Amazing video! Just would like to add few observations I had while working with this sensor: 1. Yes, they work even when placed behind a plastic surface and even through thin concrete walls. Metal is the only enemy of the microwave sensor 2. The current consumption in idle state is higher for microwave sensor (approx. few milliAmps) when compared to PIR sensor (in range of few microAmps) so in case used in a battery powered product, PIR would take the front seat. Apart from that it is definitely a pretty cool sensor and you seem to have covered all the essentials already!
No microwave sensors do not work on SONAR, it works on Doppler effect which is totally different concept from Sonar which you mentioned. Sonar works on time of flight where as Doppler effect is change in frequencies which is used in radar. This sensor is not new, it's been in the market for couple of years now. Microwave sensors have their own disadvantages compared to PIR sensors so you need to explore a bit more and also mention them in your videos.
Brother you did it very well, but can we add this motion sensor to cadio Just like even if sensor in active state but if we don't need any use of applience , we just turn it off by using Manual switch or from cadio mobile rather it will be in on state. Is it possible
The problems is PIR sensor will be detect the presence of human with out any movement. But microwave sensor will be off there is no movement. Etc.. we are provided air condition with this, sleeping time AC will be turn off because there is no movement. The sensor useful for crowded area.
Well, as per my installation, yes it will trigger when the fan is on. But first thing, we rarely turn on the fan in the studio. secondly, if you need to turn the fan on, well you need to change the location of the sensor installation and also change the sensitivity a bit
Yes I have used both of them but some applications require line of sight motion detection where microwave sensor would be prone to unwanted triggers, as have installed IR motion sensor in my bathroom for light and exhaust fan.
hey brother , i stay nearby rail station so, when trains passby objects in the house does vibrate little bit. what can i solve this ???? i wanna use microwave sensor but this problem wont let me do so 😅😅😅😅😅
well, not the one which I have shown in this video, but surely there will be some kind of microwave sensor available in the market which we can interface with ESP32 and add it into home assistant
Really Amazing sensor I never knew about this before I had not used it. I have Used PIR Sensor. Now I will surely try with microwave motion sensor. Thanks a lot Sachin for this valued information
WOW!!!, i am going to get these . Till now I thought that the pir sensor is the best , but now after watching your video microwave sensor is the best. Thank you very much
You can say (We) instead of ( I ) or (my friend) attached the sensor because clearly you did not attach it (at 6:06) so the person doesn't feel resentment. Just a tıp because happened to me few times. Nice information by the way.
Hey dude! First thing thanks for sharing affirmative knowledge and your hardwork. Now try to make tracking face with microwave motion sensor and servo motor. this is something new in RUclips ! Try it if you can !
I'd go with LD2410 (High Sensitivity 24GHz Human Presence Status Radar modules) these days, as well as sensing movement they also cover pressence and open up more options with that.
Wow this is an amazing sensor for motion detection In past i used pir sensor but i didn't calibrated it properly and i didn't get proper results Sure i will use this for my upcoming projects
I used microwave sensor ,which use doppler effect abt just cost 80₹ it can detect 360° and the issue i think is that it will detect movement from other room too so it's a issue.
It’s definitely a printing mistake and MW is too much. And if you search for radiation from a mobile phone then it will be maximum 2 watts. So with this we can say that it’s a print mistake
What if the motion of a non living object is there like a home cleaning device or other ,then the microwave sensors will turn on lights even those humans are not there in room
Thank you Sachin for this Super Valued Information. Keep posting informative videos like this. We were planning to build a security device using Motion sensor but confused about the using of PIR or Microwave ( For there performance). This video will surely help us to decide which sensor to use in our product. Thank you..
If you’re suggesting us something then do your homework properly. Inform it’s cons too. Did you check if your light getting switched on because of the movement of upper floor people? It’s a big con for people living in apartments. Yes it can be adjusted but these diy iot project never tend to work reliably.
Actually I tried this thing in my studio but as there was terrace above my studio so it didn’t catch up any movements But you got a point, in apartments it might be a issue

Will it detect the small fan's rotation as motion? Fans which are inside the network switches?
Very interesting, but you forgot to show us the range of the microwave sensor
How are wifi signals when this is around? Does it interfere?
If i use pir sensor and replace in place of pir sensor is it work

Start your fan, microwave motion sensor will detect it as a motion

What's the effect of running Fan on this sensor ?
It will definitely interfere the sensors reading
Not recommended near fan
Rcwl-0516 also using microwave?
What is the quiescent current of this sensor?
Is it possible to add that into home assistant

And also share this video with others as well 🙌🏻🙌🏻
How about actual sonar sensor?
You can say (We) instead of ( I ) or (my friend) attached the sensor because clearly you did not attach it (at 6:06) so the person doesn't feel resentment. Just a tıp because happened to me few times. Nice information by the way.

I'm using this sensor for the past 2 years. Good one...
amazing
in what application u r using it?
yes I was aware of this sensor I integrated this last year in my home automation
sir u can try RCWL-0516 sensor and make a project using esp32
I'd go with LD2410 (High Sensitivity 24GHz Human Presence Status Radar modules) these days, as well as sensing movement they also cover pressence and open up more options with that.
Hi, just ordered it.
I have to wait at LEAST 5 minutes to the light shut down.
I said the time to minimum..
Thanks.
Minimum time is of 10sec if I’m not wrong
the best explanation, thanks
Please make one video with Google assistant and microwave sensor.
Wow this is an amazing sensor for motion detection
In past i used pir sensor but i didn't calibrated it properly and i didn't get proper results
Sure i will use this for my upcoming projects
Sure. Try it and let me know how it works
Is it possible to jugad it and connect to microcontrollers for diy projects
There must be some sensors compatible with microcontroller board available in the market
Check it out
Then once check RCWL-0516 will function the same
What happen if you turn on your fan
I used microwave sensor ,which use doppler effect abt just cost 80₹ it can detect 360° and the issue i think is that it will detect movement from other room too so it's a issue.
No
we can adjust the sensitivity in the one which I was using
Thanks. Very helpful content
Glad it was helpful!
I'm getting one of these :) I've done lots of PIR but this is much better. Thank you for your time and work.
Glad it was helpful!
Sir how to microwave motion sensor in class room automation
Perfect I'll consider using microwave better than pir
Me too...
Thanks please do a video of this sensor with home assistant
7:18 that is a capital M for mega, not milli. 0.2Mw is 200 kilowatts!
😁

@@techiesms yes, definitely a typo. Hence the grin emoticon in my comment. Cheers!

Very very useful thank you so much brother
Welcome
Thank you so much sir, amazing video. Can you please make a video on how to use a microwave sensor, with a board like arduino or esp32 ?
Thank you
At first, I thought it's a $700 tech!!
Thank you Sachin for this Super Valued Information. Keep posting informative videos like this.

Yaa I used this Season
Its really good then pir
awesome
But how to use it with Arduino and all
Worth watching..
Hai sir
how to make own microwave sensor
thanks
You're welcome!
Nice 👍
Thanks ✌
But how lights turn off 😅😅

Lizards won't let the load to be off 😂 ... Sensitivity really matters
😂😂😂
The main problem is it will also detect non living object motion
yes. so it depends upon the type of applications as well
@@techiesms it is also low cost.... I bought one @60/-
I am not aware of microwave sensor befor
Costs only Rs.70 for microwave module
Where
will it sense the pigeon
Not a "sonar" but like a "Doppler radar" 🙄.
And how you explain the difference between both ?
@@techiesms sonar - sound waves
And in this case it is the microwaves doing the job.🤷🏻
