I think I've read elsewhere you have to calibrate with a fairly long cable (at least 30ft IIRC) and that whenever battery is changed that needs to be redone.
Hi, I own this device model. how can i reset them? (if there is a possibility) I have a problem, when I want to measure the length of the cable it tells me that I have more meters than the one I know. for example a 5m UTP cable tells me it has 9.1m. Thanks

@@springton That was my original question nearly 2 years ago that no one answered. Do you own one of these, confirmed the battery can be removed, and verified that replacements are available? What is the part number for the battery?
Zeric E Yes bought in 2017 and just used it yesterday. I had a twofold problem. The battery was not holding the charge, and the micro usb broke inside on the pc board. I replaced the battery. They are all over Amazon, just find the ma h and voltage rating. I found the + and - connections the usb port used and soldered in a coax plug with a lead. I soldered the mate to the micro usb cable and voila, charging again. I could not find a better unit for the money that does all.
The biggest features that make it better than the NF308 that I tested would have to be in my order of preference.... 1. POE Voltage Testing, 2. Ping Function (no longer need a laptop all the time) and 3. Full colour screen... Not really that important and would not be the reason to upgrade but the 1st 2 definitely help out when you are out and about on the job. :-)

any Idea when I test some cables I get a length of 65.5 feet but the cable is more like 5-10 feet

Does it have a setting to change weather or not you can see if the wire is shielded or not? My old Klein had this feature and it was nice to have.
My NF-8601 seems to have older software in it as it does not have the port flash function. Do you know if it can be updated?
Did shows which side (meter or remote) has pins reverse(crossover)?

How calibrated the device lenght?
Evione Group Also, based on the manual it looks like the 308 does not test for crosstalk and the 8601 does.
