And I currently work in the mines and yeah its dangerous and im well underpaid, but i chose to do this and now im chosing to look for other areas to better my life. Also, the problem i have with cops is that, when they mess up they seem to get off the hook easily and may get dismissed from the dept, but can go to another dept and do it again. Also, they also need to be accountable for their actions and not just be above the law at times. Speaking from incidents in Colorado btw.

I do feel bad for the PTSD that they have to put up with, HOWEVER they bust innocent people and let the bad guy go way too often for me to trust or respect them. I actually blame the brass infinitely more than I blame the foot soldier but either way I don't want to fall victim to it. I think most cops would rather make a federal case out of nothing against some normie, than actually go toe to toe with real bad guys. Again, I blame the brass for that but even still, as a normie, I know they aren't going to give me a wide birth like they do the career criminals, but they will bust me for failure to I.D. even though the 4th amendment says I don't have to I.D. without committing a crime first.
@@aislcsales Chris Rock once said that only women and children and pets get unconditional love. Men only get love (and respect) if they do their job and additionally they do it right. Only women and children get consolation prizes for just showing up and trying. Right now and for the past 4 years the cops have not been protecting us, but instead the interests of the deep state. A cops now a days is more interested in busting you for failure to id, even though that's not a primary crime, than they are in busting you for theft or murder. I don't blame the foot soldier, I blame the brass. But even still, all these foot soldiers keep on following these unconstitutional and illegal orders........I blame them less, but what am I supposed to think of them, really. I got a lot of cops in my family. You wanna know what all the old guys brag about? Bagging serious felons. You wanna know what all the young cops brag about? Not taking any crap from uppity citizens. And what constitutes an "uppity" citizen? One who asserts their 4th, 5th or 6th amendment rights. George Soros and Clous Schwab bribed all your bosses to order you guys to abandon your post as our protectors and assume the role of our controller and tormentor, and you guys followed those orders. Jordan Peterson talks about how the first group of Natzis were police. Good police, not ones with records for being cowboys or anything. But within 6 months they were "taking naked pregnant women out into fields and shooting them in the back of the head." Jordan said that the problem was not that the police were monsters, but that they felt more disloyal and honorable by not following orders, than following them, even though they were all disturbed as crap for doing it. My point is that cops are order takers. If their orders are honorable, then the cops look honorable. If the orders are dishonorable and illegal and unconstitutional.........well, they follow those orders as well. I have high hopes for the police with Trump at the helm. I didn't feel this way or research all this stuff before the Biden administration. I really hope that Trump grants the police the tools and power they need to serve and protect and I also hope just as much that he removes the unconstitutional crap that has arrived in the past 4 years that only helps a cop to harass and collect.
@lrogers7501 No, once they have PTSD everything enrages them. Cops assault people over nothing issues constantly. It's because they keep on rehiring cops who got fired for loosing their cool. I blame the brass more than I blame the foot soldiers but I'm still afraid of all of them, but not because I break the law, it's because they do.
The main thing that happened to me while on the job is loss of trust in humanity. Made me realize how sick this world is but it also inspired me to be closer to God
Imagine that you're not a criminal, and you know the police exist to keep the peace vs. arresting people for profit and possible job promotions down the line? How much better is your attitude when you encounter them? People rarely get to talk about how many times they've Bern beaten in jail cells, had personal property stolen, and down right treated with total disrespect. It's a two street, and both the public and police departments who care need to rethink the policing of our communities. Career criminals have no say-so.
@Mark-r2z9u so did you just like to assume the original commenter is a criminal? Because cops cause more problems than they solve for everyone. Not just criminals but normal citizens too. Cops are supposed to uphold the law. And yet they only need a grade 12 education and 3 months of academy. While a lawyer needs years of university. Police need to go back to what they were in the 1800s volunteers.
There have been plenty of reform in the past 5 years and they only led to more crime and more shootings and violence against the police. The citizens and the population has to take a good hard look at them selves before they point their fingers at the cops
Are there not bad people in any profession? The point is being a LEO is unlike any other job. It’s the only career where a large swath of people hate you, they cheer for your death and demise. Police should only be serving and protecting ppl, not being revenue collectors for gogt or arresting ppl for victimless crimes. Dunno if lots of that goes on over in the US but here in New Zealand the cops are freakin awful
Example. A speed limit is required for the safety of the surrounding population. Falling outside of this speed limit needs to be met with a consequence to lower the chances of the person committing again. Which for the majority will actually stop until a long time after. What are good consequences that should be given for such actions? Well people don’t like paying big fines. It sucks but it works. And why not allow this amount to go to the city? You really don’t know where this money is going. It could be going to the judges paycheck, fleet maintenance for patrol vehicle, the street you drive on. Etc. and it’s way too expensive to create a new branch of jobs that would enforce this so cops don’t have to. Cops have the jurisdiction, tools, budget and training to do so.
Big difference, liquor store clerks work in a familiar environment everyday. They're not out pulling people over in different areas, going into buildings and houses they've never been in and not knowing who's there, what corner they're hiding behind, what kind of weapons they have, what their intentions are. At least a clerk can see who's coming through the front door.
Police are just enforcers for the state. They have no requirement to help anyone specifically (Castle Rock vs Gonzalez, Warren vs DC). The job they have, although dangerous, is to enforce the law even if it's against the citizens best interest. No matter how ridiculous or absurd the law is (COVID lockdowns as an example or front license plate laws), they're still expected to enforce it. Not every officer is trying to do wrong, but there's no attempt being made to correct misconduct/abuse. Instead of seems like they just make excuses and try to cover things rather than fix themselves. PTSD is a major problem, and we can only hope they get the help they need. But blindly respecting/supporting police is, IMO stupid, especially since it isn't their job to support us.
It isnt even as dangerous as being a friggen roofer. It isnt a dangerous job. They injure themselves "in the line of duty" in the vast majority of cases if you actually look at the claims. Any time they fall down chasing a suspect it gets counted like they were attacked.
You are wrong. Most, if not all agencies have policies that state that you will protect life. So you are obligated to protect life or you can be charged with dereliction of duty.
@MySpitts Policies are not laws... The courts have said police aren't responsible for public safety... You can still be fired. And social media most likely will lead to backlash, but technically they are not supposed to be charged
@@MySpitts no you can be let go if its determined by an iinternal investigation whether or not that is the best course of action. They face no LEGAL charges, and realistically arent going to lose their job either because they investigate themselves.

Joe hit the nail on the head. My 2 sons are police officers in CA and when the DA won’t prosecute, many times unless it’s a serious crime they won’t stop a car because every stop can turn deadly in a heartbeat. DA Hockman is going to bring change.
Maybe they should worry about actual crimes then instead of constantly harassing motorists until they run into the wrong guy just having a bad day that literally cannot afford a ticket.
@@raphaelvermin Most people with warrants are found when a cop pulls them over for a minor traffic infraction. Evidently, you’d rather have everyone with a warrant stay on the street committing more crimes. Try educating yourself before you comment next time.
With all due respect to you and your sons, sir, you have to understand that to the rest of the world, it just sounds like you're saying that people who become cops don't have the option to simply do something else. Yes, it's a dangerous job. Consider another one. OR better, look honestly at the role that cops themselves play in making their jobs dangerous. And no, when cops bring charges that won't hold in court, the DA isn't going to pursue it. But what is the lesson? That the DA should prosecute even when there isn't a case to be made in court because, all too often, cops make arrests that should never have been made? Or is the lesson that your sons and cops like them should make better cases, should respect and uphold the constitution more vigorously, and take their pledge to protect and serve more seriously than their fidelity to the sacred blue line? You decide. This pitty party for cops is pathologically near-sighted and confused.

I honestly can't support officers today because most have been harrasing the public the past 30 with revenue generation. I also can't support cops today due to what they did during covid.... they chose their paychecks over our liberties 🗽 and rights. I also do not like most cops views on our 2nd Amendment rights. (Which Protects me and my family when cops decide policy trumps Freedom) A lot of them took an outh to the constitution, not to policy or feelings enforcement.

Plenty of jobs such as construction ( these blue collar guys deserve way more respect) are more dangerous but there is a difference between an accident that leads to a death and going to work knowing that another human might decide to take your life that weighs on a human mind differently. Also that long list Joe raddled off about what we see on a day to day basis unless you are a first responder you have no idea. It also doesn’t help that the media and politicians have convinced the public that the cops are the bad guys and criminals are victims. There is a reason why no one wants to serve their communities any more.
@trent1615 there were 2,000 applicants to Seattle PD last year. It's on par with being a rideshare driver in terms of danger, rideshare drivers get murdered every day
We don't. Thanks very much. There isn't a single event that could occur in my life--be that to protect my girlfriend or child--for which I would call the police. They,. Do. Not. Help. Sorry to spoil that for you. I would NEVER count on some high school dropout to come to my home or business and arbitrate a life and death situation.
Agreed. When seconds count police are minutes away. If you experience a home invasion you would long be dead before the police could help you. Arm yourself, be independent, strong, and most importantly do not be a bootlicker for the government.
Watch police body cam videos on RUclips. It is really eye opening and disturbing to see what kinds of dangerous situations LEO encounter. The worst possible people most of the time. Police need way more pay, and way more respect. The public needs to appreciate what police encounter on a daily basis. And no matter how professional, there’s always some parent or friend or sibling trash talking the police when they arrive. More protection for the police and more understanding from law makers who need to watch the police cams…Watch many, not just one.
Search RUclips for "first amendment audits" ... What you'll find is literally an endless stream of moronic police violating people's rights, and violating their oath to the constitution. Hey Rogan, how about the families of innocent, unarmed people who get killed by cops? Do you think the families can unsee that? And just so you know, as far as being dangerous, law enforcement isn't even a top ten dangerous occupation. Most cops that get killed while on duty are due to traffic accidents (usually cause by themselves) or suicide. If any cop is suffering from PTSD, he/she needs to be responsible and quit before they flip out and cause the death of someone else. But no one want to criticize the poor misunderstood cops.

My son is a Texas State Trooper. I've seen bodycam footage from some of his arrests. Criminals running, fighting back, etc. I get a little defensive when I hear people crap on the police.
A lot less people would criticize police if they didn’t lie and abuse their authority, and if they proactively respected our rights rather than trying to circumvent them. Personally, I respect police for the job they do, but not for who they are. For the reasons mentioned, there are more bad apples than good.
Well, then you should become involved in reforming the profession. Cops abuse their authority EVERY SINGLE DAY, all day long; they trample on the constitution; violating the civil rights of the people they swore an oath to protect and serve is like ordering a cup of coffee. Maybe your son isn't one of those who make the profession look bad; but he looks bad because of those who do. Rogan is an imbecile on this topic. "Cops are lied to all day long?" They lie all day long; it's literally part of the training. People who work at 7-11 have a far greater chance of being gunned down than a cop and make far less than 70,000 a year. Being a cop isn't as dangerous as cops make it out to be.
Hey bro policing isnt even one of the most dangerous jobs in the country. Literally every day laborer job has a higher risk of injury, and all cause mortality than police work. I am more likely to die to a renter in an Air BNB at one of the many properties i service than a police officer is to fall in the line of duty. Roofers are far more likely to fall off of a ladder and end up six feet down than any police unit at any agency in the country. Police only have a job as dangerous as THEY force a situation to be ever since the SC ruled that they have no duty to put themselves in the line of danger to save somebody else. Being a police officer is one of the safest and most job secure positions you can work. The job is so easy that most of them get fat.
@ You made some over-generalizations. I never said it was the most dangerous job, however it is a job that paints a target on your back everytime you have an encounter with a public. I had a video that just popped up on my feed where an officer was killed in cold-blood for trying to provide assistance to someone who needed help with a flat tire. The perpetrator took his cop car and sped away. The cops mistake was letting his guard down

I support our men and women in blue, they’re essential for a civilized society, but we should not worship the police either. While it’s true that police work is dangerous, it doesn’t make the top ten most dangerous jobs in the US. The one thing police, police unions and police departments can do to fully regain the public trust and respect is not protect the bad apples within the department.
You have to understand that 1] they're understaffed and have trouble hiring and 2] putting pressure on their own not only exacerbates the problem but also puts themselves at risk of undue scrutiny. You'll just end up like SF where cops don't even respond to theft and the like because they'll just end up with allegations of racism and have yo deal with internal issues.

Wtf u taking about? 20 years experience here, how about you?
Bruh you know the judge decides to let criminals go.... right?😂
@lrogers7501 No, once they have PTSD everything enrages them. Cops assault people over nothing issues constantly. It's because they keep on rehiring cops who got fired for loosing their cool. I blame the brass more than I blame the foot soldiers but I'm still afraid of all of them, but not because I break the law, it's because they do.
Name one time you saw a cop bust an innocent person and let a bad guy go free....
The main thing that happened to me while on the job is loss of trust in humanity. Made me realize how sick this world is but it also inspired me to be closer to God
Police need reform thats the serious discussion to be had by constitution/bill of rights loving citizens.
Is it more dangerous than working at a Liquor store on the corner in the hood?
Big difference, liquor store clerks work in a familiar environment everyday. They're not out pulling people over in different areas, going into buildings and houses they've never been in and not knowing who's there, what corner they're hiding behind, what kind of weapons they have, what their intentions are. Statistically, policing is one of the safest jobs around. Unlike logger, trucker, etc

A police officer’s job is highly under-appreciated. Imagine getting a starting salary of $70,000 a yr (some places even less) and part of your job description is potentially being gunned down any given work day.

@@raphaelvermin Oh look, you're also regurgitating these false stats and claims that come from the internet. You're not good at this.

The dangers of being a victim of police brutality for being a pot smoker in the 90s and 00s
I don't give a damn about cops. Don't care.
If someone breaks into your house or assault you in the face, guarantee you’re calling them for help. Prove me wrong with your words 😃
@@izzybizzy9589If someone breaks into your house the cops are twenty minutes away. Same with somebody assaulting you or robbing you. It’s on you to defend yourself. Sure they might catch the person down the line, but what’s done is done. Just playing devils advocate I suppose, but police don’t have a constitutional obligation to protect a citizen from harm. Ruled on by the supreme court.
And guess what. Normal people don’t care for criminals.
why don’t they just quit?
@ This is an excuse not a solution. We, the public, need to demand solutions not excuses. And this starts with our politicians who are to eager to please Police Unions.
@@mysterioanonymous3206they have to prove themselves legitimate or else we can assume they're corrupt.
Most people don't wosrship tho, just showing support or understanding will get labeled "bootlicker" by people who are cowards who criticize but don't bring any change just because it's 'cool'😂
Being a police officer is not that dangerous of a job.
Boo hoo
How is it that officers fault. He was just doing his job and unfortunately there were some casualties. It happens all the time in war.
Wouldn't trade responding to police calls for anything in the world. Some people love it. Some people hate it.
you like killing people? flashbanging baby cribs? running drugs? ruining lives? planting drugs? YOU are the enemy

Road pirates.
It’s only the usual suspects that never wanna comply with the most simplest police commands that always escalate the situation. I know I’m about to get a bunch of hurt inmate-lovers or soap dropping ex-cons by getting offended by my comment but it’s the truth 🤷🏽♂️
If it's not a lawful command don't follow, cops are always fishing for shit instead of writing out your ticket and sending you on your way. Can you not see why that's a problem.
@@JoshStinson-e9jyeah like why don’t I want you to search my car if I have nothing to hide? Why do you need to search my car if there’s nothing in it.
@@B_Man_13 they took an oath to uphold the constitution, yet they're constantly violating it if they think it will lead to an arrest, you let them search your vehicle you think it stops there? They find nothing so they have to create something, My brother is a cop, and to put it in perspective, why do you think people are so easily irritated by cops. Because policing practices are biased, the arrest don't actually reflect crime going on in the streets, you're a bootlicker dude.

Deadly job
Not worth it
Don't be a cop. We don't need you.
I believe it's more dangerous for the citizens when police make contact. End Qualified Immunity!
an arborist has a more dangerous job....not to mention garbage men, iron workers, an several dozen other professions......those officers that ABUSE THEIR AUTHORITY are the ENEMY, make no mistake!

OK criminal
Can you name another job that every day citizens have, where a real hazard for their job is being murdered, simply because of what their job title is?
Sorry, but garbage men, line men, construction workers, etc. are not being murdered on the job because of what they do for work.
@@heyitsfridayyywhat's the argument other than saying your stupid? A smart individual who have an debate over it just not say wrong
I get it. It can be a hard job.
But...Being a cop does not crack the top 25 most dangerous jobs. And most of the jobs that are more dangerous dont have the benefits, retirement, qualified immunity, or fan club that LE does.
Body cams are just showing us what people have been saying for years. LE, not always, but often enough, abuses the power.
What a joke. It takes 6 months to get a gun and badge.
It takes a lot longer than that. Academy alone is usually 6 months. There’s a whole lot more to go through. It is a long, thorough, arduous process.
@ how long could it be when u can drop outta high school to join?
Thank blm for that lmao
