Here is the thing about the AK
Almost all AKs out there are either an AKM, developed in 1958, or an AK-74 which fires a 5.45 x 39 rather than a 7.62 x 39. A real AK47 is prone to jamming and very rare.

well what i have noticed on cs and csgo is the diferent gamestyle basicaly i can say the sniper became kinda easier in csgo and that you have to run using only your knife(rip my deagle rush on source)the hostages are kinda a meh change and that but ye the spray is kinda harder in csgo wich is an alright challenge eventho you can still one tap headshot but i kinda find weird they added pay for skins and to put spray :(

1 - The AK47 was never cheap, at least not until it was modernized to be made out of stamped components and became the AKM. What made it affordable was the large scale production that Russia's industry could provide when its largest gun factories all focused on interchangeable components for exactly the same model. Producing large volumes of an item to arm the entire Red Army + allied groups will inevitably make it cheaper.
2 - American automatic weapons in WW2 were not chambered for 9mm, but .45 ACP. A likely bigger inspiration for the AK-47 was the German Sturmgewehr, which was also chambered for an intermediate cartridge, though it is true that, unlike the StG, the AK was designed as a replace SMGs rather than rifles.

Technically, since all you mentioned was the width of the 9mm bullet (which isn't even fired by the Thomson) it could be implied that the 9mm is more powerful than the AK round, since it fires a bullet that's smaller in width.
