I've had the book for a while now, but never got around to reading it. In light of the upcoming Kenobi miniseries I may prioritize it over other books I want to read first. Thank you for the review and sparking interest in the novel again. Personally, I like when you pick one or two characters and discuss them a bit more in depth. But I understand if you want to drop that part because of time limits and wanting to streamline the reviews. Anyways, I'll definitely look into getting started on the book. I wonder what would have happened if they'd adapted this story instead of whatever they'll be doing on the Disney Plus show (which I'm not even sure how to feel about or if I'll even watch, despite having Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen back, given the current status of SW). PS Glad to hear that this book isn't pulling a "Dances With Wolves" when it comes to the Tuskans...like "The Book Of Boba Fett" (sigh) did...
I’m glad this was the first of the expanded universe stuff I read/listened to for Star Wars… the only problem is it set a huge example of what I like in a Star Wars book now. One which Dooku: Jedi Lost didn’t quite live up to, though it mainly fell down in marks as the audio version chose to have a guy who sounded nothing like Christopher Lee as Dooku. But Master and Apprentice (which I’m listening to now) seems to be more on Kenobi’s level when it comes to the character stuff.

I like the new cover but the original cover is probably my favorite Star Wars book cover so I'm a bit partial to that one haha. But yeah, this became one of my favorite Star Wars books! Miller absolutely understands what makes Star Wars what it is. I wasn't sure I'd like it THAT much since I tend to prefer the space fantasy side of Star Wars over the space western but he did such a great job of combining all of the aspects of Star Wars (minus the huge warfare) into one and it makes me want to grab the rest of his Star Wars books... hopefully they bring him on for a High Republic project because man, it could use an uplift like that lol
I also agree that Obi-Wan was being a weirdo for not being cool with getting closer to Annileen lol. I get why he didn't, it makes sense, but I legit went through the whole book HOPING he would develop something with her despite knowing he almost certainly wouldn't.
@@TheGeeksAttic Agreed, I think he and James Luceno are probably my favorite SW authors these days. Zahn isn't far behind but I do think he tends to be a bit overrated at times.
I just finished listening to the audiobook. It started a bit slowly, but it's really good overall and would have been good source material for a live-action TV series. Have you read Choices of One? I didn't find a review on your channel and was wondering if it's worth it (though sadly they never recorded an audiobook for it).
This is still my favorite Star Wars book by my favorite Star Wars author. I love it even more on rereads.
One of my all-time favorite Star Wars books!

I also love the original cover. Canon really does need someone like Miller, an author that knows how to write good character!

Great review dude!

Hello! I have not yet made it to Choices of One, one of these days I’ll get there!
This book is in my top five. I'm like a 1/4 thru it but it's really good
