vocal double, he has a title called "Nashville" and it's just amazing.
Cela serait intéressant de voir Georges Moustaki - Le Métèque (Audio Officiel) grand succès dans le monde entier
