Fun fact: D-Low was on record saying that he was going to vote Helium until the very last second and voted King Inertia. If D-Low voted Helium it would've been a 1 minute overtime round each. GBB disallowed OT in top 16 so a judge voting for OT would not count as a vote but if the remaining four judges were 2-2 they would've had to do an OT round.
The reason helium's counter was so good was cause he's known for being the guy with the clean crisp beats, inertia for his insane basses etc. Helium showed he can also do inertias style aswell.
No disrespect, but i noticed a lot of "new" people to the beatbox world think battles like these aren`t close battles because rounds like inertia does (lot of bases, a bit easier to perform but really pleasant to the ear) are easier to digest and manivest and are closer to real music. That is why technical beatboxers like Helium, colaps, river and footboxg do worse in reaction video`s then they actualy are. Battles like these are really close because of the tech being complex, original, technical and hitting many difference judging criteria as it should. I noticed that multiple reaction channels who reacted to this battle said, when inertia`s first rounds drop comes in, that Inertia Clearly won by a mile while in reality it could have gone either way (like a 50/50 or a 48/52).
Still I was like you guys at first. Been watching for many years and know Helium is way more technical. But when you include the musicality, build up, then the last 1 min of every battle he steps up the technical bit while he had crowd jumping from start. He had same ground beat on both rounds while stepping up difficulty as the time goes. Like helium won technical bit by far but he didn’t have a (red line) throughout he’s performances like Inertia had. And close on the other ones but inertia had a slight overall better rating i think at least. But ofc it’s close... But I get their reaction.
None taken bro, you're absolutely right. I am new to this and I'm not putting anything past these other beatboxers, cause they're clearly extremely good at what they do. Just a personal opinion of course, cause you're spot on when it comes to the easier to digest part for sure. Appreciate you bro
I think it was close but heliums endings are way to similar. But he had more tech in his rounds. Inertia has the best basses right now. They are clean af and just have a power not to many other people have. Zekka is close in sound but not power imo. But your saying this but I see newcomers watch d low and talk about the sounds. So I give newbies more credit. But I do feel you on some lvl.
7:00 it's called a spitsnare, it's done by pushing air through your lips, and there are multiple different ways or positions on how a dude can use it, for Inertia here, he puts his upper lip right on his stretched down lower lip.
Because you asked: Helium is especially known for his good and clean technique, the "fasting-up" thing you mentioned can be seen as part of it, and also he is known for his very powerful basics. But the fastening up is not his signature-sound like Intertias Inward-Bass for example. But Helium has more variety in sounds on a high quality than most of the bbxers, like you saw in his counter, there are just a few People who can do it like this. He wanted to play out this advantage in the battle and he and other participants said that if helium placed his counter (of the century) better, he would have won. Edit: I think Inertia deserved the win for sure and dominated the whole competition until he started getting repetitive around the semifinals
During King Inertia's 1st round, Helium was actually telling him to show some more variation and when Inertia continued with his inward bass, that Sleeping gesture by Helium was showing that Inertia got no variation.
Intertia is awesome his sound is amazing . But all rounds are very similar . Nothing wrong with using perfected sounds. Codfish used to do it . But it’s the same beat near enough every round for a competition needed to show off his beats not just the one .( personal preference) For me helium was the better . But the beauty of beatbox is there is something for everyone and still was awesome beats though lol
So many good battles from the past gbb but if you want to follow in order. You just saw inertia eliminate helium, next he battles alem. That’s in the quarter final. Great reaction man.
15:57 yes, but unfortunately OT rounds weren't a thing in gbb 2021, in previous years, if 3 out of the 5 judges do that X sign, they finna have another round
Great reaction! I hope you react to some of the bbu wildcards that have been coming recently! either way I look forward to the next beatbox reaction 😎🔥
So that you could see a good technical battle, watch Alexhinho vs Footboxg. Alexhinho is a pure battle style beatboxer. While footboxg has the most mind boggling patterns using the spit snares as fast as high hats can go.
Helium probably could have won if he had more structure with his beats like he would go with a beat then like change it to just some other beat that doesn’t transition from the one before as inertia like followed with the different beat he had the whole time, his counter ofc gave him probably the more points if he didn’t do that it definitely would’ve been a clear lose but if he had more structure and better transitioning he could of beat inertia I think without a doubt.
Hiya! could you pls react to SB19 leader Pablo's La Luna, its 🔥. he just released his solo single few hrs ago. Also another suggestion SB19 Bazinga. Thank u so much! 😁
Idk, inertia sounded nice but that’s not hard to do with a few tones off set. Helium was just faaaaar more technical. I’d say any professional would agree that it takes far more practice to have the technicalities of Helium, and his consistency. Inertia sounds like he’s just making lame breathing noises after each high pitch, which he needs to work on, imo.

GBB disallowed OT in top 16 so a judge voting for OT would not count as a vote but if the remaining four judges were 2-2 they would've had to do an OT round.
He ultimately voted for King Inertia because he had more of a wow factor which he definitely did...

Hahaha ofc he can’t
@@shadynosaureTVit was a pretty good counter tbh
@@matthewhawthorne8411 yup it was, but not as clean as KI basses

The problem with King Inertia is that he can get a bit stale after a few rounds, it starts sounding too similar.
That makes sense, I can see that happening.
7:00 it's called a spitsnare, it's done by pushing air through your lips, and there are multiple different ways or positions on how a dude can use it, for Inertia here, he puts his upper lip right on his stretched down lower lip.
when i heard that. i was blown away!
Man I love your energy in these reactions keep it up dude
i Really appreciate that forreal! thank you!!
Inertia goes up against Alem next, but you also might want to check out Hiss vs River from the top 16 battles.
🔥🔥🔥
yeah.. the best solo battle for me
8:11 lmao NO. Helium actually meant "you're doing it over & over again".
My Man Really Catching Up He Even Picked Up Judging 🔥
you already knoww!! lol
Love your beatbox reactions keep it up💪🏽

Just joking lol

Woah I am first for once! Good reaction.

Agreed! They both did very well, but there’s something about inertias beats that HITS CRAZY for me.
Love your reactions man! You should react to Napom GBB21 Elimination. That guy is a beast and also he is 2017 GBB champion.
glad you enjoy them! im gonna have to check out some more! thank you!
helium didn't mean to speed it up, he is saying that inertia is doing the same beat all the time
Nice reaction 👍🏽🔥
The funny face guy is actually the CEO of Swissbeatbox
Yes, back to beatboxing.🙏
King Inertia vs King Helium 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
8:16 Does it mean speed it up though? I feel that gesture is more like saying that the beat is repetitive, hence the 'looping finger' gesture
That makes sense too. It could be that way as well, never really thought about it like that. Good point.
Try Dlow vs colaps🔥🔥🔥
So many good battles from the past gbb but if you want to follow in order. You just saw inertia eliminate helium, next he battles alem. That’s in the quarter final. Great reaction man.
6:58 it's BMG snare or spit snare, you can check it out on youtube, there's a whole lot of tutorials and it's not too difficult :)

That click is actually called the bmg snare, just for future reference
thank you for that!
@@TypicalTaner anytime man.
i love your react you know that inertia take it🔥

15:57 yes, but unfortunately OT rounds weren't a thing in gbb 2021, in previous years, if 3 out of the 5 judges do that X sign, they finna have another round
Next: Alem vs Inertia
X means tie and if there were 3 X’s they would do another round where each has 45 seconds. Then they’d have to judge with no option of tie.
You have to watch inertia smoke bullet
React Dlow judge showcase gbb2021 bro!! thats insane too🔥
or you can watch dlow compilation gbb2019 because he win that years
More beatbox reaction please
In terms of pure technical precision, Helium has got to be best in the world 👏
Recommendation
Colaps vs Zekka🔥
Bro needs to react to inertia vs alem after this one, next battle after this one!
you need to react to D-low vs B-art.
如果你們仔細看,作同樣的東西,但是氦只能維持同樣的動作,但慣性可以邊移動身體變做同樣的聲音
Great reaction! I hope you react to some of the bbu wildcards that have been coming recently! either way I look forward to the next beatbox reaction 😎🔥
You should react to “bbu 2022 wildcard winners” it’s crazy
Please react to the top 10 drops from gbb21 you will be blown away my man
The top ten drops were kindda dissapointing ngl... they missed alot of good drops
U must check out Napom vs Zekka GBB2021!🔥🔥🔥
I'm surprised helium completely switched his beats, he used to be very similar to inertia in terms of bass and some beats
Please react next to colaps vs inertia

helium didnt say speed it up he is saying inertia is repeating the same beat again and again. sorry for my bad english
No I understood you 100%. You’re right, I noticed after everyone was telling me that. Makes sense now.
