    Which one of landmarks that Buugeene (with a silent 'B') visited would you like to see or have you already visited?

      The story of Buugeene's travels was a great way to illustrate the concept of repeated cuts. Well done! I think it would make a great short video...

      @@fortheloveofpuzzles That is awesome. You could make a series of RUclips shorts and have him visit new landmarks on every new section you build as well. I wouldn't be surprised if it brings a lot of new viewers to your channel. By the way, congratulations on reaching 2K subscribers! 🎉

    I was so sure that the turtle was some sort of "easter egg", i.e. you wanted us to find it in the timelapse and to have fun watching its path. That it had a purpose for the solving process was a complete surprise to me. :-)

    What a great video series! I watched someone else work on this puzzle and I was thinking that while I would like to conquer a giant puzzle at some point in the future, I probably wouldn't be able to appreciate this motive, because I don't know many of the places on it, so I really appreciate your voice overs! I also appreciate that you don't just do the super simple tourist friendly version, but also highlight potential issues in the history.

    Really enjoying watching you put this puzzle together, can’t wait to see it completed.
    I have this puzzle but because I have no room and would need to complete it on the floor I have not started it. I did the Educa World Map 4000 piece on the floor and it was so awkward and painful.
    That puzzle had so many false fits too. The edge pieces and the connected pieces had a border that was bright in places and then dull and as I completed the jigsaw I realised it all looked wrong. I was swapping pieces around but it never looked quite right. I also noticed tons of false fits after I had completed it and spent hours rearranging the puzzle.
    That was my first Educa puzzle and I honestly think Ravensburger do a much better job with their puzzles. The pieces are a lot more unique.
    Sorry for the long post and thank you for the tips when I do start it!

      I can't imagine puzzling on the floor - that would be quite tough on the back! I found leaning over doing this puzzle difficult at times even. I know!! Perfect false fits are the worse!! I hate that this happened to you with that puzzle - ugh!!! I really should have done a smaller Educa puzzle first before buying this big one. I don't think I would have ended up buying it. I will get back to it soon and crack open the third bag...I may just have gotten a little sidetracked for a bit ;) 💜🧩

    1. I did not know there are over 1000 moai! 2. I like your black/white board idea. Did that come in handy in Spain? 3. I have been to Rio and Niteroi! That is such a beautiful city. 4. OMG the false fits are a nightmare!!

    Wuuaaaooouuu incredible, your work is looking beautiful, I understand the thousands of hours you invest in this, ... but what about the rest of the bags? By the time you upload them, they are not on your RUclips channel!!! Thank you, your work is beautiful. Greetings from Tijuana-Mexico...😮😮😮😮😮😮

      The last video in the series was posted and has written “I’m Done” on the thumbnail. I just couldn’t continue on with this puzzle - I was not enjoying the pixelated imagery, the crumbliness of the pieces, the non-fully locking pieces… I love the image overall and I love big puzzles, but this was no longer fun for me. So I did not complete it after the first two bags. I am currently working on a beautiful 5k puzzle and have a 13,200 and a 18k waiting for me which will be so much more fun. 💜🧩

    It's nice to know my guess about the cut pattern was correct. As fas as I know most large puzzles suffer from the same issue. I did a 5000 piece Ravensburger the other day and it was divided into four cuts with the bottom two cuts rotated 180 degrees compared to the top two. This one also had a few areas that were almost identical and I had compare the pieces closely to see which ones were correct.
    Funny thing, I had been doing your turtle trick but mine was with a small Apple remote as a marker. I'll have to come up with something more imaginative. 🤔I also had the same idea with storing my Ravensburger puzzle in four separate bags, one for each cut, even though it came as a single bag so I won't have to deal with this issue again. As you said in a previous reply, great minds think alike!

    • @fortheloveofpuzzles
      @fortheloveofpuzzles  Год назад +1

      And once you see the cut pattern, you cannot unsee it which does make things easier as you progress through the sections. My little turtle head was very helpful. You need something cuter than a remote that's for sure. Great minds club! hehehehe 💜🧩

      I do feel that I am not as invested in this puzzle or this image - sadly... And I guess that comes across on camera. I really truly loved the Grafika puzzle so much and I did enjoy learning about the art and artist a lot. I'm hoping these next sections of the Educa puzzle are more inspiring as I won't know as much already about all the landmarks and buildings. Little inside info - I was so bummed with all the perfect false fits that I reached out to Grafika for any updates on their next epic puzzle - no news to share just yet, still several months before they will have an update. I was hoping to have news to lift up my puzzling spirits. 💜🧩

    Nice progress! I'm curious as to how you are storing the sections when you are done. I suppose you are taping them? But how do you flip them over since it's a crumbly puzzle?

    • @fortheloveofpuzzles
      @fortheloveofpuzzles  Год назад +3

      I'm actually not flipping them, not taping them. On the table, there are actually 2 boards next to one another. I divide the puzzle in two and slide one half onto one board. Then I just store them on the floor in my spare room on top of one another. I also have a board on the top one so it doesn't get faded from sunlight or dust on it. @vickymakesandbuilds recently did a video about how she is flipping and taping her big Educa puzzle - you may want to watch it. 💜🧩

    Wow. Another colossal undertaking. Only a perfectionist and stickler for detail could complete these puzzles. Listening to your stream of consciousness actually tires me out ! Specifically all that banter about 37 x 27 sections with potential false fits and all those permutations. But thank you for the entertainment. Just watched this video and wanted to givr you an update on why the 6000 piece bag is actually a true 6000 pieces. 37 x 27 piece sunsection does equal 999 pieces; however, you will notice that in each 999 subsection of the puzzle there are actually two half pieces that make the 1000th piece. Those pieces are wonky and wavy on one side. You showed a close up shot of them in a previous video. So, the true piece count really is 42,000 pieces.

    • @fortheloveofpuzzles
      @fortheloveofpuzzles  Год назад +1

      Well call me monkeybutts! Are you serious?! Okay, thank you for pointing this out to me. I will investigate further - and count - and can make a correction/update when I open the next bag. I never even thought about those small wonky pieces and that row would have an extra piece - makes sense though. 💜🧩
