Before watching the video: It’s always a good thing to be cautious. Blind worship does not help anything improve. With that said I'm glad this is turning out way better than I expected.
Yea, a little cautionary tale, i bough deep rock galactic bacose i herd only good things about it, and well ... it didnt turn out as i expected, and i figured out horde games arent really my thing like all those people led me to belive, if you see a game getting prase and only prase, and helpful criticism is getting a lot of hate, stay the fuck away
This game is what happens when the spirit of smash bros and normal fighting games collide. More room for shenanigans this was with a high ceiling and low floor. Perfect balance
I personally thought the whole 'choose your own rank' thing was a really great idea. It eliminates the 'salt' factor when placing because now you can just tell everyone how good you think you are, and the matchmaking will sort the rest out over time. Normally in a game I would probably feel salty if I got placed in bronze or silver but giving the choice I actually chose to start lower and work my way up for some reason. It surprised even me. I suppose having really good players smurf low tiers could be bad but it's not like they can smurf there for long without ranking up so I don't really see it as a problem.
best part the rollback is god like normally I have a handfull laggy matches with a few disconnect but now 95% of the matches are smooth I don't know what dark magic they used
I don't have a lot of experience with fighting games, but I really enjoyed the look of this one and decided to pick it up. As someone who would be considered casual, I'm really happy with how understandable this fighter is. Definitely a fun game!
That's great to hear! As someome who has played fighters for a long time I often wonder how new games are recieved by total newcomers. I hope this game reaches a new audience for FG and grows the world's love of fighting.
This game is amazing. I love playing it, and its especially fun to play with friends. The lower barrier of entry for each character allows for an easy shift over to new characters and archetypes that you may not be familiar with. But the characters still have combos and unique aspects to make them feel unique and interesting. Plus, the high damage allows for awesomely damaging combos and hype comebacks. I'm extremely glad that I bought this game, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone, including those who may not have the most experience with fighting games. I think this could be a good starting point for many people.
I'm definitely more on the smash bro's side of things when it comes to fighting games, I've always struggled with motion inputs but genuinely don't like things like auto combo's in dbfz or the stylish mode in other games. I think DNF Duel really nailed a sweet spot for simplicity without making things overwhelming. The biggest thing the game has going against it I think is the license, DFO is huge in places like Korea, but in the west its practically unknown. Take DNF Duel, and replace it with like, Naruto characters, and you've got an omega smash hit on your hands. Loving the game though, having more fun than most fighting games I've played.
So the freezing thing in training mode wasn't just me. Good to know. Also, the button being referred to as a "special" button is really just heavy normals.
I’m absolutely in love with this game! On the ranked front though, as someone who is utter trash trying to work my way out of bronze, there are definitely some people that put themselves at beginner who are absolutely not 😂
I apologize, I know that I’m technically, probably, intermediate at minimum, but choosing to start anywhere except the bottom felt too prideful when the game put me on the spot like that. Just made it to silver at least so I’m putting in some distance.
I feel like most people put themselves at beginner regardless because the game is so nutty that even legit novices can blow you up until you get used to the character specific mechanics and gameplans. Or they start at beginner before leveling up in casual and stomping their way through diamond
@@peaceribbon8322 Don’t get me wrong, I would have probably done the same, it feels right to work up from the bottom to me, I’m not mad about it! Great video bro! I'm currently addicted to this game and in the middle of Diamond. I see alot of complainers online but the ranking system has worked great for me and the characters are all extremely powerful but I have yet to face anything that felt unfun and uninteractive. As a former marvel player I don't mind being stuck in long combos or blockstrings (patience, children). Pulling off combos in this game is more satisfying than any game since mvc infinite. If you use the game mechanics properly you can counter most things in this game. I love Strive but idk if it's a honeymoon phase or what but I haven't felt like playing it since this game dropped. Just straight up feels more fun and interesting
I know I'm a bit late, but I really really love this game, and I'm glad you do to. I'm a big fan of Dungeon FIghter, so I was really hyped from the day they announced it, and I'm so happy they kept the feel of the game so similar to the original, even in a completely different game genre (to be fair the leap wasn't so great, but they still pulled it off really well). I also love how easy to get started it is, I'm a big fighting game noob, having mostly played platform fighters but very few regular ones, and I still managed to play the game well enough, since I could stop worrying about not fumbling the motion imputs and instead focus on actually playing. Hell, I even won a few matches against people who were much better than me, so this is definetly a noob-friendly game, but the ceiling is also very high. I really hope people stay around for a long time in this one, because I certainly will! As for characters, they sadly didn't include my main F Spitfire, but hey, I also play a whole bunch of Dragon Knight, and guess who's here? Speaking of Dragon Knight, I feel like NeoPle have made some Astra (the dragon buddy) plushies already, but I'm not actually sure... If they haven't, they should!
If I have to say I'd like one thing with the gameplay, it's that I'd like a defensive mechanic in the air. Even if it's not an air block which would probably change the game too much, some sort of parry would be appreciated, or even just a universal quick-land or divekick for each character to change their trajectory... Jumping is just far too weak with one-button-DPs to contest with. For example, maybe Guard+Down makes you do an "air-roll" downwards back to the ground (with Guard+Left/Right making you go at an angle back to the ground), with the normal roll lag at the end so it's still baitable... Or maybe give raw conversions in the air a small amount of invincibility meaning you have to sacrifice some health to get your air-parry... etc.
I just couldnt get into it. About characters im opposite of what you said. I love everyone in strive and want to try most of them, here none of the chars pull me like Nago did at the strive launch. Maybe i try later again but im not sure
Can’t say I’m gonna be able to formulate a comprehensible strategy against anyone except my siblings (who are notably poorer at fighting games than me) but this is definitely a game I’ll play with family and friends, since it finally doesn’t require those silly wrist-breaking motion inputs.

Geeko: That is a child.... WTF?!? Me: Well since this anime... Either a short woman, 1,000 year old vampire, or an actual child with the destructive power of a nuke on steroids. Pick your poison.
I hope they add a feature where u can switch off simple imputs for Mp skills cause i cannot stand trying to do 236 mp or 214 mp and getting the simple motion for dp because i pressed it to fast it feels weird like idk if its me fucking up or just the game and all it makes me wanna do is what mk has which is turn on normal fighting games imputs yes dp is gonna be harder to do but id rather learning that the harder way than dropping combos cause I wanted meter back faster🥴🥴
Go into practice, have fun, go to story mode, realize you can't skip or pause or quit, wondering what is going on, grab water, see it's still going, force shut the game, play something else. This was my experience.
I recently decided to pick up SFV after its sitting on my shelf for several years to learn fighting games. Your channel has been a major tool of leaning for me. I have been playing around with several characters, one of whom is R. Mika. After seeing Grappler in action, he sort of reminded me of her. Would you say that they fit the archetype of a “quick” grappler, or am I misunderstanding their play style?
Lobby functionality heavily varies by platform. On console, I can only connect to lobbies maybe 10% of the time, and then half the people in lobbies are invisible and it won't let me queue with them on a cabinet.
if you like this grappler here are some you may like: Alex, r.mika, laura, really any fast small grappler.... that said this game doesn't have a big body grappler, and yes there is a difference between the two.
I’m having an issue on pc where it’s impossible to rematch. Other than that the game is good. If anyone has advice on how to fix the rematch issues please let me know.
I mean yeah it's good if you like 30 second long blockstrings and even longer combos. seriously I could read Sun Tzu's Art of War while waiting for my turn
The lack of placement matches was a real issue for the game’s community, at least of Reddit. It’s a lot easier for scrubs to call it “smurfing” when there was theoretically a choice… even if the choice is given no context. I feel like it made at least that part of the community much more toxic than it needed to be.
This game let me down. The lack of mobility makes it feel like Street Fighter, but the combos and rediculous buttons feel like an anime fighter, and it just turned me off. Imagine if you couldn't air dash or air block VS Happy Chaos in GGST. Yeah, that's DNF duel.
Yeah the game is very much when you are playing offense its great, when you have to play defence all the fun immediately gets removed as you get put into 28 second block strings ((looking at you striker))
Fighting games of all types are that constantly Rushdown Revolt you can die by any one three times in less then a 40 seconds without letting you hit them once if your bad enough
Dnf duel is a breath of fresh air this is definitely a fighting game we needed. The fun factor is high with this tons of characters that are all fun and strong. Great net code super quick to find matches. Amazing combo tutorials for every characters it also has all the single player stuff you expect. In my opinion this is a complete fighting game and more than worth it.
Yeeaaah idk. I'll still wait more before getting this game. I'm not convinced about this game. I still feel like it's kinda shallow and not that fun to play. I'll see what people come up with.
Idk if they already removed this but ima hold off on getting the game until i know the crusader easy as hell to pull off infinite is removed im not bouta pay 60 dollars to play mvc
This game is really fun. Has a lot of fun stuff to do and theres not much depth you need to get into it. I can definately say tho this game as smooth as it feels, is kinda rough on the edges imo. My biggest no is that even tho theres a block button and you can hold back to block, The mapping feels very uncomfortable somewhat 9/10 game tho imo
Customs in Rushdown Revolt can be 3V3 with the ability to tweak the values of all the moves its such chaos when you don't feel like sweating Loedout mode is scary
I was planning to buy steam version of it but i heard some nasty things about this game like bugs, crashing problems, some balance problems etc etc. Should i buy it now or after the patches?
I understand the hate for Ranger, but not because of a player, no, the fucking AI. You have to cheese it with air attacks, which also seems like a good way to deal with any Ranger.
When I first got Strive I didn't know anything about the lore so nobody stuck to me and I had a character crisis, now I'm in another character crisis because everyone's so *fucking* cool (Apart from Nago, I hate Nago players and have vowed to never become one)
Don't really think the scout's honor system of placing yourself in a rank is all that bad. The game will demote you accordingly, and you do get demoted quite fast if you aren't "there".
I'd be enjoying this game a lot more if it wasn't for the fact that I cannot rematch in ranked because of a day-1 bug And a couple of weeks later, it still hasn't been fixed :')
Unfortunately almost half the cast feel like zoners with ther enormous nomals and special moves. That's honestly my only problem. Also ghost blade and crusader are the glue eaters of this game for sure. Ghost blades normals and special moves are enormous and all thr visual noise the ghost puts on screen is extremely annoying, it svery easy to loose track of what's going on sometimes. Then crusader is just....yeah crusader.
Honestly, DNF duel gets tiresome fast imo. I don't know, it feels like a crazy team fighting game only with single fighters and that's kinda boring to me.
Zoners are lame but this game has brainwashed me into thinking that Ranger is one of the sickest fighting game characters ever. Maybe it’s just his design and moveset that just make me think this dude is dope as hell. But Launcher is lame and annoying she can rot in Zoner hell for all I care
You cant make a top tier last when everyone is Top Tier.... in this game have the oposide problem that GGs instant of my character is honest is my character is more op than your haha

I'm not convinced about this game. I still feel like it's kinda shallow and not that fun to play.
I'll see what people come up with.
If I wasn't broke
So fun!
My biggest no is that even tho theres a block button and you can hold back to block, The mapping feels very uncomfortable somewhat
9/10 game tho imo
"It is a 2v2 1v1 fighting game"
bruh wat
Customs in
Rushdown Revolt can be 3V3 with the ability to tweak the values of all the moves
its such chaos when you don't feel like sweating Loedout mode is scary
I was planning to buy steam version of it but i heard some nasty things about this game like bugs, crashing problems, some balance problems etc etc. Should i buy it now or after the patches?
the game is pretty wild but i did not experience any bugs tbh.
I feel like I was /very/ wrong about this game, my first impression has been totally wrong and my experience and opinions are regularly evolving
I understand the hate for Ranger, but not because of a player, no, the fucking AI.
You have to cheese it with air attacks, which also seems like a good way to deal with any Ranger.
I don’t know why I feel so inclined to watch videos on games I don’t play
Me for most fighting games I love too look through all of their nooks and crannies but hardly play them myself
thats it im gettin the game
Definitely get it this game is fun Af!
the unlockables are literally like Pokken DX my fighting game knowledge is INFINITE
2v2?
A 2v2 1V1 fighting game? What does that even mean?
You play a fighting game while fighting your demons
It’s funny because for me it’s the opposite, in strive I want to play nearly every character, but in this game no characters are really calling to me
When I first got Strive I didn't know anything about the lore so nobody stuck to me and I had a character crisis, now I'm in another character crisis because everyone's so *fucking* cool (Apart from Nago, I hate Nago players and have vowed to never become one)
Don't really think the scout's honor system of placing yourself in a rank is all that bad. The game will demote you accordingly, and you do get demoted quite fast if you aren't "there".
GekkoSquirrel really like his girls with a exotic pet
I'd be enjoying this game a lot more if it wasn't for the fact that I cannot rematch in ranked because of a day-1 bug
And a couple of weeks later, it still hasn't been fixed :')
5:33 I Found My Main!
I am happy Urdah is not the only Grappler who can 26Combo you up

Unfortunately almost half the cast feel like zoners with ther enormous nomals and special moves. That's honestly my only problem. Also ghost blade and crusader are the glue eaters of this game for sure. Ghost blades normals and special moves are enormous and all thr visual noise the ghost puts on screen is extremely annoying, it svery easy to loose track of what's going on sometimes. Then crusader is just....yeah crusader.
This video aged like milk
Honestly, DNF duel gets tiresome fast imo. I don't know, it feels like a crazy team fighting game only with single fighters and that's kinda boring to me.
Zoners are lame but this game has brainwashed me into thinking that Ranger is one of the sickest fighting game characters ever. Maybe it’s just his design and moveset that just make me think this dude is dope as hell. But Launcher is lame and annoying she can rot in Zoner hell for all I care
This game is great
This game is fun until hitman kills you with one DP and the it's mega fun
I love dnff duelll 😍😍
Word
its just turn based
You cant make a top tier last when everyone is Top Tier.... in this game have the oposide problem that GGs instant of my character is honest is my character is more op than your haha
yes lol it lasted a week
Meh brain dead controls (learn to quarter circle forward) and 1/2 the range and dmg across the board.

Am I the only one who dislikes this game?
First
This game is what happens when the spirit of smash bros and normal fighting games collide. More room for shenanigans this was with a high ceiling and low floor. Perfect balance
