A Viking Rhine River Cruise from Amsterdam, Netherlands to Basil, Switzerland.
A climb up the 509 stairs to the 515 foot Cologne Tower with views of Cologne
Views of the inside of the tower and the city from the top of the cathedral tower.
One of the excursions on our Viking Rhine River cruise is to go up the Cologne Cathedral Tower. Now for the Viking travelers, they are allowed to use the scaffolding elevator to go up the tower cutting down on the 509 stairs to go up to the 515-foot tower. Now when we went up the Strasbourg Cathedral Tower it was ONLY 332 steps to climb the 466-foot tower and no elevator. However, it was that climb that convinced me, I didn’t want to do the Cologne Tower even though I had paid for it. However, my travel partner was a lot braver than I, and she did the climb. She took all the pictures while she braved the “elevator” ride and the walk. We had to get written permission from the Directors of the Cathedral to post this video.
